No Promises replied to TOP SECRET's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
bobs_boy, Please just tell me it was Fish Stix that told you about that spin doctor. I should have never told him nothing. If it was him I'm going to burn his camper down and sink his boat -

Fish Stix, Why is bobs_boy talking to you about the Dalmation spin doctor :?:    That the last bit of info from me you'll get :!: P.S. to everyone reading this, that set up sucks nobody should run it -
times two, I just got my licesne in the mail last week. I went through Dennis class last winter, and it's a crash course on how not to crash on a course He has been difficult to get a hold of on the phone but I beleave he has that under control now. I would recomend the class to anyone how wants to learn a more about safe boating.

Experience from the Red Cross Tourny
No Promises replied to uglyokuma's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
uglyokuma, You did say bass boats rights. Drop the B and you have it. I have always wonderd if those boats have any speed but flat out. And before any body that has a b...ass boat emails me, talk to the hand. Better check the hand first it is missing some fingers :!: -
leadcore question
No Promises replied to BP Swing's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
BP Swing Do not know what everyone else dose but I start out in the spring with a 80-100' of 20# mono then 10' of floro. I will flat line with that, and as the fish beat on, and start running more and more colors I just cut off the fraid stuff and end out with maybe 20-50 feet on now. -
line for king salmon
No Promises replied to dremarquis's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
dremarquis The fleas collect on the smaller line more. The larger the diameter of line, the more difficult it is for them to hook their tails on the line. The fleas will be a lot greater in certain depth zone. When they get real bad you can see them on the fish finder if you turn up the gain. Sean -
Hughes 7/4 to 7/8
No Promises replied to Fishstix's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Thank for the ride on Friday. It was nice to beat the co-signer and my crew It's to bad you guys got the kings going. You can tell me what they came on I wouldn't use that in the Pro Am.......Not. On Saturday will tried for just kings and our first 7 were just kings by 1Pm with the best over 22. Tried for browns and put one back around 11 and had a small rainbow. End of the day 8 kings 1 brown and the rainbow. not to bad. Cya Friday. Sean -
Yes it looks like No Promises will be in the Am next weekend. Still a little ify on the observer for both days but should be alright. As long as we do not lose 9 fish in a row next weeekend. Fish stix, I showed you what to run for those kings but you can run that in the ProAm. If you do, the bill for that "finder's fee" will have a few extra 0's in it Sean

Fishing Spoons On Boards?
No Promises replied to exttrimmer's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
We run the small offshore boards 4x14" as well. We run the lead core off them and they seem to run just fine. The more colors you run, they do not track as far off the boat. I also have the otter boards in the boat but we do not run them. I have a higher loss rate with the otters than with the smaller offshore boards. This may have been just a few bad weekends but that's fishing. The smaller boards are much easier to bring in and out when boat traffic is, lets same competitive. Sean -

Fishing Spoons On Boards?
No Promises replied to exttrimmer's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I will second what w.w.iv. said. We run everthing off the boards, it just depends on your target depth. I love running the lead cores off the boards. If you do not run them you should start :!: -
Ok this is not a King Salmon. I have been going out of sodus all season and have been waiting for the kings. The weekend I go to Wachapreague VA, the kings show up. I am sure by this weekend they will be gone. Had fun with the tuna

Sunday at Sodus
No Promises replied to A&M's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
We did the same as A&M. fished with a friend of mine west of Hughs, or east of sodus, we were 15 of 17 all browns with a big lamprey and a sawbelly. We quit around 9:30. Every color and rod type worked. The lamprey was the only one that did not go back in the water in good condition. His head just seemed to fall off Saturday was good to, got to put a brown on the board then went out deep 600+. What a waste of time that was. nothing but a 5 hour boat ride out and back. Sean -

Fish Stix, sorry I have not been on the net alot. This most be the first time in a few months. How did you do on Sunday? I believe our brown that we got on Saturday is off the board  Dave and I quit pretty early on Sunday he had a funeral to go to. I tried you on the celll # but no answer. Luck charm No Promises -
If want more than the 6-8 feet try the slide driver. You can then use any distance you want.

Trolling Speed at the lure
No Promises replied to chief1751's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I have both cannon and fish hawk speed and temp. They are a half a MPH different. best way to check is set probe down 5 feet and look at lure till it running the way you want and check the probe speed. Then run at that speed. -

Does anyone have a GTM 40, the little grey temp Gizmos :?: I am looking to buy one. Sean
-
Turp, I have not used the sub troll or the depth raider before. I have both the Fish hawk and the cannon speed and temp on the boat. I already had the cannon when I bought a different boat that had the fish hawk. I strongly believe that once somebody gets "One" you will never fish without one again. I LOVE the Cannon. It gives you temp/speed/light % at an EXACT DEPTH. None of the others gives you all that info. The speed with the digital reading is the best. I have trolled and not had a fish hit for hours. Speeding up even one tenth of a MPH has made all the difference. I never use the fish hawk, the speed jump back and forth too much to do any good. But I have had probe issues with the cannon. :? They sent me a new one pretty quick.
