  4. From the start of archery season right to the very end, i try to be as scent free as possible, right down to using scent free shampoo, deodorant, and soap. Whats everyones favorite scent elimination products? I just placed an order and this year i plan on using Dead Down Wind's entire line of products. Id love to hear everyones opinions.
  5. From everything i heard, friday and saturday were also tough or just awful. After hearing that we headed waaaaaaaayyyy off shore looking for steel on sunday. As expected we had a solid bite out there of steelhead and 2 year old Kings, and our last fish of the day was low 20s Mature dark King which was a nice surprise. On monday we stayed inside with the fleet looking for matures and worked it west in 95-105 fow. Great picture in there but we struggled like everyone else. Of the 7 bites we had, we managed only 1 mature King.
  6. I also use mag rings on my dipseys and it helps them track better.
  7. bigger is better with cutbait.
  8. Great fishing continues from Sandy Creek. Great picture inside of 100 fow all this week and unreal amount of bait showed up in there yesterday. The cold water inshore almost guarantees a mixed bag as was the case yesterdays trip. 17 bites inshore w/ Kings, Browns, Bows, and Lakers all hitting the deck. Blood Run 300' coppers pulling flasher flies and Blood Run divers pulling flasher flies produced the majority of King and Steelhead action while the riggers pulling a mix of spoons produced the Browns and Lakers. 3 dark matures today over 22# with the biggest just under 27#.
  9. An Okuma Convector 55 will easily fit 300'-450' of Blood Run copper, braid backer, and fluorocarbon leader. Church tx44s work pretty good with smaller sections of copper but big section you will need to run big boards.
  10. and there is never fish there!
  11. Stay tuned... the DEC would like to do a Coho fin clipping study after the chinook study is complete.
  12. The amount of "wild fish" ive boated this year scares me and i have a very tough time believing the numbers we are told. Truth is... more wild fish will eventually = less stocked fish. The DEC has already admitted they had an issue tagging fish with the trailer in year 3 and and their 1-3% number of fish not getting clipped was way off. And because of an issue, none of this years stocked fish were even clipped. I dont put too much faith in the clipping trailer or of the DECs salmon study. I think it should give us some very cool info but certainly not enough information to make future fishery decisions.
  13. Contingency plan? Whats that? When the DEC has been asked about this (at the state of the lake), they have had no answer. Lack of state funds= no contingency.
  14. and dont forget the first mate!
