  1. Trim off all dark meat and the lateral line off your fillets and they'll taste a lot better. Some guys bleed the fish out before it goes in the box. I prefer kings and coho over 'eyes. I did some 'eyes on the grill that we caught Thursday and think I shouldda hit them with a lot more old bay, very bland.
  2. I usually keep a can of wasp killer onboard just because.
  3. love that show. we don't miss a single episode. We're glad that the airplane harpooners haven't been featured lately.
  4. Nice. Love Presque Isle.
  5. Good lookin fish. Thanks for the report.
  6. Is it possible to replace driveshaft bellows on an Alpha 1(1989) without removing bellhousing? Exhaust sleeve is in good shape and shift cable bellows also in good shape as I did lower cable a few years ago. Can I fabricate a pull/push tool to facilitate install? Thanks in advance for advice.
  7. Thanks.
  8. Yep, we're thinking about the Oak also. Is the Rt 18 bridge over the river open?
  9. That's a hog! DId you happen to use the state launch on east side? I heard they were doing some work on it.
  10. Yep, that first pic is the same one Ralph showed me at the club today. I'll have to try and get up to Olcott!!
  11. Been watching the show since the beginning. Best show on the tube. Had to be great meeting Dave
  12. I can only remember the statement my adult son made a few years ago while we were fishin' eyes on Erie...."Dad, let's go back to Ontario. Catchin' these walleyes is like pickin' tomatoes".
  13. Yep. Clear now. Thanks for the info.
  14. So, the bridge in question is the bridge directly in front of Narby's?
  15. Tim, only a foot?
  16. Very good informative read.
  17. You have PM
  18. I'll take em. Hooks and harnesses included?
  19. Oops, sorry for the unintentional hijack. PM will be used in the future.
  20. Cpt Vince, I recall Fred saying that you helped with the set up of the boat. We've owned her quite a few years now. It's been good to us.
  21. steelhead'r, you ever own a 22' sabre HT? I think I own your old boat!
  22. Oh yeah, redwings have always been my indicator that spring is near. Haven't seen any yet but I'm always listening and watching.
  23. Does that last pic look like an Atlantic to anyone else?
  24. Camp at either Lakeside Beach State Park, 3 miles to the west or maybe North of the Ridge, 5 miles east and south if Terry's open in April. I'm not sure the state park is even open for camping in mid-april. Catch a transient slip at Lakebreeze Marina. I don't think camping and slip are proximal to each other at the oak.
  25. Hey spurs, talk about a pissed off wife....mine lost a rod/reel down the hole last week on Conesus. I was outside the trap and I heard this loud yelling "Oh no. the rod went down the hole!!"" It was her favorite rod. I'll miss that rod but they make 'em every day. Tried to dredge it up but nada. Today on Conesus out of Vitale we caught enough gills for a supper or two. Had to weed through them. Nice bonus largemouth also. Maybe we'll locate perch next time out.
