My radio failed to receive and transmit. Went to Cabelas and grabbed a new one, installed it and it Did not work. Checked the supply voltage and found it at 6 volts. Pulled a fuse and it appeared to be partially blown. Went and bought new fuses. Still had 6 volts. Fuse block voltage was 13 volts going in and 6 volts going out. Moved the supply line to another fused terminal with the new fuse and had 13 volts to the radio. Now I read the new radio instructions. Below 8 volts the radio will receive but not transmit. I had the weather radio but no transmission capability. So make sure you use 10 gauge wire for your radio and sealed fuse holders. You will save bucks and a couple hours on a hot and humid summer day sweating like a pig.

Welding an aluminum structure after it has been riveted puts a different strain on the rivets and you may be creating more problems.

20 pound fluorocarbon for Lake Erie and 30 pound fluorocarbon for Lake Ontario. Black with no snubbers. I paint the other dipseys with black spray paint in a can. The longest leaders possible, longer than the pole and as long as the boat where the rod is placed in a rod holder at the bow to net a fish. You may have to hand line your leader to get the fish to the net. Slide divers are a better deal but I have too many old divers in the boat.

To store them collapsed, use flat aluminum plates about an inch wide attached to the top and bottom of the board with toilet fasteners. They have screw threads on one end and machine screw threads on the other end. Wing nuts tighten and loosen the the flat bars to open or collapse them. The flat bars slice through the water easily. The threaded rods go into your storage to use for other needs.

The Marina will close shortly due to the low water conditions caused by the drought.

The electric arc is 30,000 degrees F. It will melt everything when you are hit.

The little tit on the rear release prevents the board from coming free. The rubber holds it in place and when you reel the line in the resistance is a whole Lot less. If you wait a while the board will fall back behind the transom and not tangle the other boards and their lines, that is if you set the front release to let go of your line. Sometimes you need a rubber band on your braid to effect a release from the front release.

The big Kings will soon stage off the creeks in 120 foot of water awaiting the cold August nights where the streams send cold water into the lake. This cold water does not mix with the warm water quickly but stays on the bottom flowing into the lake where the mature kings are going to come in to spawn. Fish the 120 foot contour with slow moving flashers that irritate the big ones driving them to strike. Deep plugs can elicit a strike also.

I use the pin release on the rear. The front release lets go but the rear pin release holds the board with now less drag and you can detach the board with your fish back in the water safer.

Panther makes an in boat connector, threaded rod, stainless or galvanized, with motor clamps, that you bend and cut to fit. Easy to disconnect for tilting after use.

My shoes are for sale. Anything could happen . Cabela's has guns, no golf stuff. Cabelas may take over the Burlington store next door for expansion when their lease expires.

I clip my core to the boards, 27#, and get away with it. The leader is 100 foot of fluorocarbon. 5 colors and deep diving plugs can get deeper or a clip weight. 3 ounces added to get down to 100 foot for those big smelt eaters on the bottom.

A good built in the boat charging system is ideal. Your battery will be fully charged all year and never over charged.

Many perch fisherman to Lake Erie travel great distances at considerable expense because the catch Limit is reasonable. Canada put a 25 perch limit on and many Americans quit traveling there since is not economical. Yellow perch and walleye now sell for more than $20 a pound for filets from Canada so why not have Americans catch their own perch?
