  1. What can I say, I like to dream... Heard tonight there will be 35 teams this weekend...
  2. Hey Steve, That's what we're hoping for!! We're not discouraged either, but being newbie's this year, we're not expecting to fill the Penn Yan with lunkers, but it would be nice to get some decent fish! Thank you to those who report on their trips and offer some tid bits of info!
  3. Yeah, I saw the pics from the tourney site with the same dudes holding the plaques. We'll do our best at it and if nothing else, we'll have some fun and hopefully put a couple 2+ lb'ers in the boat!
  4. Yikes! I sure hope we can find them this coming weekend for the Perch Master's Tourney!! This is turning into quite the challenge!!
  5. Good luck Steve!! I look forward to reading your report later!!
  6. Well, I did say I like a challenge. But is it really that cut-throat on Seneca: all or nothing? Where are the dinks? I figured we would at least catch small fish, and the challenge would be cathcing the bigger fish, but we didn't see, catch, hear or taste ( ) anything other than our bait! Well, I have two weeks to figure it out before the Perchmaster's Tourney...
  7. Hit Seneca for the first time Sunday and hit the water at dark o' thirty at the north end. Started just south of Glass Factory Bay and worked our way south past Kashong Point. We casted drop shots with fatheads and rosies. Came up blank for the day. Saw quite a few other boats out, but didn't see a single fish landed. Spoiled by the fantastic perch fishing in Sodus, we were humbled by the experience. So, if anyone familiar with fishing Seneca for perch would like to take me out and show me the ropes, I would be more than happy to return the favor with a king salmon trip on Lake Ontario (my team's main forte ). Just shoot me a PM!!
  8. Yeah, I know the perch there are a guarded treasure, but saying you're fishing the tourney isn't giving anything away! I'm not affraid to let people know which tournies we're fishing - that way they know the bar is being set high!!
  9. Soooo, apparently we are the only team fishing the tournament... Hmmm...
  10. Ok, let's have a sound off for who's fishing the Perch Master's Tournament on Seneca. Team Finders Keepers is spreading our territory down to Seneca this year and fishing the Perch Master's for the first time. It'll be a challenge for us as we haven't fished the lake before, but we like a challenge! And we're looking forward to meeting all you at weigh-in!
  11. I am looking for a pair of otter boards, so if you happen to have a set you are looking to part with, please drop me a PM. Thanks!
  12. Nice job Mike!! Those are some sweet lookin' eyes!! I'd love to hook up with you sometime and target those toothy critters!
  13. Fished the west side of LeRoy Island on Friday and only iced about a dozen keeper perch and no pike to speak of. Pretty slow. We tried Port Bay today at the south end with no luck (only a few dink perch). Heading back to Sodus Wednesday...
  14. Heard today that there is a solid 4"+ around the islands and at the south end. I'll be heading out Friday am for some hard water action!!
  15. Anyone know the date for the Irondequoit tourney? Thanks!
  16. Sounds like a great idea!! Count team Finders Keepers in!! Would we need an observer?
  17. What body of water were you on? I'll be checking Sodus and Port Bay tomorrow for safe ice...
  18. Yeah, the jumbo's come in and there are some walleye in there too, but you have to work for them! Fish the drop-off on the NE side of Woodtrack for the walleye. I haven't been able to get out yet this fall, but hopefully I'll be getting my jigs wet before too long!!
  19. Last year there were quite a few browns and steelhead caught through the ice on Sodus Bay - Small minnows fished just under the ice and larger swedish pimples tipped with minnows on the jigging rods did the trick for us. We also iced a lot of pike, bass and decent perch as well. We c&r'ed the bass and pike, but those perch are mighty tasty!!
  20. Hey Dale, Let me know how you and Coup make out tomorrow!!
  21. After seeing you guys at the launch in Oswego, we were thinking of you when the winds came howling through Port Bay as we put the boat away in the boat house. I'm not giving up yet, Monday may be fishable...
  22. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Finders Keepers ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/30-31 Time on Water: 6-2, 6-10 Weather/Temp: Sunny & Warm Wind Speed/Direction: Light SW Waves: ripple Surface Temp: 74 Location: Oswego, Sodus LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 7, 4 Total Boated: 6, 0 Species Breakdown: 5 kings, 1 coho Hot Lure: green with green dots spin doc/ultra green glow fly Trolling Speed: 2.1 - 3.4 Down Speed: 2.5-2.9 Boat Depth: 60-200, 80-200 Lure Depth: 50-130, 80-130 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== 8/30 Headed east to the nuke plant and worked the area where did well during the FHC. Had 3 kings to 12 lbs in the boat in the first hour then washed lures for quite some time before we started heading back to the river and swung out deeper to 140-160 fow and did another 12 lb king, a beautiful 8 lb colored up pink coho, and finished with a real screamer that took us out to over 800 ft! 20 minutes later we boated a solid 48" 25 lb king: Big fish, but just didn't pack on the weight. Had one other release with nobody home, and had to call it a day at 2pm. 8/31 Had to be back early today, so we stayed closer to home and fished off of Sodus, hoping that things were setting back up again. We started over 80 fow and had an almost continuous screen of bait and fish on the bottom. First hour didn't produce any hits and after a couple change overs on the lures I found what they wanted: green with green dots spin doc/ultra green glow fly. First rip on the wire out 430'...gone as soon as I grabbed the rod. 0 for 1. 20 minutes later same rod fires...gone before I can get to it! Checked the hooks, still sharp, sent it back down. A little while later it fires again...gone again before I can get to it. WTF!! Then we washed lures for a while and ended out over 180-200 fow and marked a lot of real good hooks around 100-110 ft down. No takers and we had to pull lines at 10. I left that one rod 'til last and wouldn't you know, as I am pulling in the other dipsy rod, it fires and once again, gone before I get to it. I don't know if they were hitting the spin doc or what, but they weren't getting hooked. I only had one of those spin docs too and they didn't want anything else I offered in the same colors. Oh well, 1st 0'fer for me this year... We'll be out Thu-Mon if it doesn't get too rough... Good luck to everyone during the last leg of the tourney!! C'mon 40 lb'er!!!
