A-TOM-MIK Triple Crown Over-all 1) Screamer/A-TOM-MIK.............289.30 2) Hat Trick................................246.65 3) Lucky Enuff/Big Weenie...........231.30 4) Spankmayer..........................227.20 5) Good Times/Big Weenie ........ 220.20 6) Flash Five...............................209.90 7) Tall Tails.................................207.30 8 ) Dixie Dandy............................206.65 9) Trout One/Sigg's Rig's..............201.40 10) Horsin Around........................194.85 These are my official results, if anyone has a team who fished both Oswego and Mexico and you feel you are ranked in the top 10, or that I mis-calculated please drop me an E mail and I will share with you my spread sheets from where I derived these standings I only crunched numbers for top 10, Winner will receive $1000 cash and the cup for one year that is presently held by Team Big Fin/Sea Devil After a few mentions if I was paying down past 1st place, for this year we will in fact only pay the top spot as we did last year, as that is how we advertised. However if any teams feel they have a team who would consider paying an entry into our Triple Crown for 2011 please drop me an e mail. [email protected] I would consider paying out 3 or 5 places for 2011 with an entry fee for fishing all 3 events. A-TOM-MIK would still kick in the first $1000 cash for 2011 if interested and we would pay out 100% of entries on top of our $1000 cash prize. For now this prize package is free to all teams and I would have to consider options for any interested teams Please realize all top 10 teams still do have a crack at that top spot: With DQ's, boat breakage, banner catches and schedules for certain teams that will not fish all 3 events there is always that chance If I mis-spelled a team name or you would like your team names worded differently please e mail me and I will correct Tom -

Much of this input is the very reason I have been the strongest sole advocate of a Closed Communication policy from the beginning, there is no single entity that has tried harder to make it happen. Others who have been as adimate have either gave up or moved on without future tourneys in their sights All of which would create a much better feeling with a win among other things. However maybe to look at it in another twist would shed some added light: We are competing because we love to compete, we love to rank ourselves amongst the competition, the ultimate goal is to achieve this upon the levelest of playing fields. A very high majority of the "elite" anglers of today are communicating, we have to for the most part as a huge majority of everyone around us certainly are. You can pick out the few that are not very easily, the "THRILLSEEKER" or Prime Time Pete's of the crowd, just so happens these team have been around and experienced it all, right from the beginning. We deal with cheaters in all that we do (hence the original topic of this thread before my hijacking) to play one on one in a level atmosphere would lift many attributes of our praised tourney fishing. Without a doubt I feel all would agree with that. But with having to deal with cheaters, working within a wide range of rules and bringing many attitudes together all breed various attempts to still remain on top and achieve that ultimate goal in a win. I have often felt I would rather come in 10th place under Closed Communication than come in 1st under Open. But coordination does not offer that chance under the current rules. So we play within the rules as is allowed. The speed limits on highways are 65 mph, if we were to drive 40 we would get run over, just as in a tourney. I even think you could possibly get a ticket for unsafe driving at that slower speed. As much as it is drawing near a time for Tom and A-TOM-MIK to back down and quit crying all over the internet, it is also drawing near a time for coordinators "of certain LO south shore prestigious fishing events" to realize some bad choices have been made, time to regroup, save face, cut the losses and see the light. The betterment of these events still have a chance as BC2 may not have. Wake the **** up coordination !!!!! Tom

Spoken from the heart Dex, and with the utmost truth Closed Communication could easily work alone for points you pointed out pretty clearly. You also touched upon a very important key issue that should be openly known and respected. That of which should not draw questions during camera interviews like, "After your last win, competitors and event coordinators alike are staring to question your teams wins due to communication, what do you have to say about that? Tom Burke professionally stated that his team would use all rules to the best of our ability to take a win. His first vote would be not to communicate only if ALL teams were to work under the same rules. As Dex stated "to learn to adapt and use it to our advantage" is key. Team Cold Steel went from many "No Communication" events into many "Open Communication" events and did just that under the lead of our Captain Tom Burke. Dex, it is hard to imagine our "many event winner" and leader Vince to start to communicate as you have possibly mentioned, lol. But if he chooses to after "pressures to compete" many teams could be in trouble. If certain coordinators are honestly looking into the future of key events on LO a closer look at the Closed Communication rule should be deserved. As dreaded claims of intimidation by coordination are only going to tighten the top teams of players. Would obviously be an easier selling point with fewer teams in cahoots !!!! Tom
-
Congrats Glen, it was a pleasure talking with you at Sodus You took down past Am teams with the likes of many top players Well deserved Tom

One chuckle I can never keep at bay is that of the reasoning behind rulings of must have "Open Communication" We can have a signed "waver" for certain liabilities that cover certain criteria in some events, but yet we can't have a waver that covers potential communication liabilities. OMG Give me a break that it can not be enforced, however all other rules can, ok whatever !!!! In one breath certain coordinators in certain events say it must be open, closed case In the next they can be the first to blat out how they "disagree" a win from a certain team was "due to communications" Hypocritical of the pot calling the kettle black All rules can possibly be broken, I would give more credit if any coordination from any event was to "be a bit it more honest with us and themselves" and simply say "Hey, I run this show and I want it open communication" Instead of hiding behind falsely claimed potential issues. As far as BC2 and observers, whether an "optimum" observer or a "sleeper", I like the observer rules and feel they do more good than harm. Camera crews on vessels also are sure to help keep players on track, however most anglers who gather teams are not going to want to take expenses out of potential winnings to carry an added burden of a physical camera. Tom

Rod One of the most confounding mysteries in all of political thought stems from the fact that most 'politicians' are not caring people. As a general rule they have no real friends and the only values that most of them attempt to display are nothing more than 'markers' on an ever-spinning wheel that answers to whichever way the winds of popularity might blow. That is not the same thing as having anything that could pass for any basis in the whirlwind of our lives. Politicians are nothing more than jumbled puzzle pieces that from time-to-time are stuck together by greed and by those twisted forms of power that are constantly shifting like heaps of autumn leaves, at the mercy of every passing breeze. It is no wonder then that their actions mystify most people, because politicians answer to something that the rest of us consider artificial. People must live by their values, which are not separate from the most intimate parts of life and death. Politicians believe that they can 'create' facts by passing laws that contravene the laws of nature and of life, and therein lies the basic disconnect between 'people' and their so-called leaders. This nation died when our politicians figured out how to vote themselves money: From that point forward these so-called 'servants of the people' began to treat us as their slaves. We no longer run the houses that we live in anymore than we have any say in what the policies of this nation ought to be. If we were still capable of critical thought then this nation would have long ago left all these childish games-of-politics behind. "A simple Quote" Tom -

Just very proud of what I have been able to accomplish through the years and didn't expect the lack of appreciation for my efforts No opportunity was ever given to me concerning the Pro/Am's mal-functions, it was a cut and dry case, this is the way it is going to be type approach and we do not care what you have done for us in the past Was a hit to my pride, I was proud of how my business had grown with the teams that represented me, was proud that I could help the very events I loved to be involved with and with something I loved to do. Not sure about your latest approach or twist on the issue? Not sure where your coming from or where your going with what you've said, first your concern was with your dads mistakes, then you were "only" passing along some proverbs? Either way many who have followed have related to my issues, without "this much info" that you feel should of been kept out of the lime light, now most will always know how it all went down !! Instead of merely accepting future responses and answers from Pro/Am personnel, to what would of leaned obviously in favor of. I was always willing to "step up" but it all stopped when I was too proud to be set back a notch. Tom -

Well Rod, Maybe I am starting to disagree with more than only coordination I recall my first ever job like it was yesterday, I was loading lettuce boxes on the back of an old army truck 250 boxes per truck 3 trucks per 18 wheel van trailer It was my job as low man on the totem pole, to see that the boxes were stacked on the army truck nice and neat so that all 250 boxes could be stacked and so that only 3 trips were necessary up the hill. I was low man, but for 2 seasons worth of probably hundreds of trips I was commended for my efforts, never was there asked more of me as long as I did my job, I made 2.50/hour and worked about 60 hours a week. I was the proudest young teen muck worker I think this crew ever had. As to this day almost 30 years later, the then crew leader, now owner still drives past my moms house daily. While at my moms Mr. Gianetto always stops to tell me he wishes he had me still loading boxes today as "I was the best" I stand by all my decisions concerning Pro/Am involvement, and I am PROUD to say I gave it my all, but when my all was shaved away and the bar was lifted on expectancies it was time for me to simply go away. That I have done If my business goes under tomorrow or next year I guess coordination, yourself and a very few others could stand correct !!!! I would rather "go under" proud than stay "on top" and lose dignity Tom -

No ridicule needed upon a trying voice...... All info below is strictly IMO So what "would" be the right thing? For the Pro/Am or the "involved" and/or participants : in relation to A-TOM-MIK the "right" thing may not be available !! What "could" I do to help? Your attitude is good Ray, but for the Pro/Am, a good attitude was obviously never enough, as "more" was always expected on many levels, but to give back was never an option or offered, nor was there or is there any room for exception What "should" we do tomorrow? If "we" is the Pro/Am support group or future participants: Be ready to give all your "heart" can shell out, shed all you may, and expect great acceptance but zero "say". Tom -

A-TOM-MIK replied to ray koziatek's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Ray, I applaud your enthusiasm, truly I do I've had a love for any competitive type excitement ever since I saw the first angler walk into a tackle shop (when I was behind the counter) and weigh in a fish back during the ESLO and CLASSIC events of the 80's. The eagerness, intensity and passion was something I always hoped I could relate to on a much more personal note. Actually went out at the end of one summer after I had saved my cash and bought a brand spank'n new 1986 14" Sea Nympth aluminum boat with a 15 HP Evinrude and stuck 2 hand crank riggers, a bottom line graph, some down easter and also some PVC rod holders and some running lights. I was in business and fished my first derby event ever that next spring From then till now my passion evolved to a near un-controllable state. I can honestly say I have yet to meet a sole who plans as much as me, near a year in advance to fish every tourney and derby style event that I can cram into as many weekends possible out of any given summer. I'm addicted in a way that simply scares me at times, often while on my drive to a any pre-fish or tourney day I try to stay constantly in tune with where I will be the following weekend. After many years of this it finally sank in at some point that I had followed through with initial intentions and had years behind me and hadn't even realized it. My involvement was carried out without question and only to constantly grow in many ways surrounding many tourney scenes. To be involved 100% without hesitation and to sponsor such along the way was never questioned. Each season would grow and grow and never plateau, the more of what was asked of me and my business was welcomed on all levels, the more they asked the more I gave, I ate it up like a kid in a candy store, one event then the next, one season more than the last, added expectancies and additional cash and product never denied !!!!!! ............... Then it happened for the first time ever, the A-TOM-MIK name that all were use to hearing of, whether it be a LOC leader board or a local tournament, finally had some sequences of turbulence............ One shiny happy morning while I was "hooking up" an additional Pro/Am team for the Pro division heading into Niagara, docks were booked, rooms were rented, team names being created as many in the past were. Team Cold Steel/A-TOM-MIK, Team Screamer/A-TOM-MIK, the list goes on. ..... But that was to be no more in the same light as years past......... My help and personal promotion was not looked up to as I had previously thought. The rave and satisfaction of my portrayed passions was being put to a screaming halt. I was on the phone within seconds, thoughts of how I could possibly be stripped of the exact avenue that helped my success and quite frankly enabled my sponsorships to grow in the route that the A-TOM-MIK name had been able to achieve and support year after year. How could this be? Why would they do this to me................What ???? No way !!!!! Un Real !!!!!!!!! So, I figured I would b*tch along the way but stay involved, Niagara was a blow on one day and I didn't get to see weigh-in as the teams scattered. Orleans was a turning point for me, the dramatic intenseness that I always felt was gone, I had been on many top teams in past years that had won and or had lost, however I always maintained and easy composure. I struggled with a bad taste in my mouth for weeks after Orleans, I was no longer liking the Pro/Am scene. I was committed to my team but sent them the news I was done after 2010 with the Pro/Am's, Oswego came and brought a win for us, a bit easier to swallow but still roaming thoughts, Sodus the same, it felt nice and the sheer drama brought that tear as so many events have. But as of today the feeling of bitter/sweet is plainly evident. Twists of the knife are still freshly felt, insulting acts towards A-TOM-MIK residing in daily thoughts. I brought my kids fishing just today, as we were reaping havoc off the shores in O-Town on some BT's my daughter told her friend, "My dad is a great fisherman, he has a million trophies" a quick tear fell fast and nasty thoughts abruptly interrupted a time that should of brought pleasure. The Pro/Am scene does not log good for my small business or me in the future, politics have reared their ugly head Ray, and I may simply be too weak of a person to overcome the dis-pleasure I am feeling even after the bitter sweet weekend of Sodus, time will tell as I often say. Again, I do applaud your enthusiasm, your a great guy !!!! As far as a new tourney, I do not consider myself an undermining individual, even though the Canadian ministry does feel that way, lol, no comment on a new tourney as of now on that note, I do feel the Oswego Pro/Am is in need of some desperately needed help though, considering it has fallen in entrants even since unification, this after constant growth with help from Troy Creasy and Gerry Bresadola. After all it did grow for a straight 10 year period to 78 teams. Tom -
Blurred Images fixed I was told? LOL now images not even shown Actually 95% of all images that had A-TOM-MIK in them have been entirely removed Guess I can give them the benefit of the doubt after their apology, maybe they are fixing them to put them back up What a joke so far Oswego Pro/Am is setting up in 2011 for about "40 something" teams I predict at current progress Hmm, what happened last time I predicted something............ He He He Tom
-
Can't deny the smile............. Hats off to the Billy V team, they put it together in very rough seas on day 2, nice job men. Team Cold Steel has been on that side of the very close weights and lost on "many an occasion", I realize we have won a lot through the years since 2001 aboard the Cold Steel, however to be on the winning side of a close weight felt nice, very sorry it had to be at the expense of the Billy V team. Great job Bill !!! As far as another Team Cold Steel win: Captain Tom Burke made the "call of calls" by an early day 2 run of about 10+ miles to the west, Capt. Tom did not like the westerly troll into the washing machine nor did he like the fact that the temps were blown out from the strong winds. Without moving a rod for more than an hour and a half and with exactly no more extended ado the team heard the famous words from Capt. Tom......... "Pull em".......... and we were off picked and ran, which set the stage for a few hours worth of better temps and a more favorable troll, about 20+ bites later, a great landing percentage and much weeding through very short fish. We even tried to get the last rods out of the water to maybe head a bit deeper for a big guy when our last fish hit a fly rig off my wire diver, a fat 6 lb BT off a King rig that had fired an ample amount of times......... we were done. Kudo's to Andy Bliss for some awesome rigging and keeping the rods flying during the usual short period of the bite, he made it happen for us after Tom brought us to the promise land. Never did we expect to take a win with our bleak box of many smaller fish, un-knowing of what the day would bring we had no other thoughts of what to expect out of our catch. We were amazingly blessed with another cup win after Top Gun had even a smaller box and Team Screamer just couldn't take their fish, unreal to say the least when these teams and others make up some of the best guys on the lake. I would also like to mention that Dave Turner offered me a personal apology in front of my team for the "Welcome to Oswego" site blurred images, I appreciate that apology very much. Tom
