  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):5/5 Time on Water:6-11 Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 2-3 Surface Temp:45-46 Location:Shipbuilders LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 13 Total Boated: 10 Species Breakdown: 9 kings 1 laker Hot Lure: many Trolling Speed: 2.5-2.9 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 80-180 Lure Depth: 40-70 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Began the morning in 60 straight out on a north troll had some teenagers in the 80-100 range. Picked a few more in that depth range until about 9 when we tracked north looking for bigger fish. Pulled a few more teenagers and two good ones at 20 and 22lbs in the 150-170 range. No hot lures spoons on riggers at 40 50 70 took kings. Wire at 100 with paddles took some kings as well as ten color and 300 copper. Great first trip of the year...back out tommorrow. 2. It always washes in on the east pierhead. With a bigger boat you need to stay midchannel and to the west pierhead, but you wouldn't see anything less than 6' by Labor Day... that's a big concern if there's no more than 4' in those areas right now.
  3. I have not been down to the pierheads this season, but with the boat going in this weekend, I wanted to hear a report on the channel depth and situation. Heard rumors that it is very washed in.
  4. Great opportunity for someone to step into a super clean turn key boat with plenty of room and power. Mark has this boat completely updated and ready to go. It is a tournament tested machine, it will be a shame to see it go, but look forward to fishing on the bigger and better on the way! Mark and his team have been fishing this lake for 30+ years, so you can fully trust that he knows how to rig and maintain a boat.

    Stereo

My brother installs many marine stereo systems in Charleston, SC as part of his marine services business. He has settled in on JBL speakers as the best sound and most durable units for the money. We installed 4- 6" JBL recessed speakers on my boat this past summer and I matched them up with a Clarion CMD-6 head unit. The marine units are going to be more moisture resistant and more tolerant of pounding on the water than a car unit and of course the speakers go without saying. Keep in mind that no matter what, no marine speaker is waterproof, they are water resistant and will tolerate a lot but a steady stream of hose water on them is not advised.
  6. My Grady Sailfish with I/O's is setup the same way...likely to be able to isolate the bilge under the engine compartment from a potential fuel spill in the foward compartment.
  7. Additional info per requests: Monochrome 320 x 240 resolution Overall unit is 6 1/2" x 7" x 3" Display is 6" diagonal, 4.25" x 3.5" Antenna is a Raystar 120
  8. Everything is completely removed from the boat and available now. Great unit, I'm just moving to a combo unit to have a fishfinder backup.
  9. Works great, comes with the Navionics Card (Pretty certain it's a coastal card), antenna, surface mounting bracket and owners manual. The internal battery was replaced by Raymarine in August 2010. I will be taking everything off the boat this weekend and it will be available to anyone interested. Asking $200.

They're still there, screen looked really good even at that time of the day.
  11. Officially it was 41-15 straight from Bob... awesome fish...
  12. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: UpGrady ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9/2 Time on Water: 6am-1pm Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 13 Total Boated:11 Species Breakdown: 4 Kings, 7 Browns Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 60-110' Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Spent most of the morning in 60-70 fow off the bay, screen was good, temp was around 60 deg at 55'. riggers with glow NK28's at 55 and 62' took the browns and divers at 110 and 130 with green mtn dew/hammer and green/hammer spinnies took the kings. All of the browns were 5-7lb males, 3 kings were all about 18lb males.
  13. The lake upwelled Wednesday to Thursday. Contrary to some reports it was not a total upwelling, the surface remained in the mid 70's nearshore all the way out, but the cold water made it up very close to the surface nearshore. Friday afternoon- I saw that the surface was warm still, so I did not want to overrun fish, so I setup in 130fow on north troll, temps were 30-50' down, so very reasonable fish catching water, We picked a steelie in 160', a skipper in about 220', but the screens were not great, so we continued north and ended up mainly working around 500' where we pulled a nice king about 21lbs, a brown another big steelie and a few other bites. Temps were 50-80' down, fish were in that region, bait was everywhere, so we knew where to go on Saturday. Saturday- we setup in about 450' on a north troll and worked from there out to 600'. Action was very sporadic, generally when we were marking fish in the 50-65' range they were going, if we did not mark fish and only bait the rods were not moving, so the action was sporadic but quick when you ran across hungry schools. so as it worked out about every half hour you would get 2-3 quick bites... so when all was said and done, we fished from 6:30-3:30 and probably went 12-25, a bunch of skippies and small steelies in the 2-3lb range, had a 24lb king and about a 15lb king. Sunday- did the same as Saturday, fish were slightly deeper 50-75' down and action was definitely more consolidated. I think we had abetter idea of what to expect, so we did not waste as much time rallying around waypoints and we ended up with a better day than Saturday. We fished from 6:30-1pm and probably went about 20-30, we really had a pile of skippies and small steelies but ended up with three nice 5-8lb steelies, a pair of 12lb kings and 21lb king with the mix. Our best action ended up being in over 600' from about 10:30-12:30 as the storms were building to the south and west of us, we had one 15 minute time period that cleared all the rods for us with fish on that started the action out there. Riggers were actually best for us nominally at 50' and 70' with sliders. Mainlines took most fish but sliders took a few, 42 second , green NBK's, Black gold laser spooks and glow clowns. Wire divers with paddles took some fish each day from 180-230', a wire diver with a steelie dan stinger at 100' took a nice king and some steelhead each day and the ten color took a few fish with random spoons during the course of each day.

Action was sporadic, if one rod went you ended up getting a couple in the area and you needed to move onto the next area... There were alot of skippies out there and small steelies to weed thru but all days we ended up boating a few mature kings, a few teenagers and some decent steelies up to 13lbs each day. Action was 50-75' down on riggers, mainlines and sliders, 10 color cores, 180-210' divers with paddles and 100' divers with spoons. Bait was everywhere as well as fish, needed to fish the screen, fish were showing up 50-70', bait was gernerally 50 to 100' plus
  15. I would expect it after two days of Northeast... Water temp of Rochester being reported tonight is 48, so that is one mile out and 30' down. The inside water will be ice cold near or at the surface, need to get out to where the surface is at least back into the mid 60's and mid 50's are at least 30' down, then start a north troll from that point... will probably be starting in at least 150fow maybe as deep as 250 just depends upon how big of an upwelling occured. Good luck!
  16. Chris, So sorry to hear about this... and the injuries are fixable, it could've been so much worse... hang in there!
  17. Now with further description of the symptoms you are seeing, your internal battery is shot. These units eat them up within 3 years time. I had the exact symptoms you are seeing last summer and I sent it in. Good luck, because it took me 6 weeks of constant calling to get it back and the flat rate of at least $150 to replace it.
  18. Chris, Nice not running for a half hour too wasn't it?
  19. Kevin, Thx for stopping over as well, nice to meet new people. I agree, I was perfectly happy being home today instead of battling my favorite wind direction!
  20. Frank, Family day today on the beach...no fishin' hope you made it out. Foster, Lars will not be up for the derby this year, he will be up the first weekend in August though.
  21. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: UpGrady ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 7/22 Time on Water: 6am-11am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: IBay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: approx 25 Total Boated: approx 15 Species Breakdown: Kings, steelies, coho Hot Lure: NK28 Green NBK, Black/Gold lazer spook, green spinnie/hammer, stinger dirty white boy Trolling Speed: 2.5-3 Down Speed: 2.5-3 Boat Depth: 110-250' Lure Depth: 60-80' riggers and sliders, 180'/220' wire divers ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Inside water from 110-120' was loaded with bait and fish early, mostly skippies biting, hooked a couple decent fish in there but not exactly what we were looking for, so we headed north about 8:30 and found a better class of fish in 210-240 fow for the remainder of the morning. Ended up with a few 4-5lb kings, a few steelhead, 2 nice coho (one about 11lbs) and one decent king about 17lbs. Currents were a bit tricky to find speed, north troll and a wnw were about the best for us. Temps vaired some but nominally about 48 deg at 80' and 58 degrees at 65'. Tons of bait in the 140-170' region and scattered schools elsewhere. 200+' many fish on the screen. Great day!
