  1. Here's the way I see it: I made a statement by withdrawing from sponsorship, this after I was given "what I thought" were weak excuses as to why they did not want the A-TOM-MIK name in association to the many teams I was represented by. Prior to my "statement" it was brought about as no big deal, then a few others dropped out of sponsorship on their own accord due to similar feelings. At this point in time the realization was setting in that the importance of a sponsors name "well placed" was really "more important" than originally thought. So, as to not lose more interest "they" started using sponsors names at the start of the tournaments in the very ways they said they would not: Example, internet spread sheets, while MC'ing on stage and while calling off winners to stage. One weak explanation given was it was too hard to increase cell size on spread sheets, another later on was that it was too difficult to keep them straight and fit them on white boards, even the accusation of "the chance at hurting future potential entrants by calling out a sponsored name" Meanwhile at each venue with clipboard in hand several of the sponsors that are left are rattled off with ease. They don't seem to be too worried now days about hurting potential future teams.............. LMAO Politics !!!! Nothing more than guilty of trying to "save face" at that point and now letting a political call get personal Blocking out the A-TOM-MIK name on an Oswego County, NY - FB Page http://www.facebook.com/visitoswegocounty For all I know it was "paid tax payer personnel" hard at work burning up them tax-payer dollars to sort through quite a few photos looking for only A-TOM-MIK apparel (: Oh well, as I b*tch and moan it will not only be the end of any A-TOM-MIK sponsorship towards these events, it will also be the end of my involvement at the conclusion of Sodus, as I must hold up my dedication to the Cold Steel Team only It was all fun until it became political, as they continue to widdle away at the sponsors and now the entries of our Oswego event losing us one by one its obvious it will never click once politics are involved. I will now join the rash of Ex-Pro/Am anglers that Oswego has a host of due to various AGENDA's Tom

  8. Unreal, wish they would of contacted me I had to ask at least 10 teams if I could have their fish Out of 10 teams I had only 3 give me theirs, (for friends I had hoping for fillets) and this was after others took what they wanted from each catch. There were ample anglers around if the parties who wasted theirs were to take 5 minutes and ask around. In the future if you see me around please ask me as I know of 4 to 5 different families who would be willing to keep fish vs. the opposite This is only while at Oswego, as I do not want to have to ice them at different events. It's a shame Tom
  9. Just a reminder A-TOM-MIK has goods to give away Get your pictures in anglers viewtopic.php?f=48&t=14716&start=0 http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/photo_contest.htm
  10. Just wanted to extend a huge amount of thanks for representation from 8 of the top 10 2010 Oswego Pro/Am (Pro division) teams who all Pro Staff for A-TOM-MIK It was partially a BT show for some, but key Kings taken by most teams aiding in placements. Also a big thanks to ALL TEAMS who dedicate these weekends and for your representation. Thanks for your support A-TOM-MIK teams Tom
  11. Actually many many different types of events all season long, you mentioned "Tourney's" but there are also "derby" style format's out there Salmon Only (KOTL) Different species (Pro/Am) Derby Format (LOC) spring summer and fall Derby Format weekly (GOSD) One day and several day team events Smaller low dollar vs. higher dollar events (ranging from $60/entry to $600/entry) Something for everyone, why are there different types you ask? Rules boil down to coordination, or a single events head coordinator's likings. The group or individual putting the most work into each event will usually dictate rules. I know if I was to run an event and I was the one making up the legwork I would want to enjoy it to its fullest, some would want to cater to their individual likings or try to achieve satisfaction from potential entrants Speaking for the KOTL Yvan Charrios obviously likes the way his event is ran with Salmon Only, he probably feels by running this event this way would accrue the highest amount of interest Maybe in another instance one event is ran for profit and one for non-profit. Good question and many variables to answer about !!! There are also many different rules pertaining to each, again coordination most likely feels the way they run each of their events would bring the most players Tom
  12. Finders Keepers: First off I understand your frustration and I am very sorry about this situation Please understand the girl was talking to me while the seconds were ticking and not chit chatting about anything other than this very time in question, she was looking for confirmation and it was my call at the official time taken by the Owner of Fat Nancy's cell phone Again, your loss is not taken lightly and I do not wish to come across in a harsh sort of way: However to be in line with cooler and only 3 fish in it should be sort of taken for granted from rules stated. I had to DQ a team the season before last after less than 1 minute late, the team was quite upset as well, and again it is understood to be upset. Please keep this in mind: When: -Lugging heavy coolers of fish around -Chasing a clock -Finding parking areas -Looking for where to go with your cooler and the line All the above needs to be done by each and every team in these events, we all have to follow the same rules and we all have to find the line, if one of us has any hold-ups in any of these areas, the stage is set equal as possible for all I am sure my explanation may not sit well for you and again I apologize for "the girl" who said you were late, she was only following what she was told, and this was coming from this events coordination. For future reference if you ever want to call the owner of Fat Nancy's in future events for calibration of times from one clock to another please look them up and they will be happy to set the time from the network used. I am sure the owner of Fat Nancy's sincerely hopes you will choose to fish in his event in the future. Tom
  13. If you jump to page 2 you will get more info: Your key question about helping you catch more fish: IMO downspeed is the one factor that hurts more anglers than they realize The Moor unit and the Fish Hawk seem to be most popular: Just a few specifics off the top of my head on each: Fish Hawk: More expensive (average price $600.00) Digital head unit Less precise of a reading, bounces around a bit No coated cable Can get away with running braid on riggers More expensive replacement probe (average price $235.00) Upgraded last season Transducer installation needed Surface temp. http://www.fishhawkelectronics.com/ Moor Unit Average price $400.00 Use of a coated cable needed Dial type head unit, analog Very accurate reading Better availability No transducer Average price replacement probe $170.00 No surface temp. http://www.moorelectronics.com/fishing/fishing.html
  14. Due to volume we are excessively behind If you are looking for custom items or special rigging on tackle we will not have it to you by the Oswego or Sodus Pro/Am events. Our apologies: Tom

  16. There is 1 guard on duty each night, but we all know how that goes. As of 8 pm last night they heightened up security. Latest news is some boats were hit pretty hard losing much tackle and electronics, others rods/reels and terminal items Not Good............ While my stay in Canada at more than one port we need card-keys to even enter marinas, all fenced in. still doesn't protect against thieves who are going to get us if they tyry hard enough. Had a small tin boat operator about 15 years ago hit a few Marina's by boat and swipe outboards. Truly are thieves out there still today, we like to think we are safe in certain areas but never the case. Let's hope they get these dirtbags Tom
  17. Just heard boats are getting broken into at Wright's Landing, not many specifics at this time other than it's true. Tom

  19. Rockets look sweet and have been working on the North Shore, they fit into a Rhys head nicely and have a hole through the insert strip to pin the strip, they seem to be pretty durable with multiple fish on a slice. Also are porous to a degree for scenting. Tom
  20. Mark, Here are a few answers to your original question: - Ease of use - Speed tolerant - Literal endless choice of color schemes and combinations - Readily available - Much info "out there" about them - Proven track record for many years - Give off a broader influence in water, which can be seen or heard from further away .....and yes it is certainly the attractor/fly "combination" that does the trick. A few things to keep in mind: -Color presentations during sun or over cast -Better when targeting Kings below 50 ft most times (except late fall) -Stretch from trolling weight 8 to 12 ft in green water or when down deep -Stretch in clearer waters and later in day, or if in upper water column and/if bright out 12 to 25 ft even as far as 50 to 60 ft -Downspeed of 2.2 most generally -Leader length of fly (22" to 24") measured from head of fly to connection on attractor - Excel on long lines (wire divers and copper flatlines) don't be afraid to stretch out your wire diver leads (8 to 12 ft) An attractor/fly combo on wire divers and copper lines can be the most successful presentation in your spread on many days. The coppers' stealth added to your spread can add to your late day take of weary/worked Kings. An attractor/fly combination will represent one of several concepts: -A feeding Salmon slashing through a school of bait leaving a wounded follower behind for an easy meal -A school of bait -Bait and/or Prey/Predator HIH Tom
