  1. http://cruisingservices.net/ A good fellow sent me this, it could be a good thing.
  2. Sturgeon Point Marina is where several boats, 16 to 18 footers have been going out all winter on nice days . Catches of up to 90 nice Lake Erie perch are regularly caught quickly.
  3. Anyone out there know how to do this?
  4. My good Mercury engine dealer said only use 89 octane for anything, and add stabil blue to it, especially engines that are used occasionally like chain saws, weed wackers, lawn tractors, etc. The octane in E10 evaporates out the vent after 30 days of sitting around your garage.
  5. No matter what they sign, their wives and family did not sign anything. I am not a lawyer.

  7. My motorhome, with a Ford 460 engine, consumed $1700 of gasoline on my last trip to Florida with E10 fuel. It dropped from 7 MPG to 6 MPG which is a 13% drop in mileage. That was my last long trip as I could have stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Naples with that economy. This year it saved me a lot more as for the first time in 25 years, we stayed home for the fine New York sunshine.
  8. We still have money to build F35's down in Dallas.
  9. The Mexican Drug Cartels will outgun this one soon. http://www.workboat.com/newsdetail.aspx?id=12592 http://www.workboat.com/Online-Features ... with-Army/
  10. Another fact is $15 of natural gas equals ther BTU content of $100 of petroleum. No wonder there is so much publicity against hydrofracking, Halliburton knows how to control the public opinion.
  11. Eviscerate and take the gills out. Ice them on a bed of ice so the gurry does not taint the flesh. Ideally the best is to freeze them in a tank of chilled seawater, dip them in a bath of fresh water and freeze them immediately. The ice formed from the water bath keeps the freezer burn away. Live wells are useless unless they are temperature controlled. The commercial tugs on Lake Erie bed their perch on ice layered on every six inches in coolers that are pallet sized, covered and sealed. The processor cleans the perch and walleyes as soon as they hit the dock.
  12. I won the 223 Winchester Super Short Magnum in Angelica last fall. Any comments? It has the large extractor as the old Model 70's.

  15. A friend reported that after filling up his Honda pickup with pure gasoline, from a station in Pendleton, His mileage meter showed an increase from 16 MPG to 21 MPG. This was E10 to the old pur gasoline. http://www.exxonmobilperspectives.com/2 ... an-iphone/ So what do we have to do to end this madness from Washington.
  16. http://www.ohiogamefishing.com/communit ... p?t=192410 Good report. Great video at the Blue Dolphin site on walleyes on sideplaners, inline weights and worm harnesses.
  17. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/greatlakes/?c=tmp&l=le&p=a Lake Erie water temperature now.

  19. I do not think the ice boom will be holding back the ice this year that we get it down the lake from Ohio as we usually do. The fishing starts on the Bar after the ice from Lake Erie is gone and there is none so far this year. I believe we will be fishing early this year on the Bar in the warm waters from Lake Erie that turn the fish on when the water temperature reaches 48 degrees F. We usually started around March 15 for the local warm water flows from the nearby creeks, ditches and the Youngstown Waste Water plant even though the ice was still in Lake Erie and the river. Have your boat ready now and be fishing early March or maybe even February on warm days.
  20. I do not want any rules like this. New York State has so many rules, laws, regulations that it is impossible to keep up with everything some knee jerk politician can dream up. Texas just raised their speed limit to 75 MPH on the interstates. We need some Texas law makers here. I remember when the I90 was 70 MPH because building it justified a safe 80 MPH highway. There are too many anti everything people here who get their way because our lawmakers cow tow to their every whim. Let us have some elected who would plan on ending half of all of New York's stupid laws and regulations. By the way, I fished the Santee Cooper reservoir in South Carolina and a fellow alone had 24 rods in the water for catfish and he could have had more if he wanted.
  21. http://www.metalcraftmarine.com/html/sentry_32.html http://www.willieboats.com/asaltor.htm This might be too big and you would need a big truck to haul it around. Any way search welded aluminum boats for more manufacturers.
  22. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/gwr.aspx You could look at this stuff for a good idea on choosing the best long life grease.
  23. http://www.workboat.com/newslog.aspx?id=12169#log12159 More info.
  24. My experience has been with brown grease, change it every year. With the blue, waterproof, high temperature disc brake grease, you are good to go for a long time.
  25. The first meeting will be held Thursday, January 17, 2012 @ 7:30 PM at the new club located at the former Club Lorelei, Rte 20 and Pleasant Avenue, Hamburg, NY. Entries for thr Tournament are available. Memberships also. Complete with 17 acres of land, this will become WNY's meeting place for the outdoor people. Everyone is welcome to join and get acquainted with a lot of fishing people. The bar will be open and pizza is expected to be served. There are complete kitchen facilities which will function soon. All fishermen from the bass, salmon, trout, musky and perch will find someone they can connect with here.
