Anyone know if docks are in at either east county launch( Black North) or west county (old state) launches yet? Still have some work to do on the boat but am planning on an early april shakedown. Skipper?
The Oak site started posting reports today. Was up to the Oak today just to see the lake (no boat, no rods). She was snotty but had a good lookin' mudline. Saw no one out. Soon!
Thanks for the post BIG-E. We were up at the Rez at Basom today. Pump guy said it's straight up gas from Canada and no E-10 stickers on the pumps. BTW 3.50/gal. I may have to alter my route to the Oak via Basom. This "Nanny State" thing is getting bad. E-10 or 15 in the tank, CFL's in the light socket, ect, ect.
T-man, try to PM maniac. When my floor needs replacement I'll be spending the big bucks for marine ply and do the epoxy treatment. I think that will last the remainder of my trolling years! Regarding your current location issue you can always get out the saw and play hide and seek!
T-man, I've got a '88 22' GL Sabre but I'm not sure my dimensions will be proper for your rig. Maniac has a 24' but he may still have it in storage. I'll be working on mine tomorrow. If you want I can post those #'s tomorrow. BTW, how did your floor turn out? I'm sure that project is in my future.
Hank, is it rated for a 4-stroke 9.9? What is the vertical travel? I'm looking for a bracket, don't have power trim so I need a manual lift that can handle trailering also. Feel free to PM me with specs/details. Thanks.
John, it's been at least 7 years since we went up. Used to fish Cook's Bay out of Keswick. Back then the exchange was real good, now just about par. Plus we don't have passports or enhanced. We always took our own equipment. Family members did however rent huts at times. On a good trip we would bring back near a full cooler but we've had a few poor trips also. We focus on Chautauqua and I-bay nowadays with a trip or two to Silver and Conesus. Check out this link:

My son IS a trained chef and he told me years ago to pull them. Can't remember how many per fillet, but been pulling them ever since. Good knurled tips on the needlenose help.
Yep, got new vents in mine too, despite the dryer sheet/mothball treatment. Gonna try iron on patches from walmart for the repair as the damage isn't too bad. Duct tape, my old standby, doesn't stick all that well in the current temps. At the end of this ice season I'll probably pull the canvas off and store in a varmint-free location.
Taxes in NY go like this: Up all the time. All our lives. No breaks. This state will, and does find new ways to tax us. For example the "user fee" on vehicle registrations. We've just had an increase in our hunting/fishing/trapping licenses and they are now cutting DEC personnel. There are hidden taxes and surcharges everywhere. We now stand to loose two House seats due to falling population. This state will never wake up. It is destined to be a welfare state similar to California. Check out our medicaid spending. Cuomo won't change anything, they'll continue to do the "death by a thousand cuts". Family keeps us here...for now.
Congrats. NEVER GO TO BED MAD. It's been 38 years for Mama and I. She's pretty much sewed to my hip when it comes to fishing either hard or soft water. I think she loves it more than I do! ZERO REGRETS.
Good report Eric. Glad to hear someone's catching them. We're gonna try to get up sat for one last shot. Will pull the boat back home and probably close up the camper a few weeks later. We'll hit Erie for eyes and perch with the 18' and be looking for some venison after that. seeya
