  1. So going to see my dealer for a trailer inspection is no hassle? What about the employees who are staying home, the rest of the staff there? Trailer inspection should be check your lights anyway, the chain, etc. The governor should address this situation, also your automobile inspection? I remember when there was no vehicle inspections and no one died.
  2. There are dual use batteries, both starting and deep cycle. For my main engine, 100 HP Merc and my 10 HP Honda kicker I use one starting battery which also supplies my electronics and cell phone charger. This has worked for over ten years. The Honda is easy to start with the pull cord and it charges the battery when it runs. When my old Evinrude failed to start the Honda brought me home at 6 MPH. There you go.
  3. When the stock market crashed in 1929, people were jumping out of windows. We must outlast this situation and being home confined is not the worst deal. Take it one day at a time and this will end, so get a six pack, turn on the TV and wait till this passes.
  4. Operators of non complying boats could have their boats seized during a state of emergency. Storage and other fees could add up also. Think about it, there are no court days scheduled till after virus problems end. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Combat fishing happens here. April 1 trout opener will have gridlock at the bridges. Watch out for the sneezers.
  6. After two shoulder surgeries, get the electric start. Ten years from now you will appreciate it.
  7. Until the Rome hatchery is sanitized and its water sources are safe, most likely its fish production numbers are suspected for non Great Lakes Tributaries is over.
  8. DMV stickers are valid till a later date. At least that is their story.
  9. Maintaining a six foot safety gap between people is approved. Crowd levels from six to fifty may be approved.

  11. The parking lot at the Cattraugus Creek ramp on Lake Erie was gridlocked with cars from perch fishing boats lately.
  12. A family down my street lost five children in the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic. They operated a corner grocery store.
  13. When a passenger becomes infected after being on your boat, does your insurance cover his medical costs? A good question for your insurance broker.
  14. The USCG operates a station on a hilltop on the Chautauqua Ridge that monitors VHF radio transmission from western Lake Erie to the St. Lawrence River. Yes, regulations require your radio to monitor Channel 16 at all times for marine safety broadcasts, distress calls, repeat distress calls and personal messages where you switch and answer on another designated frequency. The line of sight FM signals are reached from the high elevation of the hilltop and tower. Also nearby USCG stations operate higher elevation radio towers.
  15. Well how many tons of fish food are needed daily? And labor costs? Power?
  16. Will the Border persons allow USA citizens entry now?
  17. Slip holders at the Buffalo Yacht Club were assessed $1,000 this year to pay for the damage to their floating docks. Face up to it, less users do not pay for maintenance now. The other option is drive farther on your dime and time.
  18. When the Lake Erie commercial fishermen lost their jobs through Albany's legislation the local fish processors lost their jobs. Ontario picked up the market for perch, whitefish and walleye fillets. The imports now from Lake Erie fish total over a billion dollars annually. In Ohio and Michigan perch fillets are selling for $23.00 a pound, more than lobster. Maybe the legislature will allow licenses to harvest the perch for public sale to assist you in your financial loss. I lost my license thirty five years ago and am to old now to go back on the boat and work.
  19. Your P Can on your boat will be used more often now on long distant travel in your vehicle. Your use of Restaurant and Truck Stop facilities have ended with the Virus regulations. Carry a urinal device or even a Porta Potty in your vehicle for your and passengers use if you need to relieve your self. Long haul truckers are having worse problems.
  20. Call 911, you are 911. Coming from Canada or offshore. Make sure you have citizen papers in order. Enhanced driver license, voters registration card, passport, utility bills, also papers that can be mailed to your family or yourself.
  21. Back up your card with ready cash because today we have accounts compromised.
  22. With no football, basketball, golf, on TV Sunday I parked my butt in the recliner and watched fishing videos like this on YouTube.com for twelve hours. Better there than in a boat and you learn a lot.
  23. Or well waters?
  24. Perch fishermen on Lake Erie in small boats now are doing well and feeding your family is a necessary need. Walleye fishing in Ohio is doing well. Campgrounds for seasonal use should be good, I hope but travelling campers should have their use confirmed before leaving home. Opening day of trout season is a cause for concern. Cold weather can cause a cold and compromise your immune system. Crowds at bridges are something to avoid. Maybe just wait for a warm sunshine day instead of a traditional opener.
  25. I had a cannon ball bouncing around in my side compartment. It wore the insulation on some wiring and I smelled a wire burning smell as I was motoring along. Fortunately I discovered the wire quickly after stopping the boat to investigate. Store your cannonballs in a wooden box and do not set them where wires are laying.
