  1. Nice job Brian used to love when that happened What no bottle or change on the reel
  2. Might have been a small king, I didn't mess with it wanted to get it back in right away Kinda a funny shaped fish was porky, short and huge eyes. That combat stuff in front of Sandy was nuts with Jax right on top of me
  3. i would't run right out that far off shore this time of year , if you have temp in 150fow id start there and head north ,you'll probley hit em in the 150 too 250 fow . Fish out deep on Tuesday were coming out of temp. Fish were hitting in 60+ degree temps . I didn't look at any of the waters off Sandy between 35 and 350 fow because I knew the fish were gonna be active out deep so I just motored straight out, but it might be good to at least take a peek in the 70-150 area. Good luck
  4. Took the grand kids to the pond across from there house in NC when I was on vacation a couple weeks ago. After spending over an hour the night before untangling 2 of the reels (couldn't believe that you could get as much line as I pulled out of a Zebco 33 into a Zebco 33 ) and then buying a third so there was no fighting over them and some worms hit the mostly mucky seaweed cover pond . Did a bunch of gills, 1 LG bass about 1lb and landed 1 carp about 15lbs on the "JUNIOR FIELD TESTER" rod and reel combo Let the kids fight it a few times each before it broke off at shore (couldn't get close enough to grab it with all the muck and mud) The best fun was the second day there when my 8 year old grandson was bringing in his bobber from about 10 feet from shore when a fish (pretty sure it was another carp) just crushes his worm . I didn't even have time to step towards him. All I heard and saw was ZZZZZZZZZZZZIP SNAP and a scared, shocked look on his face ! Fish gone Still can't believe he held onto the pole We then watched as the fish moved all around the pond with the bobber going up, down, in, out all over the place. It was like the scene from Jaws with the barrels They/we got such a kick out of watching it for the next hour before we left. Here's a few pics of the kids with the fish and doing there Jimmy Houston imitations "kissing the fish" This grandpa could not have been happier Looking forward to doing that again next time down!
  5. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Fishinman ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9/21 Time on Water: 5hrs Weather/Temp: Over cast 75 degrees Wind Speed/Direction: south 10mph Waves: 0-1ft Surface Temp: 65 degrees Location: Sandy creek to the Pump House LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6 Total Boated: 6 Species Breakdown: 4 Kings, 2 bows Hot Lure: Bloody Nose J- Plug and green and white NK with black dots and glow ladder Trolling Speed: 2.5 - 2.9 gps Down Speed: 2- 2.5 Boat Depth: 18- 470 ft Lure Depth: 7 - 60 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Hit the water at about 7am going solo. I was planning on just sticking out front for a bit then heading off shore. Saw a few fish splash in the creek. Not any other boats out yet I new Jax was coming out soon so I wanted to get going before the combat fishing started . Set up in 15fow with a bloody nose J-plug down 2 ft and a glow with black ladder J-plug down 13 feet both back 20ft. Saw a couple fish surface in 20 fow so I let the bloody nose back to 40ft and within 1 minute I was hooked up with a screamer that I had to thumb a bit to slow down as it wanted to spool me I was down to that line that you don't normally see, you know the shiny looking stuff! Got it slowed up and I see out of the corner of my eye the other rod starting to bang and I thought, here we go lets have some fun. DOUBLED UP with 2 screamers Of course they cross but I manage to get them uncrossed . Get the first one in the boat unhook it and let it go, then it's time to get the other one that has stopped screaming but in the time I was unhooking the first and letting it go the boat turns and the line is now over the top of the boat and in front of it I give the boat a turn and start to reel. get it back behind the boat and it makes another good run. Tucker it out and in it comes. 2 for 2 and it's only been 20 minutes get the lines set, see that Jax has now joined in and it's combat time!! Notice this one was sitting on the bottom with it's red belly I hook up again right away on the bloody nose and that bad boy was off to the races like it's nobody's business Get it in too and it's 3 for 3 in the first 45 minutes . Sorry about the blurry pic Well that was it trolled for another hour or so and then it was off shore time. Talked to Jax and got some info from him about the few he had caught. Didn't mark much except for the fish that were showing up like this : Yankee Troller kind of fishing Got a this king to go that fought great made 2 or 3 great runs This lure was hot for me all year Managed to this steelie to hit on the "FX improved sea sick waddler" that I stuck out there, Started to pull lines and had this "MONSTER" take my free slider That's right the same size as the rod holder 470 fow water seemed to be the best picture for me until I pulled lines at 425. Screen looked good there on the way back in. Couldn't get the wire to go at all with flasher flies but Jax did manage a few fish on spoons behind the dipsey After not fishing the Big O since the Friday before labor Day I had a great time and it sucks that it's coming to an end soon. I hope to get out at least 1 or 2 more time weather permitting

In 11 weeks then we will see who's on top again!
