South end is ice free. The north end has pockets of ice in places, but it wont last long.

All I've ever had were Cannons. I have no opinion on other brands. Soon were getting a couple digitrolls to replace some older ones on the boat. The new digitrolls have bottom tracking and have a retrieval rate of 250'/minute! You just need to purchase a special transducer to be able to do this.

Fished the Avon Anglers tournament w/ Legacy yesterday. Rob weighed in 5 gills @ 1.19# and I weighed 5 gills @ 1.05#. We didn't see buckets of big gills, only an occasional big one. Some slob perch were brought in, some bass and a huge 9.80 walleye. All of the fishing was done on the southend. We didn't win anything, but we did learn what to do for next time. The tournament gave out free sausage, hots, pop & coffee after fishing too. Were gonna fish the Conesus tournament this Sat. Good Luck!

Big-o, Yes you can use line counter reels. We have an tekota 800lc and love it, but I only have the one set up. If I had to go and buy 4 - 6 set ups I may not go the line counter route, but then again I've been known to change my mind.

I had one too and if you just looked at it wrong the pilot would go out. I got rid of it and just use my old burner i've had for years. What was I thinking when I bought the mr. buddy that new technology would be better than old.
