XDB I have also caught a dead possum while trolling  :? Caught a Shimano bait caster and Bass Pro rod infront of Ginnea back in the day before those damn terrorists ruined it for us    Back in the 80's a buddy and I caught a sheephead about 10 Lbs while troliing in 100FOW on if my memory serves me right, like some stupid Coors or Budwiser plug that he had put out (don't ask me why) :? This was not me but with the same guy as mentioned above (Kirk) back in 1984 fishing from the Summerville pier. It's the first night out for a friend of ours with his 2 brand new 7 foot Uglysticks with the good ole Cardinal reels and he goes over to take a piss in the river and all we hear is the sound of a pole scraping across the concrete and then a splash. He's running over trying to get his pants zipped up too. Then about half hour later the other Kirk hooks into a king and a few minutes later I see this pole sticking up from the water around Kirks line and sure enough he's caught the same fish with the other guys pole, line and hook still attached to the salmon   . That was a 30lb salmon to boot.

Pat, the number for Claudes was no good . Any other numbers? Was he the guy that comes to your house? Thanks for all the info. P.S can't make the pen meeting on the 24th (working just like whenever there's any type of meeting it seems ) so any info you can pass along would be great
-
RJ, I can't remember his name but I think that might be it. I have it written down at home and Chris said the same thing about his work. I will probably make the road trip and stop to see the old man on the way down and back
-
If you get his number let me know. I'll give him a shout. Thanks,

Ok I know I have gone through this in the past  but I am looking for info on having a new top and side curtains for my boat made. JollyII gave me a name of a gentleman in Elmira. he had a canvas top and was able to just send his top to him but I have a vinal top that has shrunk and I need to take the boat to him but am looking for someone a little closer if possible since I live in Chili and not really looking to tow the boat 2 hours or more, 2 different times. Got a great price of about $650 - $700 and will go the 2 hours if I have to but was wondering if anybody knew of anywhere closer. I remember someone saying something about a Amish guy near Buffalo :?: Any other suggestions would be great.

Rick try this company Defenders.com. They have a ton of stuff and at great prices, that's where I got my flooring material. I have a catalog and will try  to remember to look in it too for ya!

What't the funniest thing ever to happen on board?
FISHINMAN replied to Billy V's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Billy I'm in damn tears after reading it!!!!!! I have two. First was when we used to be able to fish in front of Guinea (Sp?) power plant, I had a buddies boat and was out at night in the cold with a friend of ours and I turn around towrds the front of the boat and he's got his bright orange hunting pants pulled down and he's taking a dump into a AM/PM coffee cup  like a carvel ice cream cone! I then look over after I make a cast and I see pieces of my coffee cup floating by that he used to wipe his crack! Next one is really kinda weird. I was out the with a friend in his boat trolling about 20 years ago fishing out near the 150 foot markers west of the Genny and it's about 90 degrees out. IT'S A SLOW DAY! All of a sudden he decides to dive off the front of the boat to swim while we are trolling. So he's swimming along infront of the boat when a rod fires. I grab the rod and we land a nice 20+ lb salmon. About 1/2 hr later again he decides to go in for a dip and sure enough bang a rod fires again. Land that one too. -
VERY NICE AND THE FISH AINT BAD EITHER

Matt I'm not positive :? but I think Jack (aka Shorthanded) had them on his boat. Steve or Woody would know for sure. If that's what they were I liked them alot, fast and well made.

Tom thanks. Ended up finding a piece of molding at Home Depot today that's only about an 1/8" to hide and can have that cut down by one of the guys here buliding the new houses . Thanks again :!:

The preping has gone nicely so far  . no major problems just 1 seat mount screw gave me a hard time. I recieved the material from Defenders.com on Thursday (order it on line on Tuesday  :!: ) It was $15.99 for the 3'x6' and I went with 9' so it goes up under the console almost all the way. I looked into the Durbax stuff and there was more involved with special primer, rollers ect. and prep stuff too. Plus I have what I believe are drain holes in the aluminum floor that would have had to be plugged too. I figured by using the same material that was in there then it would match the bow also. Does anybody know where I can buy the thin wood (it's about 1-1/4" wide and 3/8" thick) that the vinyl wraps around for trim on the sides of the boat. I have one piece that the wood is rotted on and want to replace it. Home Depots thinnest stuff was about 1/3" to thick. Thanks

Waterlogged, I have a 90Hp on my 19 footer too and have never had a battery problem except for just an older battery needing to be changed do to age. I agree with Kappy get it checked. There is a place that rebuilds them called Pro rebuilders that did my starter once. Great guys and it was much cheaper than buying a new one and I never had a problem after that. They are located in Rochester off Lyell ave down near the Diplomat party house on Adelaide Street (#54) 585- 254-013 Good luck

Thanks for all the help. I bought and cut a 3/4 piece of pressure treated plywood by recomedation from a guy that works at Ridge Lumber who told me that a sheet of the Marine plywood was $115.00 a sheet  instead of the $44.00 for the pressure treated stuff and he said it will last 10 years at least if I treat it with some water proofing too. they cuit it to perfect size for me too. went to West Marine and found the same material that I have in it now and it was $13+ dollars for a 1' X 6' foot piece, that's $39 to just reapir the back end of the boat  . I then looked for some on the net and found the same material at a place called Defenders for $14.50 for a 3' X 6' piece so I amy replace it up to the console now  :? I am gonna look into the Durabak stuff too but it may be a whole lot more work to sand/remove all the glue and it's $90 a gallon  . I'll keep you all posted. P. S mark not sure if I have your number still it was in my messages from the OLD BOARD!
