Last Labor Day weekend the wind blew dead out of the east for 3 days and we averaged 15 bites each day.The fish were stacked in 100fow straight out of the salmon river and we put a hurtin on them each day.Up until then i believed the east wind shut them down but that made me rethink that theory.
I fished Oswego today with my friend and we had 53 degrees down 142 in 500 fow. Id like to slap the weatherman who said 1 to 2 footers. It was triple that in 500fow.
The Captain we fish with every year gets a $100.00 tip between 4 guys.He has no mate and cleans and bags our fish at the end of the trip. Some years we box out and others we dont but it doesnt matter because each year he works his butt off for us and hes not afraid to burn some gas and head off shore if thats where the bite is.
I went on a walleye charter on May 31st and the fishing sucked. No walleyes and pike and pickeral were the only thing we caught.I knew it was gonna be tough when we were the only boat that was fishing.
We were out on the south end today with similar results. One thing that concerned me is the lamprey eels this year.We had one fish that had 3 on him.I think all but maybe 3 or 4 had lampreys on them.Has any had similar results with lampreys this year?
I mail ordered some spoons from them last year.My credit card was charged quick enough but it took over a month to get my spoons, one of which was out of stock which they never told me about until after i ordered it.That was enough to make me look elsewhere from then on.
Yeah we went and i cant wait to go back. One guy in our group took a decent 8 point our last day there and everyone saw deer. The property that we hunted is all abandonded strip mines so its all hills and briars and blowdowns.I saw some tracks and rubs out there that were just unbelievable.Ohio is in the midst of a herd reduction so dont expect to see a lot of deer,at least on public land.
This is my first year going. The guys im going with go every year and usually do pretty good as far as deer sightings go.Were hunting not far from Zanesville on state land.Ill post any success pics when we get back.
Get the torpedos.Less blowback and they track straight.Theres a guy that sells them in the classified section (troutman 87).I bought 2 and couldnt be happier.
Thank you for the reply.Thats exactly what i needed to know.Someone else i talked to mentioned it only being a 350 watt unit and to save my money toward a 600 watt unit. Thanks again.
Received my spoons from Northern King on friday. They didnt send 2 uv spoons like they said they were going too, only received one.Oh well live and learn.Dreamweaver from now on.
