Eastern basin walleyes and perch have stacked in 75+ feet of water this summer after record 90+ degree temperatures. Surface and bottom temperatures are that same at 75 foot depths. Go out to deeper waters than usually fished now. Walleyes are deeper and even 10 color leadcore rigs are not enough now. bp Sent from my SCH-I405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app R

Since the lake water temperature has risen this summer you may have better success farther out in deeper water. The best spot lately is off the Crystal Beach area on the border line with Canada. Over 100 boats there yesterday and Sturgeon Point is a closer launch site. The thermocline was 53 degrees at 55 feet down yesterday. The walleyes stack up above the thermocline.

Zinc is for steel boats. Magnesium is for aluminum boats. Your outdrive has protection on the tab behind the propeller which should be monitored for corrosion. If your boat is aluminum, there are magnesium protectors for the hull that are bolted through the hull. Stray electrical currents especially from nearby boats occur regularly and there is a "Capac" meter that monitors hull systems.

It should be considered that a "failure to harvest the stocked salmon and trout" will result in a slower growth rate for the biomass. When this happens the DEC will cut back on stocking numbers and we will have upset fishermen again. It is advisable to encourage the harvest of the trout and salmon to keep the growth rate up and not to have the experiences that Lake Michigan and Lake Huron anglers suffered.

Find the bottom where it intersects with the thermocline. Small spoons work well on the bottom there for browns Sent from my SCH-I405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Near shore water temperature hit 80 degrees this weekend, highest in my lifetime. Thermocline off Silver Creek was at 77 feet. Best catches this weekend were off the condoes on CA line near Crystal Beach. Sent from my SCH-I405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The walleye reproduction rate is the result of our failure to harvest enough of the other species such as perch, white bass, and others that feed upon the fry of the walleye hatch. Catch and release is not the answer, a balanced harvest is what is needed. Concentrating on walleyes, big and small, does not work. Take home some of the other fish and things can work out.

From the entrance buoy to Meyers Reef 100 boats limiting out on walleye for several weeks now. Three colors and stickbaits with inlined boards are good along with bottom bouncers with worm harnesses. Sent from my SCH-I405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Run a single wire of the same gauge as your largest wire from the mounting nuts of your tail light fixture to the other fixture and up front to the white wire of your connector. Also run the vehicle connector white wire to the vehicle frame on a clean spot. Never depend on the coupler ball for a ground connection. Trailers as they age corrode and the grounding circuit fails. Trailer ground systems are inadequate. Always add another ground wire from your tail lights to your vehicle connector. Road salt corrodes your vehicle connector and it should be cleaned to a shiny finish. Sent from my SCH-I405 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
