After 26 years in a water treatment plant I can from say if copper sulfate is found on the premise, you are in deep do-do from the health department. It was used to kill algae but the dead algae decayed and the oil from the decay resulted in bad tasting drinking water. Similar results would happen from billions of dead mussels that sudddenly died. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United The mussels take up the algae as food and water cleared up to crystal clear from them. But where do the zoo plankton find the algae to survive and the fry of every fish from minnows to bass and walleye feed on the zoo plankton mass. The food chain needs to be maintained for you to have good results fishing. The blue water of mountain lakes have very poor fish production while Lake Erie is the greatest fish producer in the world.

The service time for 2 cycle is very short. It blows through the engine quickly. The semi synthetic oils came into necessity when automobile engine operating temperatures were raised to over 200 degrees F for gas mileage increases. Standard natural oil breaks down at operating temperatures of over 180 degrees F and synthetics were required for oil service life and quicker engine lubrication at cold temperatures. Choose your oil choice on an economic situation . Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

The Great Lakes are a public drinking water source and adding a chemical would subject a court action that will make lawyers very happy. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I used a trolling plate on my engine for years. It controls the thrust off your propeller to slow your boat down and you can still steer with your wheel. First try your engine out and then put the trolling plate out if you think you need it. The four stroke engines run very smooth today and you may be fine with the new engine. Both sides of the river has underground tunnels that divert river water to power plants. The Canadians opened a new tunnel this year for more power generation on their side of the river. That water would only have gone over the falls and they do not purchase power from the New York Power Authority any more. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

The Canadians are part of this problem also. They shut down their coal burners. Our coal burners could have been converted to natural gas but Albany stopped the new pipeline from Pennsylvania. When our electric bills double, then maybe the media will respond. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Both Ontario and New York closed down their coal burning power plants and our power grids reached near failure in the hot summer of 2016. The IJC decided to cash in on our power demand and jacked up the water level of Lake Ontario about three feet. Consider the water power energy stored in that thousands of square miles of water that their power stations could generate. This is not a natural event as the upper lakes have decent water levels even with the record rain fall so far this year. This is a political decision and the heads of our American and Canadian Officials must be held accountable for the billions of dollars, both American and Canadian, lost by property owners around the Lake and St. Lawrence River systems. -
The check valve at the bulb near the tank is not in line with the engine connection where the air comes into the system. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

The dealers give real attention to their purchase customers. Other owners get attention at the end of the day. Be wary of out of town dealers who suck you in with the factory type service stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Instead of doing nothing, at least drain the lower unit. Pump it full of new oil. The oil can handle some water for a while. Next fall drain the lower unit to remove any water for possible freeze damage and refill it for next season. Dealers sell a pump with a hose that screws into the lower drain hole and pump new oil in till it flows out of the upper hole. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Allen Lake in Allegany County off Rte.19 east of Caneadea, has 5600 small Brook trout stocked last spring. A tough find up gravel roads, on Muckle Road, from West Hill Road. Go for them early as this is a "put and take" lake because high summer water temperatures will not support the cold water brookies.

When a major retailer cuts its sales staff on the floor, concentrates on cashiers and has little customer service, it will close shortly. Macy's, K Mart, JCPenny and Sears are stores that now operate that way, they like to state on line sales are killing them. Customers like sales assistance and Cabela's and Bass Pro operate with floor sales people yet.

Survival of the early stocked fish will be heightened by the real small wild hatched salmon that are forage for the mature king salmon.

The Southtowns Walleye Tourney recognizes single person boaters. Miserable, friendless anglers can participate. A lie detector examination is used for legal entries.

The Erie County Sewer people inspect our homes every five years for sump pump and rain gutter discharges. It makes a difference now. If you do not comply your occupancy permit can be suspended. Well you will be fined first. Then you will have to lose work and show up in court. You do have the inspection when you allow it at your convenience. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
My kicker would start up and then stall. A separate tank and line stopped this. Apparently the other engine connection would allow air into the system through the pin that opens the gasoline line. It opens the check valve and the air comes into the system through the vacuum from the small engines fuel pump. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

The fuel pump will suck air from the other motor fuel fitting and its air vent and you will have an engine shutdown. A tee fitting is not the way unless shut off valves can isolate each engines systems. A separate small fuel tank for the kicker is a good set up. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

No ice on Lake Erie should have the fish turned on all over the lake but warmer Lake Erie water from the flumes of the Niagara River and Welland Canal systems should turn the fish on better there. -
If we have it bad, the conditions on the Canadian shoreline must be even worse with the wind blowing now. No one seems to consider that. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
