  6. Congrats!! I remember that day like it was yesterday. What was that other sites name? Thanks to Steve and Mark whom I met just over 6 years ago and to all of you guys that have kept it going. Chad you've do a remarkable job of improving the site and to the moderators for keeping us in line and most of the the bad people (RYA K) out
  7. I got some video and trust me
  8. Ray it certainly came across the wrong way to me (it bothered me all day) and I don't think you should have written anything at all unless you were gonna write your "better than Scotty's derby trip one" that you intend to write. I wasn't the only person who read that post and came across with the same opinion of it the way I did. I certainly didn't expect that post from you and it was kinda "hidden" in that other thread. I am sure we all expected something a little more humorous after yesterday. I too would certainly have volunteered to help Jerry out but you had already done that by the time I got there. It's just one of those better left unsaid things, that should have been done. My mom used to say "if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all" This was a case for that and I have fallen into that as much as others. I will wait to read and laugh about your recap of Sunday when you get back. Good luck out there I might be out there with Shawn Wednesday morning and stay safe Like I said I still love ya and how much for the rollers
  9. Not that Jerry needs any defending of what happened yesterday by any stretch of the imagination but I felt that the post by Ray K (under "this thread will never die") whether he did or didn't mean to offend him it came across that way . I feel as a friend and the guy that sort of got this "fun time" charter on Sunday started I should speak up I still love ya Ray, just don't like the way it the post came across. The "fictitious" Charter Captain was a responsible charter captain and did not put his clients in a bad situation and tell them they were there on the wrong date which they were (I did see his calender and they were scheduled on the 23rd not this past Sunday weekend) and did what any responsible business owner would do and made his returning customers happy. He could have called his wife and woke her at 5:30 am to check the calender, but then what he tells his returning customers they are wrong? Thanks for driving here, now leave I am taking some friends out? I think that makes him A VERY RESPONSIBLE CHARTER CAPTAIN! I thought under the circumstances at 5:30am he did a great job and all the rest of us (Tank, Keith, Keith, Shawn and Jason) had a great time, met and made new friends on other boats. After we came back and shot the breeze laughed at what had happened, talked some fishing looked at Brian's leaning boat and ate, I personally was asked to fish on Tank, Jason or Keith's boat again this week if I want to get out for a few hours in the AM I don't recall Jerry ever saying " thanks for being here but i have a scheduled charter for today you can go home now" What we all did was make a fun situation out of a sticky and embarrassing situation for Jerry who was truly frazzled by it. I thought he handled it very well and was more than apologetic and as bummed as the rest of us who were going on his boat for some fun and for myself, Keith and Shawn a time to learn and pick the brain of an established Lake Ontario Charter Captain who fishes the exact waters that we primarily fish. Jerry you get the from the rest of us and can't wait to do on another weekend and it will be even more of an honor to fish with you now.
  10. Nice big guy Mick congrats. Glad to see ya got into at least 1 big today FX and I got 4 fish before we could get our 4th rod into the water and then 2 more about 45 minutes later but that was it. 1 teenage king, 1 steelie , 2 small kings, 1 skipper and a brown about 7lbs on the wire right off the bat. Sounded a little quieter than yesterdays action as far as big guys go
  11. Carl that's awesome Glad you were able to use a few tricks that I taught ya Should be out in the AM with FX/Shawn we'll give ya a shout
  12. Ray they don't "pull you over" like the police they ask if you were out fishing and then ask if you caught any (your answer would be NO and if you have them and they would like to see them. Then they measure and ask a bunch of questions like, why do you do you have 9 fish in your cooler when you are fishing by yourself and send you on your way. They are at I-Bay a lot and at the Genny quite a bit from what I remember when I was fishing out that way. P. S by the way the sign says "Angler SURVEY"
  13. Tank nice job. I fished in the Am and was battling to get fish to take a bite at what I was offering did manage 4 fish nothing bigger than 13# or so, lost 3 others too . That tall ship was out there when I was out in the morning too heading west really slow. You said the current was outa the NW? I had my port side rigger ball cross over the starboard side once when heading on a south troll. It was wicked from east to west for me. Lake looks a little nicer than when I was coming in at 1:30pm. Winds were all over the place all day SW nice chop then S calm then SW again for about 1/2 hr where it got a little bumpy then straight W at like 15mph. I agree with temps they were goofy. 225 - 235 FOW was our best area.
  14. nice job Tank. I hope I am not a day late and a few fish short because I couldn't get out today
  15. Rob for Pete's sake will ya crack a smile? Your starting to look like YT
  16. Great to hear your home my friend. A little rehab with some nurse (hope it's a female ) and you'll be better than ever. Gotta get out there this year with ya so let me know when your good to go
  17. Nice job Rob glad to see ya got the boat back in too
  18. Great Job Carl that must have been a blast You told me the upwelling was coming yesterday I wanna buy one of them hats too
  19. Carl you are way to kind about how well my side of the boat did as I remember you doing some tinkering over there too I am sure that Dominick as well as his father and uncle will cherish that day forever and I am a glad that I was able to be a part of it As far as the day went, it was fun and I would love to help you out again if the kid wants the time off. I loved working the back of the boat, especially when there are kids like that involved or guys that have never fished like that before. They seemed to really have a good time. You put us on fish and kept us on them most of the day until the lake got a little more funky . Glad I was able to hang in there for the duration as I had mine mind set to make it through even as tired as I was . I used to be able to handle that stuff back in my day, 3 days in a row was no problem now 2 days and I am shot If anybody ever gets a chance to fish with Carl or just talk with him, he's a genuine nice guy that's knowledgeable and willing to teach you anything he can Thanks again, Captain Tom
  20. Didn't know you were out Jason or I would have given ya a shout That must have been you out near me. Didn't get close enough to see your boat. Nice job
  21. (Fishinman/Tom) : Fishing Report ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): (July 21st, 2009) Time on Water: (7:15 AM – 12:15pm PM) Temp/Weather: (75°F and partly sunny) Wind Speed/Direction: (ENE at 10 MPH) Waves: (2 Footers) Surface Temp: (69°F) Location: (Sandy Creek and east about 1 1/2 miles) LAT/LONG: (GPS Cords) =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: ( Total Boated: (7) Species Breakdown: (7 Kings) Hot Lure: (NK Gator with glow ladder, Gator Spin Doctor with green glow Atomic Fly) Trolling Speed: (3.2 gps) Down Speed: (2.2 -2.4 mph) Boat Depth: (190-220 ft) Lure Depth: (110 ft Cable and Wire 285 on 2.5 setting) ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Went out solo this morning from Sandy and hit the water about 7am. Heard right away on the radio someone say they hadn't gotten anything while trolling east so I headed north to 180 and set rods on a west troll. Wire rod needed some tender loving care so went right to the 2 rod rigger setup and after reading the report from Get The Net last night set probe rigger at 110ft (43 degree water ) and the other at 92. Trolled for about 10 minutes while screwing around with the connection for my 3 gallon gas tank that had come apart with the parts laying in the back of the boat . I wasn't sure how it went together since that's how I found it I figured I would make a turn towards the N/W and no sooner did I hit the 190foot mark and my deep rigger starts slamming . I garb that rod to only have the other rigger also start to bang. I set the first rod in the holder to see what the other felt like and decided that the first fish was the bruiser and continued to fight that fish the other soon splashed around and I couldn't get it in too and it came off . Landed this big gal weighing in at 22# (5 hrs later) I couldn't get it to swim away much to my disappointment I had to keep her . Got the tank fixed and the wire rod too and went back at it. Got another one on the deep rigger and it was a nice teenage king. Continued to fish my way point and got another couple of fish off it. Slid out to 220 to see if there was a better picture as it had slowed and didn't mark much but did get the wire to fire twice and got this one that took me out to 420ft and then this one Got 2 on sliders this one on the Moonshine Purple Nurple (Thanks Carl ) Finished the day pulling rods and getting one more small one It was all about the gators today Very very nice day and it was certainly nice to be back on fish after all my troubles lately with the engine and trailer and a bonus that they had some size too!
