  1. Worth every penny. I own a pile of them and send them back to get factory sharpened once they get dull. Never a full knife on the boat. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. No no no. This is the Cutco Salmon knife. https://www.cutco.com/products/product.jsp?item=salmon-knife Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Hands down... Cutco... Forever guaranteed! We have a number of them on the boat and ship them back to be factory sharpened as needed Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Best thing to do is to reach out to the tournaments that require observers. They may have a list they can put you on just in case a team is looking for one. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Magda offer you a great price point to get in the game. Of course there is better options but if you have a limited budget then they are the way to go!
  6. Dont forget Sodus and Wilson projects were cut also...
  7. I think I have tried every diver and diver combination you can probably try at this point. Just find what works best for you and compliments your spread the best. I played with slide divers for years in every scenario imaginable but they never caught more fish then my other diver setups so they never earned their place. For example: Skinny water (inside of 30 fow)- My preferred diver setup is 65# braid diver rod with a Chinook Diver and a 12' fluoro leader. Deep water (outside of 30 fow)- My preferred diver setup is 30# wire diver rod with a standard Diver w/ mag ring and a 12' fluoro leader.
  8. I guess it could be done. The TV show certainly helped grow the popularity of it. The Salmon Showdown TV followed the Lake Ontario Pro Am series about ten years ago and it has also filmed the WHI. Problem is the tv show charges the tournaments to do it. I think at this point there is a ton of tournament that offer a series to fish. King of the Oak is four events, Bald Eagle has five events, Lake Ontario ProAm cup is three events, the Atommik Triple Crown, and also the Lake Ontario Championship Series which encompasses many events. Pick your poison!!!
  9. read this... it will answer a lot of questions... feel free to contact me
  10. Im not sold on it. I like the more aggressive dive curve of 45# copper and weighted steel just doesn't compare. Don't be misled. Weighted steel's dive curve is similar to 32# copper not 45#. With that being said I would prefer using 32# copper over steel. FYI there are other companies selling weighted steel including Blood Run Tackle. https://bloodruntackle.com/
  11. Not a chance in hell!!!
  12. Keep it to fishing guys... posts have been deleted.
  13. First blood award of 2021... got a doe with my truck this morning!!! UGGGGGGGG!!!!
  14. We want you as a member of the Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association!!! Whether you are a captain, a guide, a recreational angler, a sponsoring association, a stakeholder, or just someone who has a passion for the Lake Ontario fishery our association is for you. https://lakeontariocharterboatassociation.com/sign-up/ Our History- A few years ago the merger between the two largest charter boat clubs on the south shore (the Genesee Charter Boat Association and the Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association) took place. The club decided that it would be in our best interest to assume the name "Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association" and when this happened, the idea to create the premier charter boat association on Lake Ontario, was born. What is the "purpose" of our organization? The purpose of "LOCBA" is to advance the charter boat industry on Lake Ontario and also increase sport fishing opportunities on the lake by: -Representing and articulating the views on issues affecting quality angling and the charter boat industry on Lake Ontario. -Interacting with governmental regulatory and management agencies whose policies and programs might impact the Lake Ontario fishery. -Setting standards of conduct to insure the integrity of the charter boat industry on Lake Ontario -Acting as a mechanism for education of the angling public and for the exchange information among charter boat operators and related associations. Meetings- Our general meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend. 25. Really weather and ice are the only deterrent out there. You can fish all winter long. The guys with inboards and I/Os will start putting their boats in sometime in April/May. If we get some good weather then Im in late March or Early April. I always shoot for April 1st.
