  1. Rob, Nice Report. Friday eve I had my 7 year old out. We found good fish in 140-160 fow. We were on some teen kings. A little too much for him to handle. He almost donated a rod to the lake! Sat am I went to the same way points and the fish were gone. Ended up in 90-100 with a mix bag of small kings and some good size lakers. Lou
  2. Rob. When I was heading and saw all those boats in front I figured you did well. We started in tight and trolled east of the creek. We did a few browns in close then tried our luck out deeper. Except for a dink king not much going on. Glad to hear you did well. Lou [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. We are looking for an observer for the Wilson Invitational this Saturday. Our observer backed out at the last minute. If interested, please contact myself via pm or Jerry Snyder 261-4929 for further details. Thanks in advanced Lou
  4. Rob, awesome pics. from the look on his face you can tell he is way into it. I worry my kids will lose interest as they get older. Hopefully we will have many more pics like those to share. Lou
  5. For whatever its worth I had Walker boards as well( not sure if the same as you currently have) anyway, I had big issues with them. I bought the otters and I must say I love them. We do have some issues with the releases sliding down, but as Rick said, use power pro line. I have used the power pro on Jax's boat and it works well. Call Big Jon, they have blemished boards for sale at a lower price than retail from time to time. Other than the color being off, they are perfectly functional. Hope this helps. Lou

So what better way to give their mother a break: take them fishing on Mothers Day! Since Saturday had produced good numbers of fish and the lake forecast was perfect for 2 young ones, we decided to give it a go(It was actually my wife's idea ) I knew I was in trouble when my oldest was up at 5:20am. asking "is it time to go yet?" So the 3 of us (and our neighbor) headed out to Sandy Creek. As soon as we left the creek(as we did Saturday) we headed East and immediatly set up. Within the first 10 minutes "Fish on". My oldest grabbed the rod and after a quick lesson, he was on his own. As the fish started taking line, the expression on his face was priceless. (both of them had been fishing with me before, but this was the first time they were able to handle the rods by themselves) Within the first hour the boys had their share of the rods, boating 9 of the 13 fish we caught, including 3 doubles. The 2 biggest fish of the day were 10 lbs. Before I knew it, I had a couple of miniature pro's on board. Yelling "fish on" when the rods fired and yelling "grab the net" when the fish were getting close to the boat. By 9:45 they were spent. We pulled up and headed in. When we got home my wife said: Happy Fathers Day!" What a great day on the lake. I am sure my boys will sleep good tonight. Lou
  7. Nice pic of you holding that fish in such a "unique" way, who took that photo anyway?!!!!
  8. Jack, There can be good fishing in either direction Look for the colored water. Also stay close to shore and keep an eye out for any temperature breaks. The slightest difference in temp could be everything. I hope this helps Good Luck! Lou
  9. Thanks Brian. You too. I was out on Sunday AM and lost another major. Fishing in close as well (90-150) had a nice rip on the wire( again) came to the surface, rolled then went right to the bottom. My father in law could not move it... He struggled for a few minutes then it spit the hook...At least I did not lose the rig!!! To top it off I lost my cell phone that morning.... I am taking a break at least till Monday AM.. May do a trip with Jeremy. Talk to ya soon. Lou
  10. Gene Congrats on your son catching the 20lber. Hopefully you will be able to pass along your passion to him. It is a great feeling when your kids ask you to go fishing. Lou GTN
  11. Brian, Thanks for the effort I was so far away from you I could not get over there. No big deal.. I was more interested in the size of fish that was attached to it... It made a hell of a run before it broke off. How have you been? Fishing been good at that neck of the woods? I have been west the past week. Doing ok, nothing crazy but some decent fish.. Lou

  16. Tank. Nice fish. Too bad you had to end early. I know I am "a day late and a dollar short" but We were near you when we saw you being towed in. We certainly would have helped you out if you were in a pinch. I am sure a call on the radio would have brought multiple boats to help out. Hopefully you can get back in the water soon. 17. Chris, It was a fun night, even though no majors. We kept busy though. I will be in Fair Haven this weekend. If you get out, give a call. I would like to hear how you did. thanks Lou

Anything glow was productive. The wires 270/400 out were also good. Silver hammer fly and Aqua blue glow Siggs were also taking fish.(JAX gotta love the blue!). The biggest fish of the night was only a 13 lb king. But As I heard someone once say: " I never meet a fish I did not like" Lou ====================

  20. Rob, Nice job. That may be tough to beat.......
  21. Decided to fish the "Flemish Cap" tonight. Headed out at 5:30pm and started in 440ft. Fish started in 460 with the best results in 480ft. Riggers stacked between 60-100.. Wire out 290-310. Ended up 7 for 11: 4 kings(17,14,2 dinks) 3 steelies(all around 8 lbs) 2 kings came of the wire; powder blue Hypnotist siggs 310ft out. Lost a major on the same rig/depth. Had one double and while rigging a cheater, a nice steelie ripped the main line that was 10ft down 5 ft back! A lot of fish out there with good marks. Good temp from 65-95ft. Lime Tuxedo, froggy green glow took the steelies while chicken wing, yellow die hard on the riggers took kings. All in all a pretty decent night. GTN
  22. Nice Fish Rob! It is good to see the fish are finally cooperating.
  23. YT, I tell you, sometimes it's better to throw out all the rhyme or reason to why we select specific lures. The kids seem to do pretty good without having all the "knowledge" to cloud their judgment.. It was an awesome night for them. I just hope that it sticks with them for many years to come. Lou
  24. With the combination of nice weather(finally)and the inspiration of the father that is on a journey to fish 50 states in 50 days, I decided to take the wife and kids for a evening fishing trip. By the way: Congrats to JAX on his very productive day with the above mentioned father and son team. They boated 10 fish and gave them a trip of a lifetime. For more information check out http://www.fish5050.com click on the "our journey" link and click New York Sate. JAX, you did an awesome job creating a lasting memory for them. Way to go!!! We set lines at 7pm in 180ft. I let the boys pick their favorite lures. The oldest(6) picked a "bloody nose". Set that down 92 and the youngest(5) picked "chicken wing" set down 102. As I was setting the chicken wing down, the "bloody nose" went: Fish On! After getting the kids set to reel, we lost it After a little while the kids wanted to change lures. This time it was yellow die hard and a nbk. A few minutes later, my wife says" Lou, what is going on with that one?" Now I have heard many words to describe a fish on, but I have to admit, that is the first time I ever heard those words. Again, I got the kids in the chairs. They both took turns reeling the fish in. As we were about to net it, it spit the hook. Within in few minutes, the wire went (320 out spinny/siggs) There was no way the kids could handle this. So this time it was the wife's turn. After a good 15 minute fight she pulled in a nice 18 lb king. The kids were excited to catch one of their own, so we changed lures again. This time they picked froggy green glow and another nbk. We ended up pulling fish off both of the spoons. My boys each got a turn reeling in a 14lb and a dink about 3 lbs. As the sun set, my wife and kids were both excited and tired. What a great way to spend an evening. As we were driving home my youngest son said " Dad, I really had fun fishing in your boat, can we do it tomorrow night?!" There is no paid charter in the world that can come close to an experience like this. This truly is what fishing is all about. Fish ended up coming between 185-210 ft. Good temps down 95-105. Lou GTN
  25. Jim Nice to see you report. I was out on Sunday as well. Slow going at Sandy, boated a 15lb king and a 15 lb Laker. Lost 2 other nice fish as well. A lot of lakers over here. The kings were a little scattered. The bright sun did not help. I was off the water by 11:00... I was going to call you, but left your number at home. ER mail it to me when you get a chance. Lou
