another fantastic day of fishing out of sandy. the weather conditions very similar to yesterday but alittle warmer and less windy.
spent the morning fishing the same area as yesterday (in 90 fow) and almost the same report as yesterdays. ended the day 18 for 21 (mixed bag of steelies, cohos, 1 laker (loc fish), and kings (nothing over 15#). nk super spook, dl28 kevorkian, stinger chart nbk, green glow nk, all took fish off the riggers 35'-87' down. leadcore alone was 4 for 6 -nk dl 28 kevorkin and nk purple/chart 28. dipsey rod took 1 fish all day and it was the big king of the day- 150' nbk spin doctor and green fly.

scott- i would say yesterday was the most boats ive seen out there all year (but that might not be saying much). i mean even the president of your fan club was fishing for god sakes.
freman- the fishing has definetely picked up in the past couple of weeks. ill be fishing this morning too

beautiful morning with plenty of boats out. spent the majority of the day working 90 fow (48.1 degrees on the surface and the down temp wasnt much different).
ended the day 11 for 14, mostly kings w/ a few steelies mixed in. biggest king of the day was 22#. leadcore 5 colors, riggers 25'-85' (top to bottom) ,and dumped 1 on the wire rod early (spin doctor and fly 150' ). stinger nbk 65', super spook mag 75'+, and stinger chart nbk 37' were all hot. greens and chart seemed to be the choice colors. lots of action before 9am and then someone turned the switch off.

thanks tom!
gene, i figured it was you in the other boat. between us, you, and fish bandit we seem to have the lake to ourselves. more than glad to share info with you, glad it put a fish in the boat for you.

just an all around great day of fishing. ended the day 11 for 14 w/ 2 steelies, 1 slob laker , and the rest kings (up to 15#). worked 90-140 fow (leadcore 5 colors, riggers 35-90'). mag size lazer spooks took the majority of the fish. (the fish just seemed to want mag size spoons)

nice to hear that. it really does wonders for the fishery.

whats the reason for hating wire?
-
welcome to the site!

i would say its the battery. my cable is missing about 3' of coating and it still works fine, so i wouldnt think it was that. i just sounds like its lacking signal strength.

hey rick congrats on your loc fish. by the looks of the pics you kept your crew happy too.

hey chad what do you think?

hey blue eyes, i think ray is on to something. how about a tips and tricks section or a terminal tackle reference? we could post the most popular questions like a reference page, similar to the tackle description. for example- tims famous wire knot or the wilis knot. what do you think ray? anyone else like this idea?

2 for 3 this morning (leadcore, rigger, flatline) all steelies nothing with any great size. 70-80 fow the top 20 ft produced. on the radio mostly steelies caught, a few browns , and 1 mid teens king.
-
10-20 knot wind out of the NE creating a 2-4' chop
setup in 50-60 fow (surface temp 45.6 degrees) with a great screen. quickly hooked into a bow off the board- black and chrome stick 150' back. that depth seemed to be unproductive so traveled a little deeper (80') w/ the same outcome. slid in shallow (8', surface temp 46.9 degrees) and managed 1 small but extremely overstuffed brownie off the rigger.

the water is starting to set up but for the most part the surface temp is in the mid 40s

seriously it was like a graveyard out there sat and i fished with silverfox on sunday and it was even worse)
wow you lost 2 10 color, that sucks.ever think of installing a potato gun on your rig. i agree with you though you gotta have it in the water cause it will produce.

nice fish rick, hope it sticks for you.
