You would be able to launch a smaller boat. There aren't any docks though. The water is open from the lake to the launch ramps but not much farther down the creek. It looks like it's open down by Narby's and the cove, so it must only be open in spots. I hope you don't want to head out on the lake as that looked rough and cold. Hope this helps.

Bill. Rubberband a 1 lb drop ball on your copper where it meets the leader then let it out. Then put it 100 feet down on your rigger. When you finally get the fish to the boat break the rubberband and fight it the rest of the 20 feet.(If it's still on!) I haven't run copper yet so I don't know exactly how deep it goes, but I know a 1/4 lb lead weight as described on a leadcore setup will get you down a little further so why couldn't that work? It would surely be the deepest rig and out of the way anyhow. We could call it the super secret weapon rigg. Like I said I honestly don't know that much about copper, but could it work? - Mick

I don't know how many teams would even be able to fish it after blowing off work some of the week before to pre fish, fish all weekend, and then do the same for the Orleans pro am the next weekend. That's a lot of money to shell out to fish almost 2 weeks straight between entry fees and all other expenses. Many boats will stick around though since Orleans is the next week. - Mick

It's also reffered to as Waterport Reservoir. Glenwood is a different lake near medina. That lake is full of a ton of carp.

The lake and oak orchard all the way to the swamps near the thruway already have pike so what could some tigers really do to harm it? The DEC website says its around 340 acres and it gets around 60 or more feet deep at the east end. It also gets quite shallow at the west end where Oak orchard enters. I have never heard of Tiger Muskies being able to reproduce before,- I'll have to check it out. There are walleye there anyhow. - Mick

I know it used to be stocked with pond raised walleyes from one of the local sportman's clubs around and prior to 10 years ago. I tried to search the DEC website and didn't find any info of anything being stocked in there recently. I would imagine the walleye population now would be from any natural reproduction. I was there yesterday taking docks out of the water and the water level was way up from from fall-probably the canal release. I know walleye are caught in the canal also so possibly when they drain it ( I believe it drains from Medina ) possibly fish get through. That lake is what feeds the flow for Oak orchard at the Dam. I have heard of a MUSKIE being caught in Lake Alice before, and that fish would definately have come from the Niagara River/ Lake Erie all the way down the canal and Oak orchard river above the dam to Lake Alice. With all the panfish I wish the DEC would stock it with some Tiger Muskie that are sterile and wouldn't reproduce for some real fun fishing.

It would be great for the times I'm out only with 1 other person, or alone. It sucks having to decide on what to run when you are really limited on how many rods allowed. I think there can be a time when too much in the water can spook the fish and hurt the fishing though. I'm for it.

Rock and Fish on Stan. I'm only speaking for myself , but I think we are all jealous of you to be able to troll for Kings, Browns, and Rainbows in a smaller boat , and wearing a T-Shirt at the end of November. - Have Fun for us.

Stan. Unlike the inline planer boards like you probably use now, the big boards allow you to run release clips down the line that attatches to the big planer. When the fish is on it's released from the clip and you fight only the fish.It's basically the same principle but unlike the inline planers you dont reel the board in with the fish. I only run inlines, and don't have all that much experience with big boards, but I'm sure the other guys here can help you out better. I'm sure they would work for you.- Mick

Ray. First you can't understand how to cook with a dishwasher. Then you go and use a dryer. Stan then tells you to use an ironing board. I asked what setting to cook on (I tried to ask for hints). What's next Stan? A curling iron stuffed salmon?You can take it from here Ray. - Mick
