  1. Left the dock just after 5:30 this morning. Decided to run north and set up in around 90 feet. Best screen was in 150-200 ft. Worked that area (36 to 39 W) til about 9:30 when we called it a morning. Picked up (dragged?) a ~10 lb laker on a mupped Spook on the deep rigger . Switched that out for a Brad's Cut Bait with a 11" flasher and immediately picked up a small king. That was it for the riggers. In about 170' I picked up a ~8 lb steelhead on a Cat. Valium Spin Dr. with Sweet Pea fly on the 225 wire dipsy. Reset that rig and picked up a nice major king on the same setup just before calling it quits. Finished 4 for 4 and back at the dock at around 10:00 to work on the boat a little. Screen all morning long from 150-180: Dan struggling to hold the nice king before release. No time to weigh her:
  2. Didn't leave the dock until just after 6pm today. Took out my buddy Dan and his 10 year old daughter Julia for her first Lake O salmon trip. Ran straight out and set up in 80 feet and worked out deeper from there. In about 90 feet the screen started to light up. Worked 90 to 125 feet for over an hour before Julia's first salmon, a skipper on a Brad's cut plug behind a 10" flasher on the deep rigger. Shortly after we had a nice rip on the wire and Dan landed a nice teenager on a Crazy B!tch Spin Doctor / Fly combo. Just before dusk Julia was the first to notice the center rigger go, and skillfully landed another nice teenager again on the Brad's off the deep rigger. The first teenager had a very large lamprey attached (it's much smaller now) and the second teenager had a funky jaw - see below. Couldn't get a spoon to go. All in all not a bad night of fishing (3 for 3) for a couple of hours. I think Julia will be back out with us. This was just my second trip out with the new boat. So far it has performed awesome for me. I'm very happy with her - just need to sell the old one now... Julia and me with her King:
  3. Just have the SL175's left. Make an offer.
  4. Bump. Added "Or Best Offer" to the original post. Gotta pay for the new boat!
  5. Bump. New information added in original post in RED.
  6. Well, almost nobody uses them any more. Take a look here for the knot that most of us use now: http://www.lotsa.org/Wire%20Line%20Knot.htm Never had a problem with this knot.
  7. New (to me) boat is a 2007 Baha Cruisers 277 GLE with a single inboard. 192 hours - barely broken in.
  8. Nice app Rick. Thanks for posting.
  9. Yoda - No wife - thus the 3 boats. Not interested in trades (or wives ). My boat before the Wellcraft was a 21' Trophy. Only reason I traded it was the Force motor was undersized and getting impossible to get parts for.
  10. Here is the boat I brought back from PA today. My house looks like a marina, as I have this boat, the Wellcraft, and my Aluminum boat all in my driveway. Just need to move my Cannons over (previous owner kept the Big Jons). Should have it floating by the weekend if all goes well. I really need to get the Wellcraft moving, so if you know someone looking, please have them contact me. The NEW Trophy Seeker!
  11. Updated pricing.
  12. Bump. New boat coming Sunday. Wellcraft will be back on the trailer next week. Please contact me if you want to take a look.
  13. I think you will be very happy with the 2-piece M action. We use these from springtime browns to summer/fall kings. I fish with pretty light tackle, and don't think I would use the light action for fall kings.
  14. I don't believe the BWD 1101 2-piece is available in a MH. I think it is only available in M. That is what mine are.
  15. Here you go. Scroll down to Spoon Pouches. I have the large version and really like it. http://www.amishoutfitters.com/ BTW - I have (2) SeaLine 47LCA's for sale on this board: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19245
  16. Well I have 8 of the rods that kliph mentioned and I really like them. I have 4 rigged with light line for browns and 4 rigged with 20# flea-flicker for this time of the year. I think the 1 piece lighter action rods would be great for browns, but I'm not sure about the big guys. I do like fishing with lighter tackle, so maybe they would be o-k. I do find the 2-piece medium action rods to be a great general purpose rigger rod. I had an assortment of 8.5' rigger rods, and after the first time I tried these on a buddy's boat I went out and bought them.
  17. What Gambler said...

  19. After 10 faithful years of service, I have decided to upgrade to a larger boat, and am selling my 1999 Wellcraft 24 Walkaround. I am selling as a pretty complete package - minus downriggers. This boat was purchased new by me late in the year 1999, and not put into service until 2000. It has been used for walleye fishing in Canadian lakes and for Trout/Salmon in Lake Ontario. This package includes: - 1999 Evinrude 200 HP Ficht (Fuel Injected & Oil Injected) with stainless prop and aluminum spare. Low hours (no hourmeter - but hourmeter built in to motor. I'm guessing 200-300 hours). All trolling has been done with kicker. Max speed ~ 45 mph, cruising speed ~32-35 mph. - 1996 (new in 2000) Johnson 9.9 4-stroke kicker with remote controls and Troll Master Pro speed control. Steering bracket to connect to main motor. - Atlantic Towers Hardtop w/ Rocket Launcher and Full Canvas Enclosure (new last year). - Full trailering cockpit cover. - Eagle tandem axle trailer with new brakes installed this year and new tires last year with spare. - Raymarine DS600X 6" Color Fishfinder with Transom Mount Transducer. - Standard Horizon CP180 6" Color Chart Plotter with Great Lakes Cartography & External Antenna. - Depth Raider Down Speed and Temp. - Raymarine Sport Pilot + with Linear Rudder Reference. - VHF Radio and Antenna. - 4' Traxstech Track on each gunwale. - Sony AM/FM Stereo CD with 6 Speakers - VaccuFlush Head - Stove (removed to allow storage) - Sink (freshwater) - Shore Power with Onboard 2-Bank Guest Smart Battery Charger - Raw Water Washdown - Anchor (no rope) - XM Radio and Marine Antenna (you supply subscription) Probably a bunch more stuff that I am forgetting. I will take more pictures this week. Current Photo with Hardtop and Enclosure: Older Photo Showing Trailer and Cover (Cover still fits around Hardtop): Photo of Electronics: Asking $20,000 OBO for the complete package - just add downriggers. At this point I am not willing to separate. NEW! If interested - I can add (3) Cannon Mag 10 Downriggers on Traxstech swivel bases and (2) triple Tite-Lok Rod Holders for a complete turnkey package. Just add water. New boat is in the water. All reasonable offers considered. Please reply here or send PM, and I will answer questions as quickly as possible.
  20. John, I have 4 Daiwa Accudepth Plus 47LC reels available. $40 each. Give me a call at 585-739-7608 or PM if interested.
  21. Shade, What is the discount code to get that 10%?
  22. Here is my opinion. I'm not sure all will agree. I think the Boat Derby was just about perfect, running concurrently with the Summer Derby. However, I think it should be a fixed price of $250 per boat. I'm not convinced that charter boats should have to pay more. Typically they fish 2-3 charters a week. Should we charge retired people more because they have the ability to fish more than those of us that get out usually only 1 day per weekend? It seems obvious to me that the charter captains didn't really support the current format based on the fact that only 18 boats had entered. If the payout were $1000/day ($500 salmon, $500 trout), and an entry fee of $250/boat, for 30 days we would need 120+ (the "+" is the pay to LOC) boats work. The question is - would 120+ boats enter? Based on the this link and the other regarding this derby, there seems to be some interest, but I don't know about getting 10 times the number of registered boats next time...
  23. Not needed on a Tekota. They have a little stud in the center of the spool that you attach your line to. This prevents any slippage, and allows you to spool wire on tightly.
  24. "but refunding the 18 boats entry fees was the only prudent thing to do" Hard to believe only 18 boats entered (I do believe you Dave, just very surprised). I would have expected about 1/2 of the summer LOC derby boats to enter. I am disappointed, as so far this was the only derby I am aware of that I could, on a whim, go out by myself after work, and have a chance to enter a fish. One of my friends entered the summer derby just because I had entered the boat derby, so if nothing else maybe this event helped increase the summer LOC entries...
  25. Bummer!!! Received a refund e-mail and found this on the LOC web-site: DUE TO THE LACK OF INTEREST THE LOC BOAT DERBY IS CANCELLED. If you signed up by credit card, your card will be credited today, June 18th and if you signed up by mail or at a weigh station/registration outlet, your refund check will be mailed out today.
