  1. Your the Man Vince, you got me !!! Bring the Crazy B*tch down, hmmm ?? Nope too scared just yet but that time will come !!!!! You guys would love to get me up against the ropes (: I love the learning stage years that I am in, with many goals left to accomplish, one to board the Viking and mesh with the King of it all for a tourney !!!! The Wilson Invitational will be fun, lots of top teams to showcase their skills in a first for the south shore type event. Hopefully all will enjoy it the way we enjoy the tightliner !!! Good stuff with a full compliment of events throughout 2011 TEAM THRILLSEEKER, overdue for a lake series title, if you keep letting us all off we are going to start to catch up to them 6 over-all titles of yours !!! I think 2011 is going to be somewhat of a defining year. There are thoughts afloat of yet another joining of forces to name an over all Champion of it all on Lake Ontario in years after 2011 Tom
  2. Team VQ will be there Vince, and Pete said we were chasing you down for the KOTL title once again along with Karl, Pete said he knew your program, and what you were up to. Pete also said watch out Vince !!!! No more helping you like in the past just for you to come back and kick our arse. Pete also said your lucky the 2010 fall Dalhousie was canceled as he had your number during pre-fish !!!! Pete is fired up !!!! I won't tell you all that he said though as I know your too smart and would use that info to your benefit !!! Tom
  3. ITO, I apologize for the hijacking !!! I commend you on your efforts, best of Luck to you and IMO your right on track by upgrading components, for what the average angler spends to hit the big lake a few extra pennies will not be spared to take advantage of our Awesome Lake Ontario Fishery Tom
  4. as a present Bill ??? 246 West 7th Street I will gladly promote Siggs Rigs if the case !!! I mean we are somewhat good buds you and I Tom
  5. Wrong again, lacking info and bad or misleading calculations Custom tempered and manufactured rattle cost per unit 18 cents G wall HE Surgical tubing cost per unit 3 cents 3 sets of 1099's in place from "piece work" which include 4 jobs: -Fly manufacture $50.40/120 flies or 42 cents per unit -Harness manufacture $68/gross or 47 cents per unit -Fly sheath manufacture cost and reversal of fly about 11 cents per unit -All Fly components set in packaging 29 cents per unit Injection molded heads from Starprototype about .01 Beads from Engineering labs about 1 cents per unit (x2) PVC and laminate film mostly from xxx, converted mostly by xxx, and needled by xxx, & much shipping, total avg. price about 16 cents a fly when said and done (Flagship has not done work for me in about 3 years, just an FYI) (Purple Taco is a friend but less than 10% of our product line come from Curt's films) Silicone sheets on average, on top of non silicone enhanced flies about 10 cents per unit Gamma 100% 50# Fluoro $2675/9140 meters (41" per harness) or 31 cents a fly Owner SSW Cutting Point #4/0 27 cents per unit Owner 2X ST-41BN #2 Stinger Treble 28 cents per unit Blister cards glued 2 cents Blisters 4 cents Another wrong statement projected concerning FET: FET is subject to each "title passing" if further manufacture is represented but not to include initial tax, which is incurred on my end at full manufacture & averaged on wholesale selling price of approx. 4.89 or about 49 cents/unit (2010) - Avg. selling price includes dealer direct wholesale, dealer direct retail and distribution *not on price as "noted" of stated wholesale cost to A-TOM-MIK Cost 2.71 FET .49 3.20 cost to A-TOM-MIK +/- .05 Then you can take out mentioned initial extras, like not 1 but 3 blister machines purchased so far, 4 compressors, many new and rebuilt templates, several thermal bar code label printers, labels, blister card artwork design charges and added charges from changes through the years, insurances and maintenance etc. etc. etc. Some of the initial investment to date for needed expenditures is nearing 50 grand, not even including a few thousand pounds of bulk films purchased that range in price from $5 to $15 lb., much that will never even see use in the lifetime of my business due to qty, or the hundreds of finished pounds of loose films ready for manufacture Your behind the times flytying, and out-dated with 95% of all info you attempt to continually pluck and spread from my small, home based business . LMAO !! Tom
  6. Incorrect Info from flytying Our last direct purchase from Owner of 10,000 2X ST-41BN #2 Stinger Trebles was $2,795.00 -FET or about 28 cents a hook. Our last direct purchase from VMC of a somewhat "dealer implied" comparable hook of 1000 2X 9650TR #1 VMC Trebles was about 90+ bucks -FET or about 9 cents a hook. Same hook purchased through Shorty's was only a few pennies more as well as a few various but comparable styles You will not find Owner "Stinger" trebles cheaper than any VMC anywhere on today's market (to the best of my knowledge), Owners average 3 to 4 times the price of any comparable VMC. I am not implying a VMC is a bad hook as all manufacturers can make a great product in various styles. 10,000 3X Owner ST-56 BN #2 -FET $3325.00 33.25 cents ea. 1,000 2X VMC 8650BN #1 -FET $86.50 8.65 cents ea. 10,000 2X EC L375 #1/0 -FET $875.00 8.75 cents ea. Dependent upon purchasing power in qty or purchasing Original Equipment Manufacturing, by the time these hooks are packed to code in some instances, shipped, excise taxed and manufactured with the price can increase significantly to the consumer. Just an FYI Tom
  7. Just noticed Hank, I'm always late (:
  8. Bob Walters has a passion un-matched by any I know in a Musky hunter. I would believe there to be a more than ample amount of time in giving this huge fish all the chance it could possibly be given. Anyone can pass judgment but when it boils down to first hand experience with the likes of one's attitude, concerned with a certain passion, it makes for a pretty easy call to feel Bob truly did do his best to save this fish. I know at times through my last 20+ years of experience being around various anglers who cut up 40 lb. Kings or Browns and Steelies weighing high 20's, this leads us to feel the same way about all. Just not the case with Bob. I actually witnessed a call from The Fish Doctor Ernie to Bob 4 or 5 years ago when news was traveling about VHS, Bob was helping us with Net Pens at the time as he often donated space for our pens. Bob was hit hard with the news from Ernie, he was quiet for hours, I felt his passion first hand like a lost pet or a child from a parent. Just a thought Tom
  9. Captain Mike Conroy dropped me a call a few minutes ago to fill me in on a great catch from a friend of ours here in Oswego Capt. Bob Walters, of Water Wolf Charters in Clayton, hoists a 59-inch muskie caught by his client Ed Beers, of New Jersey, on the St. Lawrence River on Nov. 30. Walters and others are saying the fish, which unofficially weighed in at 56 pounds, with a 28-inch girth, is the largest muskie caught on the river in 50 years. For Walters, it was the 100th muskie landed on his boat since he started running his charter service. One of his clients also landed and released a 55-incher earlier in the season. Bob was trolling a Believer off from a Big Jon Otter Boat borrowed from Team Sea Devil !!! The big dogs of the business continue to rack em' up big I was lucky enough to attend one of Bob's seminars about 7 years ago on taking Muskie's, Bob knows his stuff !!! Great job Bob, were proud of you !!! http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2010/ ... video.html Tom
  10. A No Communication Event !!!! -One great quality in a tournament that has proven its worth in the past, year after year, growing some events to 80 and 90 total teams -The same great quality in an tourney that keeps the Canadian based "Tightline Shootout" topping the charts as "One of the Best" and a sell-out yearly !!! -The Wilson Harbor Invitational will as well be a "NO COMMUNICATION" event -Coming from one of the most involved single entities who participates in as many events as anyone on Lake Ontario, I feel a high amount of respect should be shed for an event that is willing to work with the same entities that make the event possible in the first place Also for future reference talks are in the works to spread this type event well eastward, possibly as soon as 2012 to hopefully button up a series type of venues to further cater to the liking of what a majority of anglers have been wishing for after quite some time. "Build it and they will come" the intention !!! Kevin and crew have their work cut out for them as they have high intentions, but for those who will have to choose to fish certain events d/t financial circumstance, these will certainly cater to a greater liking. A leveler playing field, a unique-ism among its kind and a new style of post event catering that smaller events like my 2010 A-TOM-MIK Challenge touched upon this past summer. Sweet !!!! A few more of the strong points of this event IMO -6 rod limit to cater to more teams and level the playing field -One class of anglers -Salmon Only -Possible point structure eligibility for the Scotty's events over-all KOTL -Observers -American/Canadian open waters -Shotgun start Tom
  11. Wow, 15" Perch That is huge, wish I could catch one that big !!! Tom
  12. CRAZY B*TCH First time in my life after about 10 boats I ever had the chance to name a boat of mine after (my g/f of 11 years) Not sure much more explanation is needed (: (: Tom

    Sackets area

It's been a season of weather, continuing right into our fall perch fishing. Last few days we have manged to fill coolers but not without enduring some of the roughest water, horrible winds and a few days of temps starting off our mornings around the freezing mark. As far as locations one day we are off the red can at Sackets the next day we are in whites bay. Actually been fishing about 20 different spots for my last 7 trips. Perch have not been as easy as past years but I feel due to much of the same weather. Yesterday we got em good though for a while, but as fast as we found em we lost em and actually went a few hours taking none after sitting on a school for a while!!!! Little Perch P.orn from the last few days Not a bad batch Part of the next trips mother-load, large over 11" Tom
  16. Thanks all John, I remember well !!! Tim was my inspiration from 2001, and when I told him that at my first trade show he responded by saying nobody ever said that to him before. I will always respect Tim Best of luck Tom
  17. Congrats !!! .... Oh No ~~~~ Hell Yeah !!!!! Yee Hah ...... Best wishes and good luck Enjoy.................. Tom
  18. Thanks guys. Hi Mark, please keep in mind this has been my experience with my tourney involvement, thus fishing with the likes of many different personalities. If you were to acquire info from some of the teams I have been fortunate enough to fish with through the years you would probably get mixed signals. To simply answer your question my personal opinion is: I am not sold on "theories" of generated energies 100%, from various presentations, ie. copper line, rigger cable hum, e -chips to name just a few. I do however run a black box on my own boat, I do run leader lengths off my copper from advice of the likes of Jimmy Samia (someone who is 100% SOLD on a certain energies created theory) and is also one heck of a fisherman. I sort of sell myself on a percentage of what many of the top dogs are selling themselves on, and again to repeat, that is due to the personalities I have confronted myself with. My response to you would be I would rather have zero hum than "any" hum at all. Just my opinion. I do have more of an explanation but in all honesty I am considering writing a book and will save a bit of this and that on many subjects. I feel there has been a general thought dispersed concerning many tactics, but to the best of my knowledge there is yet any great detail yet available "out there" that also interests the pro's. Tom
