  6. I double up on rubber bands and yes I set the releases so they release. Fish rarely ever release them on their own. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. If the boat stays in the water this might be enough but removing after each use creates it's own challenges. A heated garage would be great otherwise winterizing again is the only answer to be safe. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. Any of those choices will work but wire is my pick.
  11. Hey guys, they are available from Dreamweaver... https://www.dreamweaverlures.com/product/3-pack-quick-change-competition/
  12. Changing which hole you use on the backside and also the front side also dictates the amount of action your fly gets. slow action vs fast action. This can also be done by changing fly leaders lengths. Spin Doctors are insanely tunable.
  13. Nah! Plenty of thing to overthink but this isnt one of them. The stock swivels are just fine.
  14. Yes but i find that they arent necessary. The only real advantage I gain from double keels is the additional weight keeps the boards tracking better in rough seas.

  16. 150-200 ft is more than enough. I just split the spool in half. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Here try this https://www.fishusa.com/PowerPro-Spectra-Downrigger-Cable-Replacement
  18. Really any 200-250# braid will do. Ive used power pro and along with others and see no major difference for the application. There is only a few makers in the world for it so it really doesnt matter.
  19. Traditional.... like dacron? Im currently using 200# braid. Comparing braid to dacron isnt even fair. 1- braid doesn't absorb water 2- zero stretch 3- smaller diameter 4- releases slide better 5- lasts longer 6- durability dacron tends to get water soak and sag in the water. Once your towline starts sagging in the water then your boards tend to lag. Never an issue with braid.
  20. Weight doesnt matter its all about performance. Most boards do the job but attention needs to be paid on proper setup. Tough to beat the performance of the Big Jons using braid as towline.
  21. depends... wooden boards are all different sizes. Curious, why does weight matter?
  22. Big Jon Otter Boats all the way. They are literally in the water every day I am out.
  23. Agreed. Cant say enough about the job he does.
