  1. Chower, I'm with you on Seagar. Superior Florocarbon. I tried Vanish and it is horrible stuff.
  2. Not that many but I do have a pike ornament!
  3. If you fish in a portable, I would recommend Fire line. If it ices up, it is easy to get the ice off of it.
  4. Iceman must be afiliated with this guy. He is running the price up so this guy makes more money. $10.01
  5. I vote Glen for president!
  6. You can run 2 rods and cheat the top rod covering a lot of teh water column. This works good in the early parts of the season when the fish are scattered in the water column more. You can buy the Scotty stacker releases. They work great. Just be careful when you are bringing up the rigger. The metal clips can cut the cable if they slam into the boom of the rigger.
  7. 30 until March. If the average age gets any higher around here, we might be able to get a group discount on Rascal Scooters!
  8. Pete that works in Gander Mountain saw the pics. I believe it was caught by one of the perch charters (Capt. Chas from Oak).
  9. Glad to hear it Rick. Keep the good news coming.
  10. Make sure you buy a electric or propane. The charcoal ones are a lot tougher to regulate the heat. I just purchased an Smokehouse electric smoker from Gander Mountain this fall for 139.99. Lots of room. Works great.
  11. Can I pay in payments? Do you take credit cards?
  12. I saw 19' on the weather bouy 3 years ago in November. It was one of those huge wind events that fall. Could not imagine what that would be like in my 22' boat.
  13. Still scratching my head hours later about that one.
  14. Fishhawk X4. No coated cable to replace (in turn your downrigger counters are still accurate), battery life is great (did not change batteries all season last year), works without skipping a beat 120'+ down, and a smaller probe so you have less blow back. Depth Raider and sub troll are good units also. They are a little cheaper than the Fish Hawk but the replacement of coated cable over the years will make up the difference.
  15. Isn't that the truth Tim.
  16. The weather channel was talking about waves on Superior for today. They were calling for 20 -25 ft waves. That would make for a long day of trolling.
  17. Not Seneca but Lake Ontario. I have caught some really big lakers on the bottom in 180 -220 off of Rochester. There may be some laying on the bottom in Seneca also. Worth a try.
  18. What a joke. Terrorism on a stupid wind turbine? If some terrorist blows up a wind turbine, so what. It will not kill 1000's like a nuke plant.
  19. [quote="kliph Most of the time copper is run with Dipsy's. So the whole 600 ft is not out. Copper with dipsys???? Please explain. Why, when the copper gets down enough without a dipsy? Kind of a waste of cash if you ask me. SS wire rigs are a lot cheaper and achieve the depths needs 99% of the time.
  20. Copper rigs are too expensive to replace if they get tangled. I will stick with one per side. Besides, the further out your boards are, the more chances some bonehead rec boater or sailboat will find them.
  21. Girlfriend must have locked down on his spending!
  22. If this derby was being run by the same people, I would be a little hesitant in signing up. It is a different owner. The first year of the derby was a good one. If the owner did not try to expand it as fast as he did, it might still be here.
