  2. Congrats idn713!
  3. Cameras have been blowing up since first light. Deer have been cruising all morning.
  4. Two new big boys showed up on cam this past weekend...
  5. https://youtu.be/o6CVsivOiv4?si=bPPGCw_awwvk8TVg I would imagine today through tomorrow morning will be good sits but stay turned. A huge weather change coming next weekend. Highs Tuesday thru Friday this week in the low 70s. Next week highs in the low 40s!!!
  6. Haha. Got this picture just now. Apparently this buck brings his licking branch with him!
  7. The boys have been on their feet since sunset yesterday. At least a dozen bucks on camera including 3 matures. My most active camera is on a active food source and the sparring happening seems endless.
  8. As poor as the weather seems to be this afternoon (wind and rain), my #1 was on his feet at 559 tonight.
  9. Funny you should ask... Yes it was my first sit with my new Ozonic Orion X. I even took a picture of it that afternoon to do a review of it. Its easy to use. There is a quiet fan noise, fyi, but it didn't bother me. I used the unit on boost mode until about 5:00 ish and then I switched it to hyperboost mode. I certainly don't want to give the unit full credit for my success that day but it didn't hurt. The buck approach me from my up wind side and was the only deer I saw all sit. Im a believer in the ozone technology 100 percent. I will tell you it will be in the tree the next time I sit though!
  10. Ok whos out this am? Give us a field report!
  11. No doubt the boys have been getting feisty this week!!!
  12. Here you go!
  13. Well cameras have no doubt slowed down a bit this week with overall deer movement. Last week it seemed like the young bucks showed up in full force and it was finally the end of big bachelor groups. Not sure if there has been a change in food sources but certainly a possibility. Im getting to the point where the only thing still standing is corn and that wont get harvested until next month some time. Food is plentiful but not like it was a month ago. Yesterday was the first time in a very long time that I didnt have a daylight photo of a mature buck. Weather is the easy excuse. Haha, as Im writing this my cell cam notifications sound off with a mature buck pic. Too damn funny. I will say daylight photos are 3 to 1 in the pm hours.
  14. Pretty ugly weather pattern here for the next few days. However Monday looks like an absolute killer day to be in the woods. Long term forecast is predicting some drastically cold weather starting about October 30th. Should make for some great hunting!
  15. Awesome. Congrats. I love the Tactacam footage!
  16. Thanks everyone!
  17. October 17 pm WSW wind 5-10 mph Cloudy skies With the weather conditions close to perfect I made time in my schedule to make sure I was sitting in a tree for the afternoon. With the wind I elected to hunt a set that a buck had been daylighting the day before and 2 days before right at sunset (as per cell cam). Well he showed up for a third day in a row and it proved to be his last. The woods is still so thick and green I never saw him until he was standing 20 yards in front of me. He busted me reaching for my bow and was on high alert. He busted me again as I remove the bow from the bow hook and now he was concerned. He did a 180 degree turn around a bush and as he turned away from me I drew my bow. He step back into the shooting wind at about 22 yards, stopped, and I let an arrow fly. The shot looked perfect and I watched my arrow leave with him and nockturnal nock light up the woods. The shot looked good and felt good. It was about 610 when I arrowed him. I elected to sit until almost 7 because he headed back the same direction I came in and I didn't want to bump him as I was walking out. As by my post I was originally going to go back in a few hours but I elected to wait until morning. I actually slept pretty good believe it or not. I think because I felt the **** was on the money. This morning we got in the, got on the shot site, and found nothing. Zero. I jumped on the trail and headed down it just based on direction of travel when I saw him run off. Nothing. No blood. About 20 yards in my kid found a puddle of blood. I switched to a different parallel deer trail and about 10 yards further I found half of my arrow. There was a bit of blood on the tree that broke the arrow off and after that zero blood again. WTF. I literally walked blindly down the deer trail another 20 yards and saw a white belly just off the deer trail. You cant imagine how happy I was to see that! All in all deer went about 75 yards. When I walked out last night I was within 30 yards of him. Yotes got to him a bit and chewed off his damn tail and opened the arrow wound up a bit. Here's some pics.
  18. BBD!!!
