  1. I too use both. Blacks at the balls and Scotty's pinch pads for stacking
  2. Had the pleasure of hitting the hard water at Honeoye lake today with Brian (Gambler). It was the first time that I personally was ice fishing in many years and it was a great time We ended up catching 15 bass in all and many blue gills including a couple of really nice ones that Brian landed. Fished in a shanty with heat and a underwater camera for the first time and didn't have to cut holes by hand I am now spoiled Took the fish to the restaurant for some co-workers that wanted them and after they started to thaw 10 or 11 hours later they started to flip around The Tray of fish we kept today. Biggest bass was 1-3/4 lbs I caught that one just before we left Here's the 10+inch gill Brian caught it weighed 11oz 12 hours later
  3. That's a GREAT story (I believe it was on TV once too few years back ) Being the uncle of a 20 year old with severe Cerebral Palsey who too is confined to a wheel chair and has to communicate in the same manner, and a cousin (my mom's niece who was very very much mentally retarded and couldn't communicate at all) I watched what my aunt and uncle went through because they too didn't want to put her in an institution, does make this a remarkable story and one that the Hoyts as a family should feel very proud of Most of you don't know what it is they as parents must go through each and everyday. It's a lot tougher than the running, biking and swimming he did with his son sure is. My family and I watched first hand as my sister went through all of this as a single parent With all this being said, what bothers me about it is, for the author to say "he sucks" or that "taking his son bowling seems lame" just is not right. There are things that we as parents have to face day in and day out that the Hoyts didn't have to with their son. Like keeping their child safe from the screwballs in this world that we all have to watch out for on a daily basis through everyday things like the internet or letting them go to the store or just ride their bikes down the street, like people of my generation and older (I'm 47 yrs old) were able to do without a worry for the most part. To constantly watch over them to keep them safe and raise them to become good people and responsible adults in this day and age is just as big of an accomplishment as far as I am concerned. So the author of this story should not think he "sucks" or is "lame" because of what Dick Hoyt did. Being loving, caring parents we all try to make our children have happy lives full of as much joy as we can! It truly is a heart warming story and one that surely should have been told

  9. Brian here's what a friend of mine made for me. Stainless steel pipe welded to a square base. It has a small hole drilled into the bottom and side so that water drains out of it. I wrapped some rubber tape to the top so that the net won't rattle or scrap. About 20 inches tall maybe more so no problem with it falling out and it's mounted up and out of the way. If your interested I can take a better picture of it or stop by sometime to take a peak. Works well . I might even be able to get him to make one for you in exchange for a trip on your boat too for him and his son (16yrs old).

  21. Rick I think you need a BIGGER avatar on the bottom of your posts
  22. I agree with this as I have a deep V aluminum boat to and it can get hairy real fast . A charter is a great idea but there is a lot of guys on here that would be willing to take somebody out for a little gas or nothing at all . It's always nice just to be able to get another "2 rods" in the water Another thing to consider is getting with someone that has a boat similar to yours so that you can see how he or she (in Ray K's case) has it set up and does in the big lake. Always check things out on the boat before heading out and heading back in (dang probe ) Some sort of GPS device is great to have for both fishing and mapping
  23. Bought my Plasma TV through newegg in Dec.
  24. C.bonaffine the Smallie fishing is pretty darn good in Canadaguia lake. Small tubes and Rapalas along the south east side.
