  1. Hey Storm Front, put on the pants  and "Hammer" the point home :!:
  2. Maybe the drain plug is with my CAMERA :x :x :x
  3. Not you   There are others named Bob too in this world it doesn't revolve around just you . He's the older brother of Tina (in the first pic) he was grumbling that when he was out last with me in early spring we only got 1 small brown.
  4. Brian  Thanks Ray, sorry to hear about the Pro Am fishing but at least it wasn't just you guys. That would suck not knowing what was wrong. It was nice to get into some nice kings for a change with all the small guys this year. I let them take all the rods, so next time I'm on them Got to order some more Seagur Floro, used mine all up last night tying up new lines. (anybody know if there is a place around Roch-Cha Cha?) Fleas were not bad at all today didn't have to clean any off until the last pulling of the last rod
  5. Tina with the (blurry) brownie. Camera phone and hey it was bumpy at the time! Tina with the steelie The youngster with the 2 big guys :? Nice king off the wire for Tim Bobby I guess we know who the problem is
  6. Took some friends out from NC this AM as I did last year and had an 8 of 10 day. We fished from 5:30ish to noon. Started inside at 80ft and and marked some fish and bait. Got a small brownie right off the bat about 3# on the rigger. Moved in and out of the 80-110ft range and did a double steelie but only landed the one (7-8lbs) the other spit it back in our faces  . Got the wire to fire but it was a dink and then the rigger flew this time it was a beauty  had the youngster that had to land a Laker on the wire last year (don't know why that happened!) take the rod and she did great getting a king about 22-23lbs :!: Trolled out to 170ft and finally had a nice king rip the wire again (green spinny with a green Siggs fly out 180' on 1.5 setting) another nice king of about 16-17lbs. Only downer for the day was we had the wire just get hammered and we pulled it from the holder only to have the wire bust off in front of the dipsey and lost it all :x :x :x :x but did watch the fish jump a bunch of times and just scoot across the water a bunch of times too with all my gear hanging from his face like 20 to 30 seconds later (anybody finds it out there let me know  ) Managed a few more dinks 4 total for the day  Lake and weather started out a little bumpy but it calmed down nicely and except for a couple of rain showers it was a great day 42 second spoon and NBK Stingers took the fish along with this pink spoon that I have caught a few steelies with this year (I'll try to post a pic sometime) that the guy I fished with today had used back when he lived up here. Right side rigger and wire seemed to be the ones that fired most of the day even with the left side set the same a lot of the time :? We also flat lined a stick bait back about 175 -200ft and when that was in the water we got fish on the other poles??? We actually took it out a few times and nothin so we would put it back in and fish on! Temp. was 43 - 45 down in the 65 - 70ft range. Riggers were anywhere from 55-75ft most of the day. Pics will be posted on the pic page soon.
  7. Just goes to show.. ya never know
  8. I have a couple of older Scotty's and they are great. I had a problem with them at first with a switch and the customer service was OUTSTANDING :!:
  9. Stix nice to see your still around how's things? We miss you on here
  10. Easy YT  on him he's a good guy and loves to catch fish of all sorts and we had a really good laugh while they were lakering and some fun and that's what fishing is all about to begin with it's right not all serious, serious, serious, yelling, yelling, yelling gotta beat the next guy. That's one of the things that I enjoyed and miss about fishing with Ray K and Musky in the Pro-Ams they are there to have a really good time, learn something and if you win something great but if you don't you know that you had a good time and some great laughs!!!! If I wanted to he would have kept on the kings (the kid likes the lakers too) we had to head in and we kinda fished our way back to the launch a bit putting away gear and what not, after we looked for a few kings inside again. I agree with the "what Jokers" part but some guys do like to try for a hog laker it's never been one of my things to do ever, even back when I first started learning how to troll but it's like guys that give you a hard time about BASS fishing, some like it some don't. Like I said if it came down to $$$ like placing or moving up a notch in a Pro - AM or Derby I would but that would be it. I guess that would have meant you guys last week right, after all it was a "Trout" and Salmon Derby correct and you finished just a laker or so out of the $$. LL, I will never catch another one, unless it's by total accident like last year on a wire rig.
  11. Stormfriont the hatch out there to begin with and are nasty critters. They'll bite right through a pair of heavy socks too. There was another post about them on here and there might have been something about how to combat them. Not sure though but worth looking up in a search.
  12. Been doing the solo stuff for years and doing the double is always a fun time. Congrats nice fish. Did a Sandy run this AM on Jax boat with Gamblers neighbor TJ (Nice kid!) and we managed to bring 6 fish into the boat (2 Kings 18 and 8, 1 skipper, a small steelie and 2 Lakers  :x :x :x) We and I used that term loosely (won't mention any 3 letter names) lost 4 other fish including what was a double digit size steelie and 2 good kings. I was held hostage by those two and forced to sit through what was the most agonizing 45 minutes of fishing in my entire life while they fished for the "great fighting" lake trout        I tried to dial 911 to get help to get out of there but when I dialed 911 for some reason Jax phone went right to Brian Gamblers number  :? and he was of no help to me :!: OK after enduring that torture someone please tell me why anybody would go out of there way to fish for those damn things :? :? :?: The rod barley even moves when it hits in the rigger and then moves even less when the fish is on there and the 2 we caught were decent sized 8# and 12# but man were they a bore to watch come in and you have to haul in the 3 feet of "cow bell" crap too. I understand if there is prize $ involved but only then. I only did it because TJ wanted too because Brain has him brain washed  I'll try to post some pics later of a couple of the fish if I remember
  13. Billy I can relate to those customer service/that's not what it means issues, as you might remember the issue I had last year with my "we got your probe in" drive an hour it's here.....NOT :!:
  14. It's the Nascar in ya Rod. If you were a Stewart fan like you should be it wouldn't have happened or maybe you would have called him Dave Gibbs BTW nice job on both the fish and the honesty too! Hope to meet you at Sodus as I am coming down for the weigh in and so the Mrs. can meet Ray,Bob and Jason and try to make things a little clearer when I discuss about them to her :? :? :?
  15. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH so Ray had nothing to do with it :? ? It was all fishtails! Maybe throwing him some $/prizes would be the thing to do. Now it's all starting to make sense
  16. Who's meat loaf? Rachel's... BASH BASH BASH!!!! I know the old fat singer!
  17. Maybe you should buy a motor that doesn't suck.... water  and quit on you that's two out of 3 pro ams for that my friend.
  18. All I can say is WOW. I am glad I wasn't part of that tangle (see Jerry I am not always there for that stuff  ) because I can hear Ray now just teasing poor Musky all day and trust me Musky that won't stop this weekend I'm sure. Congratulations Guys Hope to see ya at the weight in at Sodus next week. Ray let me know if you have any trouble getting a hold of Mindy for next week.
  19. Billy nice comeback, but don't second guess that decision. I remember that huge box of Brownies that Jerry Felluca had last year at the Sodus Pro- Am
  20. Just got off the phone with Jax who is a part of Yankee Troller's team and they finished 11th out of 36 boats just 2 pts out of the money :x. He did not stay for the awards ceremonies so wasn't sure of finishing order. He did tell me that he thought that team L.O.U.S.E.R.S finished 4th in the AM side  . That's all the info I have as of now. BIG CONGRATS TO THE GUYS :!:
  21. Well I talked with Musky at 12:30 and he was a little down as they had only boated 3 browns . He said they were about to run out to 200ft to see if they could get a big king to keep them up on the leader board. He said a lot of guys saw what they had done yesterday with the browns and said it was packed in there this morning. Tried to call him at 4pm but no answer. I am hoping it's because he is collecting a check for placing  If anybody finds a final standings report please post it for us, and I'll do the same.
  22. Chad it's a double edged sword they could move to 1st or without a good chum line  they could drop down to last! So do they really want a storm?
  23. I just got off the phone with Muskybob to see how my former team (L.O.U.S.E.R.S) did today and they are in 2nd place  :!: :!: They boxed out with 6 browns with a couple in the 10lb range. According to Bob they went out yesterday and didn't mark much at all so stayed in for the brown bite and did well. He said the fishing was really tough with A LOT of guys Pro and Am not boxing out  He said it's up in the air as to whether they will call it or let guys out tomorrow because of the forecast for storms. DRLFC from our board is leading the AM side, not sure of the Pro side Hope they hang on
  24. 15pt I use duolock snaps without the swivel for the end that goes to the line to the rod and then a good ball bearing swivel to the lure. Cheater lines range from 5 to 8 ft (generally in the 6ft range). As far as distance behind the ball, it will depend on how far down you are running your riggers the deeper the depth generally the shorter the lead, as short as 5ft. Check this link http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishin ... php?t=6267 as that :?: was asked in another post. The fixed cheaters attach right to your main line with either a rubber band or you can buy a Roemer release that attaches to the line. This allows you to "fix" a cheater at a certain depth you want your cheater to be at. This is usually done when you "MUP rig" a lure (which means Mag - UP meaning a mag size spoon is "fixed" to a cheater about 5ft above your smaller spoon off the ball). A slider is put on when you drop a rigger down and you attach your snap to the main line and toss it out, it will then slide down to a depth that is about half way down the line to where the line naturally "bows" out from water resistance. If you put the slider on after the rigger is set then it will slide down to the "top" of the bow and if you put it out as you are lowering the rigger it will slide up to the "bottom" of the bow. Next time post these types of questions under the "questions about trout and salmon or tackle and techniques" you'll get more responses. Hope this helps and I am sure others will chime in on this and correct any errors I made in explaining this to you as I am no expert  :x
  25. Cheers, start to run the 30# big game to help keep off the fleas
