For chasing browns you can get away with anything from 8-15#. Things will get real exciting when you hook into something else when fishing really light line.

Tournament ties all the way! Personally I have seen improved hook ups since I started using them.

seasonal docking boat at Sandy creek Hamlin?
Legacy replied to pleasure unit's topic in Open Lake Discussion
pleasure unit, that other post that tom mentioned should help. Water depth is not a problem in the creek or in marinas. The bridge is the only real restriction but I would say bridge clearance is about 12' (It has been known to shorten some outriggers). Plenty of room for most boats! -
It sounds similar to ice fishing for motorcycles on I-Bay

Requirement to get a captains license?
Legacy replied to pleasure unit's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Pleasure unit, The best advice i can give you is to go through a captains course like the one offered by Sea tech marine training. If you have your mind set in getting your license than its really the best way to do it. Youll learn that there is alot to it and they will walk you through the process from start to finish. http://www.seatechmarinetraining.com/ heres a list of requirements: red cross cpr certified red cross first aid certified character references- http://www.seatechmarinetraining.com/docs/character.pdf drug test sea service form- http://www.seatechmarinetraining.com/do ... vessel.pdf physical- http://www.seatechmarinetraining.com/do ... ysical.pdf pass exam application - http://www.seatechmarinetraining.com/do ... cation.pdf Hope this helps! -

Legacy replied to slapshot's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I dont think theres a "wrong" way to run this rig. It has produced for me in all combinations. Ive run it with a small spoon on top w/ a larger on the bottom, large spoon up top w/ smaller spoon on the bottom, same size spoon top and bottom. -

1st trip of '09!
Legacy replied to Yankee Troller's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
And to add to the story because nothing can be easy... When we returned to the launch and we fished out the license plate that had broken off, who was waiting for us on land? A DEC officer and park police officer wanting to do a safety equipment check on the boat, wanting to see some licenses, etc. Never a dull moment! -

Pen Rearing Information Pen rearing projects around the lake aid in the stocking efforts of both Steelhead and Chinook Salmon. Pen rearing allows these fish to "smolt" and to grow to larger sizes before their release date. Unlike direct stocking, pen rearing increases survival and returns rates of these fish. These programs exist today because of the strong relationship between the DEC and the project's volunteers. Please contact me if this information needs to be updated! ________________________________________________________________ Sandy Creek Pen Rearing Project Capt Rob Westcott - coordinator 585-703-0969 email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SandyCreekPenRearingProject The Sandy Creek pen site is located at: Hamlin, NY, 14464 Genesee River Pen Rearing Project Capt Sam Zucco - coordinator 585-663-4333 email [email protected] http://www.geneseecharterboat.com The Genesee River pen site is located at: Shumway Marina 40 Marina Dr Rochester, NY 14617 Olcott Pen Rearing Project LOTSA -coordinator [email protected] The Olcott pen site is located at: Town of Newfane Marina 5818 West Main Street Olcott, New York 14126 (716) 778-5462 Fair Haven Pen Rearing Project Werner Stenger and Phil Lucason - coordinators cell 315-532-2859 cell 315-709-9958 email [email protected] [email protected] The Fair Haven pen site is located at: Bayside Marina and Turtle Cove King St. Fair Haven NY 315-947-5331 Lower Niagara River Pen Rearing Project Paul Jackson - coordinator 716-731-4780 OR 998-8910 Niagara River Anglers Association http://www.Niagarariveranglers.com email [email protected] The Lower Niagara pen site is located at: Constitution Park Youngstown, NY Oak Orchard Pen Rearing Project Capt Bob Songin - coordinator 585-621-7878 email [email protected] http://www.attheoak.com/ The Oak Orchard pen site is located at: Lake Breeze Marina 990 Point Breeze Rd Kent, NY 14477 Oswego Pen Rearing Project Tom Allen- coordinator 315-207-0391 email- [email protected] The Oswego pen site is located at: Oswego Marina (East Side) 3 Basin Street. 315-342-0436 Sodus Bay Pen Rearing Project Jim Mehegan (315)945-1314 email: [email protected]. The second the creeks unfreeze and you can get to them, (like Yankee said) they are there. Concentrate your efforts on the colored water near shore and the warmest water you can find this time of year. Stickbaits, and small spoons off planer boards are great plan of attack. Try to be as stealthy as you can in the shallow water w/ light line and long leads. Dont worry 10thmtndave those fish will still be in there when you get home. Early in May were still pounding the shoreline for browns but fortunately by the end of the month were offshore alittle fishing for kings.
