Havn't any of you guys noticed fleas the last 2 years on your 30# line? The last 2 years I had to use 40# and it worked. 30# was loaded w/ fleas. Apparently their is a new strain of flea out there that is bigger.
I'm going to have 5 rods w/ 20# fleaflicker and 5 rods w/ my 14# big game. No more screwing around w/ fishing line when july hits.
My suggestion is to put 20# fleaflicker w/ 15# floro leader on your two rods until the end of june then run straight fleaflicker from july till the end of the season.
4 of us today. 3 perch guys and one pike guy. 45 perch and no pike. Fatheads on tip-downs and some on horizontal jigs. Size was down compared to a couple of weeks ago. Everyone going back to their cars said they got about squat.
It all has to do w/ what is popular at a certain time. Right now a ton of people are caught up in the popularity of flies right now. Their was a time when at least half of your spread were j-plugs. The more a certain product is in the water, the more chance we will see leaderboard fish caught on them.
Run what you do the best with at tournament time. Practice and experiment when it's not.
When we bought gold, it only came w/ one chip and the contour lines were included. This was about 1-2 years ago. I'll call my dad and confirm this info. He has everything at his house.
Yes their are contour lines, but they are very spread out after about 100' or so. I havn't been on the boat since labor day, so I'm going on memory here. Personaly, I think 200.00 is over priced.
We have the navionics gold and like it a lot. It is very usefull for the bar area. Our covers the whole lake and we've had it for a couple years now. It was a $200.00 chip.
Rob(Legacy) and I ended up w/ 90 perch and probobly caught at least 3 times that many. We were using tip-downs w/ fatheads. Ice is going to be iffy from now till the next cold spell. Oh yea, forgot about the token bullhead I caught.
I've read 1 book and thought the same thing. It's almost like he doesn't want to share too many of his personal secrets. Very basic. Any one of us could have wrote that kind of info. Maybe his other book is better? I don't know.
Very slow. 15 tip-downs out and about a dozen perch. ice is 4-5" under the slush. I think sunday's weather is going to kill it hard. Too bad I have a ton of time off work. May hit cranberry in the a.m.
Going out in the a.m. and wondering if their is any news on the perch fishing. I'll report after the trip tomorrow.
Why aren't they plowing the loop anymore?
I'll wait till next week. I did see one guy on the north end this afternoon about 3:00pm. The only open water I saw was at the channel and coming into the s.w. part of the bay. everything else looked good. A couple nights of some cold stuff and it should be solid again.
Disclaimer: This is only my opinion. I am not responsible for anyone falling through and getting their ankles wet.
Sounds like great news rick! I'm too busy this weekend but I should be out starting next week. I'm going to have some time off work the last 2 weeks of the month.
Are you still good for bowling monday night?
