  5. So it looks like Tactacam is for me. No doubt the Reveal X Pro because of the gps and I know some dumb*ss is gonna steal one. My question is battery life. How is it? It looks like each camera takes 12 AA batteries... How long are they lasting? Any one using the rechargeable battery packs?
  6. Is there other models with built in GPS? Thats why I picked that model
  7. Im leaning towards "TACTACAM Reveal X PRO"
  8. Ok, whats the best cellular game cam?????????? Whos using them? What to stay away from?
  9. January 10 24 low 45 high Light wind Partly sunny Well the morning sit produced only a small doe and a young buck. Spent the morning sitting where I sat yesterday afternoon. For the afternoon I went to a new spot. A series of small bean fields along a river. That sit also didn't produce much and I only saw a doe and fawn. Word at camp was there was a giant seen at dusk by one guy but no shot, another saw 2 that were around 125" but too small for his liking, and third hunter **** at one tonight. I'm still not sure of the outcome on that. They backed out and we're heading there in the morning. Ohio has dupped me again.
  10. Word at camp on Monday was guys saw a ton of déer (by far the most deer since we have been here) but zero shooters were seen today.
  11. January 9 Low 29 high 42 Party sunny Light wind The morning sit had me in the same stand as the day before. Which was the big ridge/clear cut stand. Just a doe and 2 fawns for the am. I did see a flick of 55+ turkeys when I was walking out. That was crazy to see. Fresh spot for the afternoon and probably my new favorite spot here. Thick bedding on the hillside just off the big woods. Young growth that extend into a big CRP field. They use a lot of bait and minerals here and the bait site here was freshened up with 200# of corn in about 25 hours. 18 does/fawns seen in the pm sit. No bucks. The camera overnight showed a couple of young bucks.
  12. A few were seen yesterday by the guys at camp. One was 140+ seen at 300 in the afternoon but too far for a shot. Another guy had 2 shooters with a possible third all together, late afternoon, but too far for a shot also.
  13. January 9 Low 28 high 38 Cloudy skies Light winds Moved to a different spot on day 2 after cell cams showed some bucks daylighting. The spot is a small oak woods on a big Ridge line that leads to a clear cut just above a nasty, thick bottom. Bumped deer walking in and had deer around me all morning until about 945. Snuck out midday to warm up and came back for the afternoon. Saw lots of deer. No shooters though. I did have a buck that had already shed his antlers though.
  14. Update... January 7 Low 24 high 44 Partly sunny skies Light south wind turning light west Pulled an all day sit. Big ridge and saddle right in the middle of a big timber block. Heard 9 shots all day. Never saw a deer. The only big news from camp (7 of us total) was one guy passed up a big 7 (shooter) in the pm and another guy saw a neighbor shoot and kill a 140s buck in the am next to him in the clear cut 200 yards out. Cold front moved in here and the weather has been seasonable. Thursday it was 70 degrees here and Saturday morning it was 24. Cold front has helped and some deer are moving in daylight according to cell cams. Cell service sucks at camp but apparently is really good in this stand.
  15. It's should be all up from here until June.
  16. I shoot mine without any weight at all.
  17. Jackson, Ohio
  18. Good morning from Ohio!
  19. This didn't post yesterday...
  20. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Dan "Double D" for taking the time to get my gun issues taken care of. In the past week or so he has dealt with a handful of phone calls from me. I ended up purchasing a new scope (based on his recommendation). He then took the time to mount it, bore sight it, and even took it to the range to get it close to zeroed. I can't say enough. I spent some time today at the range regaining confidence in my gun. Gun likes to be dirty so the more I shot the better it looked on paper. All seems good so I head to Ohio hoping to get an opportunity at redemption!
  21. Well the season isnt quite over for me yet. I will be heading to Ohio on Friday for the muzzleloader season. Updates later this week!
  22. January 1 pm 38 Degrees SW wind 5-15 cloudy No much to report. Pretty quiet sit once again and im sure this warm front is to blame. A small buck and a bunch of does/ fawns at dusk.
  23. One last day for the NY season...
