Good weekend for me, but not for my gear
FISHINMAN replied to Missdemeanor's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Ray check with Musky on the Barbie pole, I think he took it with him after the last Pro Am (he said that's what you guys were using for rods since they were strong enough to handle the fish you were catching ). He told me he could pair it up with his "Ken Pole" and run them down off the riggers on the same side to attract fish to that side of the boat I lost one spoon this past weekend (my last Get Ur Done which has been replaced after hitting CC yesterday ) but could have done even more damage. I had the riggers cross and had to do some serious maneuvering in the back of the boat to get back my probe, 15 and 12 lb weights with only the help of a newbie . Lucky for me I only have to cut back a few feet of coated cable that got frayed in the mess and I will be good to go! -
Great pictures Matt

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Salmo Charters ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/22 Time on Water4hrs Weather/Temp: over cast 75 Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1ft or less Surface Temp: 71 Location: Just west of port LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): 25 to 26 line =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 15 Total Boated: 12 Species Breakdown: Kings, coho's and steelhead Hot Lure: Pickle aka DW pk kovorkian Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.5 - 2.8 Boat Depth: 160 - 260 Lure Depth: 44- 72 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Got a chance to get out for a few hours with Captain Carl Bish on his Salmo Charters boat on Tuesday out of the OAK in the morning along with his father Carl Sr and my son in law Mike. We hit the water at 5:30 and headed out to 160fow and dropped the first rod down 72 on the rigger. Carl no sooner set it in the holder and it was off and running. Threw my son in law on the rod and he landed a this nice 13 lb king Circled the area and manged to pick a up few more fish. Headed north a bit and took a few more fish including some nice coho's over 10# and some nice steelies including one that had been in the creek very recently which was long, thin and had some nice pink color on it still. Here's a couple of the bows: We were running out of time with the rain coming and as Mike was reeling in another bow we had this 16# king hit. This bad a$$ decided to stay down then just take off across the back of the boat and then straight out 200+ feet without stopping 200 copper took 3 fish with a small orange dodger and fly combo and , 300 copper with a Moonshine carbon 14 took 1 fish and the 44 foot rigger with a Dream Weaver PK glow Kevorkian aka Pickle as Carl would call it and the 72 foot rigger with a Moonshine Raptor were the hot riggers. Had 1 shot on a wire out 200 and did zero fish on sliders Made us some nice steak, egg and cheese sandwiches on crusty bread in the morning (still warm when we ate them ) and had a great time fishing and talking with Carl, his dad and my son in law even though I had to listen to bust my chops the whole time out there about "ethically releasing" 2 fish one that jumped and spit the hook and the one that was off before I even got the wire rod out of the holder

Jeff how much for the washing machine -
James I was shocked when I saw this post from a year ago pop up and then one from 2 years ago too in the ice fishing reports, but I think we are not talking about two different "Loon Lakes". This Loon lake and the one in the other post you responded to is located in Wayland NY which is about 1 hour south of Rochester NY. There are no rainbows in that lake at all. Welcome to the site though

Vic my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Having gone through this same thing just a couple years back with my mom I know exactly what you are going through. Like Brian said if you need somebody to talk with we are here and you've got my number.

WOW...you guys are unbelievable! You **** about the meager payouts so we make changes to make the payouts bigger. Bigger payouts can ONLY come from more publicity and BIG sponsors. Our own TV show will attract those bigger sponsors resulting in bigger payouts resulting in more people bringing more money into the communities but yet you guys **** about that too. Has it occurred to ANY of you that the tournament is still run almost entirely by volunteers who have other jobs to do? When we posted results quickly without checking and cross checking the numbers you guys **** that no one knew what they were doing and the numbers were all wrong. If an error was made in the Challenge Cup points we were deluged with irate phone calls. Has it occurred to ANY of you that the tournament is still run almost entirely by volunteers who have other jobs to do? We are taking the time the make sure ALL of the numbers are right so you guys have nothing to **** about. But, then again, I'm confident you'll find something to complain about. The Series has enlisted the help of our very own Chad Lapa (Blueye) to assist with web updates. Now that you all know that you can bash Chad on his own website! UNBELIEVABLE! Paul , I don't think anybody is "****" at you guys running the Pro Am's, just looking at getting something that seems very simple to a lot of us done in a reasonable amount of time which I think even you would think 24 hours is plenty of. I have been in Maryland since Sunday morning and was interested in how friends of mine that were fishing had done without calling each of them. Like I had said, it was 5:07 pm MONDAY when I was checking, not 5:07 pm on SUNDAY! You had at least 1 "BIG" sponsor in A-TOM-MIK who as he stated had paid out nearly $4,000 or $5,000 in both sponsorship and awards if I remember correctly and they got lets just say "PINCHED" to be nice, just before the Pro Am started. I think that's probably not the way to "attract" more "BIG" sponsors I think the best thing you have done here is enlist Chad because the way he and the MODERATORS aka "volunteers that have other jobs to do" run this site which is GREAT! Haven't heard any ***** about the way this site is run! Bruce excellent idea in just posting it as Unofficial results I think you are only going to get so many Pro and AM teams to sign up because of the expenses and time involved to participate no matter how much you show a clip on a TV. Maybe I am wrong but how much business do you get in your taxidermy business because of the premier workmanship you do (which is great by the way having seen it in person compared to a picture) and by word of mouth from satisfied customers as opposed to an expensive paid ad in a magazine? Just my last 2 cents. Still had a great time in the two AM's I took place in

I fished 2 of the events and agree with the point that Tom made about the boards being visible. It's hard to even get a picture of them at times. It's Monday at 5:07pm, I am in Maryland wanting to k now how some of the guys I know did and the results are still not posted on their site ??? Ray could get them posted faster than that (all be it most not spelled correctly ) typing with his 10 thumbs he has then these people seem to be able to do. Is it that hard to set up an Excel table type in a name and scores and post it? it's not like they have to put in 1,000 names and scores, it's what around 100? Sounds like this "committee" ( ) has other things to work on instead of worrying about camera crews on boats and what a team name has to be 2 weeks before the Pro -Am start! Seems like they are more worried about becoming this huge national tournament that everybody knows about instead of just trying to make it a great run tournament that guys will want to take part in.
