  6. Dotted spinnies were so hot we went nuts lol First King taken on the Captain Valium Rig and certainly not the last, 4 that day alone with its introduction to Lady O The Crazy Biitch herself holding one in place Lonewolf bwo Jeremy Botting Even made them with extra large dots The Green/Green Dot was also hot for the Oswego boys, it accounted for many dead Kings Someone mentioned the blue dot, the season before it was part of the reason we won the 2008 Niagara Pro/Am This year the 2009 Niagara Pro/Am was taken down by Team Thrillseeker, I am sure I will be getting a phone call after this note but for those of you who watched the LO video of the 2009 Niagara Pro/Am I recall team Thrillseeker also taking a King on a certain dotted spinnie Shhhh............... heheheh And the season before our win (2007 Niagara Pro/Am) the Dalmation/Hammer was huge for the Candians who took the win: Dave Sullivan, Matt Santoro and crew, Dave said man, we had our 12 Kings by 9:30 am Dots Dots Dots, its all about dots on some days If I could only tell the rest of the dotted stories (don't want to be de-balled just yet) They truly are a staple !!!!!!!!!!!! Tom
  7. White Blade Green Dot and Chrome Blade Green Dot (both with double crush) were our hottest set-ups in the last month of the 09' season For a different point of view: 2008 sales, we sold around 1900 Spin Doctors ...best sellers were the same Green Dot and the rest of the green striped waffle/back colors ei. HammerTime, Innovator, Showtime, LiveWire (We sold around 50 doz. of these 6 alone) 2009 sales, we sold around 2700 Spin Doctors ...best seller was the Green Dot, the striped series was again hot, with other hot items being 42 Second, Gator and the Crazy Biitch rounding out the top sellers. The Green Dot was so hot we were often out and we ordered them 4 to 6 doz at a time We sold about 10 doz of The Gator and another 7 ro 8 doz each of the 42 Second and Crazy Biitch Spin Doctors out-sold all other attractors around 12-1 Tom
  8. It's all about Pro Staff/rep's/marketing ideas/locations targeted/distribution availability, etc. etc. I used many Hot Spot attractors from later 80's till mid 90's, they were 1 attractor we usually did not leave the dock without especially catering to our meat presentations Times change, some trends fade, new ideas and products fill the gaps We were re-vived somewhat with the re-introduction of metal type flashers used for another art when we started running them with flies in early 00's. That as well took a back seat when the use of the 8" ruddered Pro Trolls became commonplace. Spin Doctors were then offered in a multitude of color schemes and IMO (*talking eastern basin) outsold them all. Also many others that some anglers consider go-to rigs. These new flavors of Hot Spots are new from Hot Spot (to some), in Johns area they may be totally new. As Brian referenced these colors have already been established and even proven in our neck of the woods. I know I have all of them on my boat, He He He Odd sort of fact is each would all have their time probably anywhere, each out-fishing another possibly at any time. I am sure John has never really veered far from center when targeting Kings with his favorite attractors. I even recall a conversation 6 to 7 years ago with a certain rep named Malcome at a trade show quoting that he had a guy who could make his attractors catch Kings on his Hot Spots. Quite possibly he meant Mr. Foley. LOL Really all that matters is that they all are running A-TOM-MIK's behind them I heard John was selling his Howie's and will be back to runnnig A-TOM-MIK's soon Tom
  9. I took this boat for a test ride late last season and it was nicely done up, no back drop at the time and the owner quoted a few hundred bucks to finish it off not counting back drop, prolly 4 to 500 for that. She was clean, owner was a stickler on the price, wouldn't budge, and yes for a first time owner with a true inboard single screw it takes some getting use to, but not as bad as most people make it out to be, once you get some time under your belt its not that bad at all. Even more time under your belt and it gets easier. Sharp boat for sure, Tom

Aye, gonna mo'e the boat a little closer t' the fish if this pesky wind e'er dies a bit, Oswego has slowed in the harbor but the water in front the Salmon Ri'er has been producin' well, Cmon already with the wind mother nature still some season left t' get out on the big pond, refuse t' put the boat way yet with Kin's waitin' Tom Aye, me parrot concurs.
  19. UPDATE: Current tally NO COMMUNICATION PRO 21 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team votes OPEN COMMUNICATION PRO 0 votes NO COMMUNICATION AM 11 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team votes OPEN COMMUNICATION AM 1 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team vote Total votes 33 Update: About 97% of all recorded votes so far have went out of their way to type an E Mail or tell me in person their ultimate goal would be for ALL Pro/Am's to honor closed communication. I have tried to keep an open mind and keep my goal set for closing communication for Oswego only (for now). However one rather soft spoken phone call (from a past very long-time Oswego coordinator and participant to many Pro/Am's) noted how it would be nice to close communication for the "East end Cup" which would include Oswego and Sodus. I just wanted to note one thing: This coordinator was behind the Oswego Pro/Am since inception, working behind the scenes and also keeping a team together for around 10 years. When the rules were unified he never had even a word to say, after all his commitment and dedication he was simply told "This is how it is going to be", pretty sad in my eyes how this individual was treated, why would new coordination over-look the input this person had portrayed through his dedication. Pretty sad to me. I will keep the ball rolling. Tom
  20. UPDATE: Current tally: NO COMMUNICATION PRO 19 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team votes OPEN COMMUNICATION PRO 0 votes NO COMMUNICATION AM 8 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team votes OPEN COMMUNICATION AM 1 current or past Oswego Pro/Am team vote Total votes 28 We now have 4 total Pro/Am sponsors, (includes A-TOM-MIK) all of which have played an impact concerning sponsorship (and at more than 1 level, 3 entities include sponsorship as well as involvement), who are willing to "do what it takes" to close communication for Oswego. Progress continues: Moving rather fast at present and I am sure it will slow, but slow steady pressure to lead us to our goal is what we have in mind to close communication for Oswego Tom
  21. (: My daughter is a trooper, Steph whimpered a little (:
  22. This works, had to do it to my daughter when she was about 8 with a small lead jighead while rock bass fishing, and also to my g/f Steph while perch fishing with a bait hook a few years ago, both continued their day fishing with just some soreness the following day. It works Tom
  23. Ray, your vote has been recorded TYVM Tom
  24. Update: NOTE: Concerning E Mails and the YEA or NEY vote for your team For starters I try my best to be an honest sole, I am only counting votes for past or present Oswego Pro/Am teams, and also your team will only get 1 vote for your team, I appreciate the fact that many teams are very serious and are really for closing communication (you are preaching to the quire) but I'm not giving extra votes if you have each team member E Mail me, lol however I applaud your interest. If a team that frequents the Oswego Pro/Am is for Open Communication I will not argue with you to change your mind, if that is your choice I do not need a reason given, I will respect your teams decision 100% and leave it at that, I assure you Current tally from past and present Oswego Pro/Am teams Open Communication Pro 0 Closed Communication Pro 15 Open Communication Am 1 Closed Communication Am 6 Total votes 22 I figure I have apporx. 100 teams to contact by some means while my drive continues, (Oswego teams past and present) we are only nearing the 25% percentile (after only a couple days) I have received about 10 E mails concerning my drive to close communication for Oswego. One point I find rather valid and (I feel the need to share) is how a few teams have fished the Oswego Pro/Am for repeated years till our rules were unified, then their interest tapered off and they just quit fishing Oswego. One team of which (from a valid repeated top contender no less, Bob Jordan/Jay Reed) noted how his team was not interested in the "Over-all". Keeping in mind my own personal interest (I love the over-all chase) and the fact that in the bigger picture a higher majority does not, why must the rules be unified? I do not mean to come across as hypocritical, and I also understand we will never satisfy everybody, but Bob Jordan has a very valid point in my eyes, why unify the rules to satisfy a minority? If the Oswego Pro/Am can entice more teams without unification then why stay unified? Why must we (Oswego) take the hit at the expense of losing teams................... Tom
