Saturday we had a half day charter, but after coming back to the dock 2 different times to drop off the "green" ones it only lasted till 10am. We didn't end up fishing for much more than a couple of hours total between trips to and from the marina. Ended up doing about 6 fish with a 10 & 13 year old tag teaming a 20# king being the biggest. Not much more to tell ya on that messed up morning. Sunday Rob (Legacy) joined us for some derby fishing till about 12:30. We fished the first couple hours in the 50'-70' range and did a few browns, 4 skippy kings, atlantic and a 10# coho. All were taken 50'-60' down on gator & nbk stingrays. Then we turned north looking for bigger fish and found that the most productive water for us was around that 250' area. We boated about 6 fish w/ a 20# & 27.5# kings being the biggest. Divers @ 200' and 240' were the best w/ a live wire spin doctor w/ a no see-um Fox fly. Took a couple of bows 60' down on the riggers and lost one dandy bow that put a great show on till the wire got in the way! The big king came 80' down on that same spin doctor fly combo. I still have not fired my down the shute copper yet this year and when the lead core is out instead, thats been quiet too. Is it only me or are the junk lines not producing that well this year? No complaints the fishing is awesome! Back out at some point this weekend. Good luck.

That screen was the best I've seen all year. Fish dive bombing bait for half the morning! The bigger fish we took were early morning and late morning. Skippy's in the middle. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -
Sat. we fished around that 200' area and did about 10 fish by 9:30. Nothing over 20#. We decided to run into that 70'-110' area and try to pop some brownies. Hardly any bait and very few fish. Gave it about an hour and a half and ended up with 2 fish on that decided to spit the hook. Monday we fished till 12:30 between lighthouse and Braddocks in 75' - 100fow. Our plan was to stick it out in there in hopes of a decent Brown for the derby. We ended up w/ over 30 fish on and landed over 20. It was very hot the first half of the morning and the second half was good, just not real fast. 20# king was the biggest. Biggest Brown was around 8#. We ended up catching the whole shabang! (Atlantic,Browns, bows, coho's, Kings and a few lakers). Diver's were very hot early w/ a nbk Stingray parked at 225' and my new favorite DW Spinny, a clear super glow green with a super glow green Fox Fly at 200'. I don't have a clue what that spinny is called. I even looked on the Dreamweaver site to find it and it wasn't there. All I know is that it's been working great in the first few hours before the sun gets high. My buddy even bought one and is doing fish on it also. The riggers were producing 75' - 85' down till about 11:00. After that the temp seemed to come up a bit and we were starting to fire at 60' - 75' down. Any Stinger or Stingray's w/ green on them took the fish. As for our down speed, we were crawling! Anywere from 1.2 - 1.7 was the best. We caught on to this very early after one of our first fish were on. We dropped the bags in to slow us down to get the fish to the net and then we started to pop other rods. Back out on Sat. Good luck!

Don't get the 30# flea flicker. A lot of guys didn't like it. Us and many others run the 20# ff and it works flawlessly.

Great job boys! See ya this weekend. -
Took the family out for a few hours Sunday morning due to the fact I 1st mated on Freedom Charters Sat. morning and we put a big time hurtin on the fish. So we went out to that 230' area and did our fish on the riggers 40-70'down and wires out 250' w/ a live wire spinny/ spotted no see-um Fox fly. Current was as strong as ever seen it. Had to troll almost 4mph to get 2.3 down speed. We put a 11.14# bow on the board that probobly wont make it past this week. Lots of big bows around. My wife Jean brought in this 20# King that took the spindoctor on the wire and ran to about 650'. She brings these fish in like she's been doin it for years. We tried having my daughter Mikayla bring in some fish w/ a little help, but those rods are just too much for her. I think she won every sorry and uno game she played out there though!

John is out of state for a graduation. I found this out when we went to weigh our bow yesterday. Took it to the cove and you know what happens when you visit the cove.

We did many fish today on the less action side w/ a 20" leader. When it starts to push into august I do better w/ longer leaders and on the fast action side. -

I guess it could be a brown. I'm not seeing the pronounced X's and the tail doesn't look forked at all. We caught one last weekend and you couldn't miss the X's. I'm not posative either way. Just leaning towards a Brown. -

Fishing is still ugly! Had a half day trip till 11:30am and ended up 5 - 6. 3 small kings, 10# bow and a 14# laker. Best depth was 90-130'. Riggers 50-60' down, 10 color core and 100' wire took our fish. Gr/slvr Stingrays and DW SS in grn/slvr also. We marked 2 pods of bait and a few fish all morning. Good water color, but still nothing in it. Good luck.

Fished till 10am today and ended up 3-4. Brown, atlantic and small king. 2 hits on lead core 8 colors out with blk/slvr/pink stingray, 30' rigger with a stinger shrimp and wire out 90' with a coyote stingray. 80 - 110 fow took all our hits. Gps speed was in the upper 2's. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

We run 12# on our rigger rods with 15# cheaters all the time with no problem at all. You'll be fine. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
