  1. We spent a little time yesterday investigating deeper water. It should not come as a big surprise but outside of the colored water remains to be a clean and an extremely cold wall of water (60'+ = 38 degrees). Tough to leave the shallows to fish those conditions so we tucked our tail between our legs and ran for 15 fow. And with the threat of sounding like a broken record, fishing remains great inside. Same program as the past few weeks for us with the exception of bigger sticks off the boards (same patterns though- goby, chart, black/silver). along with DW ss off the riggers and slide divers (caramel dolphin, yellow goby, and anything orange). Everything still leadered up in 10# Blood Run Fluorocarbon. Plenty of fish in 10-15 fow and as the bite slow in the late morning we slid out to 20-25 and found plenty of fish there too. Great mixed catch of Browns, Cohos, Lakers, Steel, and a King. (Only needing an Atlantic Salmon for the Lake Ontario Slam.)

  4. We are still looking to fill our feeding schedule for one more week. If Anyone is interested, send an email to us at [email protected]
  5. not sure exactly but 100'+
  6. No more fleaflicker, Cortland discontinued the line at the start of this season. Blood Run's 30# Sea Flee line has really worked great for me. It relies on its diameter and its slick line coating to repell fleas. It also has a round shape unlike the oval shape of cortland fleaflicker line which most guys didnt like too much.
  7. When setting slide divers... i reel the slide diver to the tip of the rod and then reset the counter. I grab the slide diver, release the spool, and drop the rod in a rod holder. I bring the diver to the same level as the reel counter and run out the line. In this case I run out 90' of line as per the linecounter and lock the slide diver in place. i then drop the slide diver in the water and count out another 11' feet. The actual distance between the diver and the rod tip is 11' plus the length of the rod (8'). So the actual distance is probably closer to 20' not 11'. For shallow water fishing im using a 5 setting, in all hopes to get the greatest pull away from the boat.
  8. Fishing continues to be nothing short of ridiculous. 50 plus fish with a mixed catch of Browns, Cohos, and Lakers equaled a day full of Chinese fire drills. Yesterday we straight line trolled from Hamlin beach to Cowsucker Creek from west to east and then east to west. We found lots of good water in tight (8-12 fow). Most of it stained (and to my surprise, not muddy) and all around mid 40s in temp. The big difference this week is the bait has shown up. Everything we caught seemed to be spitting up bait. Gobies, Niagaras, and alewives all found the deck of the boat. Inside the creek is also seeing its fair share of bait. Challenger sticks in goby and chart took their fair share of fish but DW spoons were king yesterday. Dreamweaver super slims off the riggers (65' and 55' down 7') and slide divers ( back 90', out 101') provided the majority of the action for us. DW ss caramel dolphin was the best bait to hit the water yesterday but yellow goby, glow orange slurpee, orange gangster, steelie cane, mixed veggie, and glow frog all took shots.

  12. How do you have to load the pens?
  13. 6' is good. Nothing longer then the length of the rod.
  14. Wow!!!!! You guys are awesome! Thank you for all the Birthday wishes!

  15. Speed duplication is huge and can vary tremendously depending on trolling direction (east and west) following the shoreline. 1/8 to 1/4 mph can make all the diffence. Water color and temp are also things to pay attention to. Watwer may be to clean or too dirty. Or you may find a warm pocket of water which may be a degree diferent or 4 degrees different then everything else. As you catch fish make a mental note on the bait, depth of water, speed, and location in the spread the fish came from and slowly build your spread on what the fish are telling you.
  16. Not so much inside of 10 fow but for sure in deeper water (12-25'). You will be able to cover the water column better

  19. Easter Sunday @ Sandy Exceptional fishing continues... crazy numbers. Doubles along with an occasional triple. Mixed bag. Browns, Cohos, Steel, and Lakers all hit the deck this afternoon. DW ss spoons and stickbaits in goby patterns all taking fish.
