  12. dirtyworm, If you take your captains class through seatech marine training besides them teaching you what you need to know to pass the uscg test they will assist you in everything you need to get your license including your license application, drug testing, redcross certifications, etc.
  13. Thanks guys! Had a great day on the lake. The bite was pretty good all day but the big ones bit early for me. It was good to see our crew do really well out there. The guy with the perch, that was the crazy thing of the day 5 perch = 7.33#. wow! I thought they really did a great job with the kids. Free rods for all the kids and raffles also.

  18. Losing the coating off the cable isnt that big of a deal. Every season before the boat hits the water one of the things i do is cut back all of my rigger cables and reattach them and because of this every year i start fresh with my coated cable. MAYBE one more time during the season i cut my coated cable back and reattach it. It tends to be the last 1.5' that tends to get damaged. i fix it in "fear" that im going to lose signal the next time out but truth is ive never seen the negative effects of losing the coating off the cable. I have my probe setup so it is detachable from the rigger, no waterproof tape, lots of bare metal showing, and absolutely no problems.
  19. Heres the top 3 to take a look at: Moor Sub-Troll: http://www.moorelectronics.com/fishing/fishing.html Depth Raider: http://www.kelloutdoors.com/Depth%20Rai ... onitor.htm FishHawk X4: http://store.fishhawkelectronics.com/Pr ... ta-System/ These three units are (in my opinion, of course) the top 3 units out there and are the most popular. I personally I run a Moor Sub-Troll and love it. The coated cable isnt a big deal at all.
  20. Let us know how you make out!
  21. Makes you appreciate salmon and trout fishing that much more!
  22. Isnt that the truth! Have the boat surveyed, and hopefully it will answer all your questions.
