  1. More regulation would cut down on non resident license sales but license revenues are falling with lifetime license sales, less youth fishing and costs rising we need more help, not less. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. With the side view option new readings are added to your chart as you travel. They can be shared or saved to your own chart. Even on uncharted waters the readings you obtain are saved. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Some of the released fish die anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Brown trout eggs are the best producers and brown trout are the best eaters. There are always a group of do gooders to screw up things that are fine now. Just because you want to save the fish for yourself maybe we should make you stop fishing for the day after you catch your limit even after releasing them. 5. The gen 2 and 3 hds machine print your readings to your chart if you know how. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. If your lights are not operating properly expect to be pulled over. Beside a fine the points on your driver's license are the same as running a red light. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. The Canadians are shaking down Americans for any violations now like crossing the border without calling in before passing through their water on the Niagara River. Stay away from Canadian water and learn the boundary line. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. The new CHIRP systems are reported to have a sharper picture and less interference from nearby boats. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Garmin prides itself on cartography of the world but our waters are debatable. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Fellows are catching perch from the shore using long casting rods with heavy sinkers like two ouncers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. After the waiting list reaches you. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Scotty has been around over fifty years and they have things right. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. If we made our state legislators stand in line on a holiday weekend then there could be some action. Try making a family outing into a happy event when you are sitting in the sun for an hour waiting to put your boat in and another hour trying to get off the water in the evening. 14. The waters on the Niagara Bar are Lake Erie water, full of nutrients, plankton and bait forage. Lots of walleye taken there especially large ones on bottom bouncer rigs with worm harnesses. The same can be said of harbor waters all over the lake where rivers flow into the lake. Figure it out, why not Walleyes when the waters flowing into the are full of Walleyes. Get your head straight and try for them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. New York stocks Browns in Erie and Ontario. 16 to 20 pounders are caught regularly, especially where the bottom and thermocline meet in the summer. In the spring on nearshore waters which warm early and November where they search for flowing stream waters. Sea run Browns come from the saltwater where survival is only for the largest and strongest like sea run steelhead, not like our Ontario rainbows. 16. Weekend launching can be distressing. Same as at the Small Boat Harbor. Thirty miles of lake shoreline with a million residents and only two ramps shows a real need for better access to the lake. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I abandoned my boat tank when I found the gas fill hose had hardened from age and leaked gasoline in the bilge. I have three six gallon portable tanks that I fill at the local stations that have fresh gasoline at a better price. These cans have a sealing vent so no daily expansion introduces humidity into the tank at night. You easily can inspect the tank by removing the cap and seeing if water or sediment is present. Cleaning is easy with a rag on a coat hanger. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. A lot of "sea lawyer BS" here. No real lawyers have piped in though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Receiving money for fuel, etc. is a Federal Law violation and subject to a high fine. That is why you need a Charter License and all the hoops they make you jump through. It is best to share trips on other boats. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. I caught a 25 inch walleye that was tagged 10 years earlier when it was 25 inches also. It was a male fish that stop growing at 25 inches. It is the females that grow larger and their weight peaks just before spawning. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Forty years with a camper and an 18 foot boat. Fished all of Lakes Erie and Ontario. 65 MPH on I 90 gets you there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. When choosing a winch, oversize it is always better. I use an 11,500 pound rated winch for my 18 foot boat. My garage is littered with older smaller winches that died on me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Run eight gauge wires from your truck battery to your winch. Put a forty amp circuit breaker close to the positive battery terminal. With the truck engine running it should keep charging the battery. Maybe heavier wire and a larger circuit breaker are needed for your winch. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Last spring on the Columbia river a 24 pound walleye set the Washington state record. You have only a short time to get a NY state record on the Kinzua Reservoir where the last two record Walleyes were caught before the season closes on March15. 25. All new fish finders will have "CHIRP" technology which gives a sharper picture and less screen interference. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
