thanks vince, hey please dont think im complaining but for the last 3 years weve had our visions of getting one of the 2 monsters on the property. ! has about a 30 in spread and should exceed 170,the other ive watched for 5 years (whitie) pure white rack from year 1(4 pt) ,2 years ago i missfire in the rain and trim his brisket fur.. the landowners son saw him in bow season (both of them) still pure white thick ,massive palmation, with all sorta junk growing from his main beams, last year i saw whitie from afar with baseball bat sized bases,,almost worth the 10 drive to look for sheads.........hr

Just got back did pass on many nice bucks 1st at a whoppin 6 yds then the 2nd comes in to 9 yds love that doe pee.. Ive got some good video maybe i can have my bro in law clean and condense it for a post.. well as always this land was loaded specially thisyear with 99.999% of the crops gone. saw many 2.5 120 130 class including this one in the first hour. Also saw 1 big boy 180 yds south of me running a doe back into "his woods" after rounding her up i knew he was in love for the day...so im starting to comprise in my mind what will i do this year. With normal people getting down at 11,12for a break ,I (not normal) sat all day well till 3ish........ The switch flipped at 10 am and all the deer took their siesta....well the 40% chance of rain worked against me and the 20 mph winds made my tiny treestand ,less comfy then sitting at home. bout 230 or so a small 4 pt showed up in the rain and lifted my hopes of movement. He bumped a doe and the circle started till the doe froze and the 4 pt walked away like musky from a salad... I picked up a antler at 130 yds but the scope was too wet and my thoughts of water intrusion of my muzzy powder might be a flashback of 2 years ago. The only dry thing on me was the inside of my glove cuff so i sheilded the scope and used my last dry spot. The rack looked small with long beams and then he froze at 120 yds ,ive seen statues move more than he did for 45 min,(in more rain) he still looked real wimpy so i just waited as he did.............they he turns my way and my trigger finger got twitchy, then he lays down and dissapears I kept scaning with nutin in site when i picked horn movement where he bedded down 20 min after loosing him. his head (tips of antlers) keept scanning then froze my way im shure he saw a big blob swaying in the wind. I lifted the gun from under the protection of my gut er i mean coat as he stands to get a clear view of me the front view of his horns ,foggy rain slattered scope his head was turned and i had a broadside perfect 120 yd (ranged it later) with no rest .......................... so with 1/2 lung of stored air i hold and squeeze.....he took off on a dead run my way till i lost site of him 60 yds away behind some trees still not 100% shure of a offhand shot ............the doe he wa with continued out into site and at the same time i saw the top of some brush rattle that took a hit at full run from MY deer.. After sliding down the wet oak branches i reloaded at went to the bush .........YEA its always good to see the hornes sticking 2 ft outa the brush........so after the 364 day wait it was over, a bitter sweet situation with good results .. My friends son took a 205 lb dressed 135 in 10 point 2 hrs later 200 yds away......And my friend passed on everything as he was looking for the 2 - 170 class bucks that live "On The Farm" .......Mine will score 145 to 150 even with short tines the 26 and 27 in main beams with 21 in inside spread adds points fast...it was a main 10 pt with 2 extra 1.5 in hornes growing straight forward from his basses to me its a 12 pt and thats my story..............ive got to load some pic so ill post below

Well another one bites the dust in Indiana. This buck is one of the decent bucks from the farm ill be hunting sat. Ive got vidio and picks from the last 2 years he was at 10 yds from me last year but not ready yet. Normally Daren wont shoot the little ones like this but it was from the stand formally occupied by his deceased uncle "Dennis",so the Dennis stand "bow tradition lives on". The meat was donated to the food bank ,and the rack will hang in the farm for years "storys " to be passed on. The lastest count is 4 "shooters" with many of this size running the doe.. The farm has been in the family over 100 yrs with great respect to the natural inhabatants there. My friend "Don" who is considering hunting his farm for the first time sence the loss of his brother will be the highlight of our trip ,as he has been batteling lung cancer for the last 5 years. Every year we never know if its our last year hunting as our friend hangs on we only hope his son will consider letting us continue "our Indiana Tradition" tho it will never be the same......... This year "Don " has mentioned he has NEVER seen so many nice bucks in his life in the surrounding area, so if anyone else is heading out there this year get ready for the hunt of your life.......It may be your last..........we never know what tomorrow brings..ok i lost the pic have to repost

Once again has been youve showed you lack of experience ,I dont care if ya been fishing a hundred years , "Always learning or never learning" applies to us all some choose the first half ,some the second.. When you get good enuf to jump in a derby then youll realize every minute wasted could be another fish, through speed issues (trolling to fast or slow) turning to get back to a spot currents.. lets say its a west troll bite ya just passed over some fish on a 90 heading ya got 2 - 600 ft copper out, with the elect reels in 60 sec you could saftly make the 180 change to 270 heading 4 to 5 min faster, toss in a west to east current the extra 5 min could cost ya 7 or 8 min due to sog loss due to down currents . so 2 long turns 16 min lost per hour or 3 or 4 with elect.so a 12 min per hour lost time x 8 hr derby =96 min of dead or down time for one day or about 1 and a half hours of dead time for the "Reo-linda folks....like bill said the difference could be in the thousands at the end of the derby. Plus ask Big Dave what happens when ya use up yer good parts,,,Clank,clank,clank.. And try to explaine to the airport security girl why you wore out only your right elbow

thanks for the story too

Ok imstill waiting to tell my story,,these are fresh last night ,,um for the new guys really big bucks will normaly lay near the open(large field ) on one side and a good escape route on the other (sorta open woods)) his bed is behind this wood pile where he can see anything 1000 yds away this spot is 100 yds where a 23 pt was trailed cam late aug this is a red oak some groves are 1/2 in deep not just bark but in the wood ,between goose hunters, wood cutters ,loggers and field clearing 300 yds away ,and only visiting o rare ocasions i ant had the perfect day yet for a regular hunt (no interuptions) so .I can assure you if i get this buck it will have a crappy ending (ill crap my pants)

When new bows came out the traditionals called the Letoff feature guys wooses, (not real bow hunters),next muzzle loader shooters, "may as well call it a rifle" from the shotgunners, when "3 wheelers" came out us dirtbikers called them trycycles for guys who couldnt ride "2 wheels".. Illbet the camera buffs popooed the "new cameras" with auto features when they came out. back a little further "when muskybob was a boy"" the Horseriders looked at the automobile with a bent nose"" (Bobs still is). Im shure the traditional "math the old way " teachers shook their fist at the caculator.. weve gone from pen and paper to this new fangled age of E-mail,texting, sexing (just me wanna see) , The way i see it is the human body is a machine capibable of performing a task a given amount times before wearing out, tennis elbow,ect...so if billy wants to save his "Right arm" for other things then good for him.........(just be careful no one reverses polarity over nitgh in a derby).
