  1. i had 2 small coons last night trying to get some berries or something from a shrub like tree 4 ft tall they would take turns sneaking out to the end of the branch. when they both got there the outside one would fall and run back up to be the pusher and down would go the other one they did this for 1/2 hr before hittin thecorn.. this morn i had a squirrel run across my hat then he found a mushroom and sat in the tree 10 yds away justa munching.....................oh yea no stinking deer i might have to leave the boom box home next time,,

  6. Rule number 1 : NEVER draw back on a buck ...........yer not looking for.........It will happen..Ive seen many 120 class bucks grow to 150 then shrink down to a 100 after its down.. now ya gotta train that trigger finger for gun season... Bottom line ya got yer meat and saved 300.00 (mount) ..so take the wife shoppin and give her the money....................WAIT ya still might get the big one with the gun ,tell her yer broke and she will have to shop alone....Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice shot ..
  7. Hey no pics?? The first deer or buck stories rekindle many of our "first deer" memories. Tell that brat to stay outa your stand,if he ant gonna post pics of his success, maybe you can edge him on to at least tell his side of the story.. thanks for the memories, and the post..
  8. Can't say ive ever met Sam ,but it sounds like he lived a good life and devoted much time to the care of others. A rare breed in the "New World" we live in. May we all try to fill his shoes maybe not to the full extent of helping many with a large event but through our daily interactions with a needy family ,friend,or stranger. So to Sams Family and friends maybe his little "mustard seed" will blossem to a magnificent plant spread throughout the fishing community and the rest of our land. Ray K.
  9. Hey " The Pull My Finger Party" sounds great what a great way to get rid of all that hot air. I tried to get in but found out it was for non smokers only (no open flames), FAWHOOM . I was sent down the hall to the " BUFFY PARTY" ,got to meet Bill, Spitzer, Massa, monaca was there too ,,then Polisi showed up and cleared the room ,poor mr polisi.
  10. Tank way to shoot when the pressure is on, we all can wack a target but things dont always go as planned when the pressure is on . but comonive got a pic of your deer eating outa my hand at 1 yd so here is yer deer 20 sec before your 17" shot,,a beauty taken the other day in Campbell by a friend of a friend. And a pic of what i hope to bring home from indiana in a few weeks..... I feel your time pain busy, busy i have 3 heating jobs going at once with a line waiting, just leased 150 acrs in odessa and have not even had the chance to do a walkabout yet..
  11. Chad ,ya ant been married 3 weeks and your sucsess rate has droped to "O" ... Glad ya had a great time, hope the wife did too!!(honeymoon) Things went well while you wer out tho Hank had me sayin 100 hail marys for one of my out of line post my knees and knuckles are still sore. dont be shy about some pics of your trip im shure ya got some good ones from your "cruise"...Its always nice to see otherparts of the world just remember "fAMILY SAFE" not how to start a family... Welcome home kid.(opps and wiffy too)
  12. The problem with "numbnuts" it could be named after all of us after loosing the big one(small ones never get away),or hitting the 27 line with the beverages at the dock, running west with the winning team pulling in from the east!! doing circles with double copper out, Ok the list could go on for 2 pages you get the drill. I guess if you know Rod the true "numbnuts" would be a bare hook with no HAIR (oh im good) or it could be all silver to represent a "Chrome Dome" Hey times are a changing we need removable skirts , use a larger dia head so it will slip off the knot end for quick change, maybe glue the skirts split the head and secure to the line wirt a "O" rong or piece of silicone tubing some redesigning of the head will be needed Ill come up with the idea you just send me some to test run.. "Kwick Change Flys " when seconds count...Tell ya what ya gotta think outa the box imagine having 100 flys in a flat box ,,nohook tangles, if you cant make this work on your own call me and ill help (If you pay my pro/am fees )....no more charters with 100 flys dangling in their eyes..just a "quick change" drying storage line....you could even make little clothes pins for folks like musky who enjoy doing hosework on their boats..
  13. Every little bit helps when the spawners run ,and i dont know how many if any attached to the 100's of trout ive seen in the past attached to trout jumping over stafford road dam would have the possability of spawning.. but the cost and effort to install this has to be well worth it....Thanks for the info.
  14. if these have the fur collar sticking out the top ill take 1 ,(both feet will fit in a 12)
  15. A few years back I met another great member of this site ...............................And Rod too! rod ,(fishtails) rick(dieselhp) and myself made a attempt to enter a striped bass derby in New Jersy.. In the parking lot i notice the squatting wheels under the weight of rods little boat ,of course only having 20lb pressure in a 65lb wheel could of been part of the cause. then comes the launch and the excitement of a kid after a 7 hr drive to disnyworld im ready to go. After raking 10 barrels of leaves from the back of the boat I discover their was two engins under them, course only one worked.. so off to my van for tools to make repairs (i missed that part in the invite),in 20 min we determin the problem a "good mech" missed in 2 attempts to repair. So it was off to the flats ,with a few more underway repairs to the radar tower ,things got a little "testy" as i discovered a FEW issues but a few brewskies ,ok a few more , ok sh*t faced hammered , we worked out the issues in the Hotel after a testing day ,,, Fast forward (oh the stripper derby was a blowoff) to the pro ams and more good times are had with my buddy who derives his name from the area behind the ANAL fin. plugs, towels, and a couple more brews have been shared over the years ,So I bash with pride as only a friend would do.. Happy BIRFDAY Rod ,Hope all is well and you enjoy your day despite my post. So to a guy who derives his board name from the anal end of a fish ,I look forward to your firm handshake this comming spring or in the keys !!
  16. i hope not mines been broken for 7 years.....now the trim limit is important for safe operating range of outdrive (if yer not paying attention). But as long as ya dont drive down the lake shooting a 30 ft roostertail yer probly trimming the moter ok. The limit protects the "knuckles" or "U" joints from turning in a overtrim position, excessive (High) trim puts terrable pressure on them and your "carrier" bearing and im shure everything on both ends of yer shaft too. Having a basic understanding of why you trim other than shallow water operation and "YOUR" boats handling ,for load and conditions is {in my opinion) more important than a needle in front of you on a guage...............look under the dash a 3 prong connector to your guage might be loose..
  17. Andy itshard to belive .......a 6ft ,300lb plus hunter still hunting a 15 lb bird...nexy time ya get close just hollar BOO!! when they pass out run up and wac em in the head with a dry cow chip.. I saw some good stuff at bass pro the other day but at a glance so I dont know what the "stopping ability" was. little confused on a 33in arrow with a 1.5 in broad head passes through a turkey and they get away>]\.... Have ya ever tried to hit the vitals area? Ive read thats a good place to shoot them.. maybe that old back up bowcranked down to 50 lbs and a trip to dicks for some cheep arrows might be yer best salution ...or ya could tie some 50 lb power pro to the tip a oh 30 yds, tie theother end to yer ankle t.hat should cut down on lost arrows.. HHmm whats that old saying "Its hard to soar with the eagles when yer running with the turkeys"
  18. Thank you for that post Vic...
  19. well after 41 yrs of bigger fletch is better , I bought some 2in fletched arrows last night at the bass pro special night ...... I'll be the first and not the last to admit i ant no bow shooting pro guy tho im not 1/2 bad up to 40 yds....I shot several times this morning in my indoor range (basement) ...shooting at a 1/4 in black dot the arrows were consentent 1/4 to 1/2 in left of dot so the arrows are responding to "my" bow twist (my fault) ill get to the great outdoors tonight to give em the full range shots and check flight pattern..as we know "confedence " is the key to the start of a good shot with any weapon from golf clubs to a cannon... so maybe ill pull the cannon from my tree stand and try just the bow...... tho with some of the misses ive made over the years maybe a golf club would be a better choice...
  20. I saw 4 cars with "I Am A Stream Fisherman" bumper sticker get ticketed at the dollar store...
  21. Hey glen ya saved that little voice on my left ((buffy) sholder from winning.. might still hit seneca for a fresh fish dinner ,but the big pond may be just a thought for now ..if it wernt for the stinking wind id chase a few walleye on erie...Its a bummer to see you dont qualify for next years cup or are able to fish the loc,s or pro ams,,,shoot ya might better keep the boat home and rent out camp .................ya know id be willing to help ya save some gas towing that tub, tell ya what ill give ya 5,000.00 for the boat and all gear , I know ,I know its a generous offer but you know me always willing to help a fellow fisherman outa a jam ......tell ya what if you tow it down to the Keys for me this winter ill toss in another 500 bucks ,AND take ya out fishing for a couple days... Hava good winter sharpen them hooks and remove the barbes to give the rest of a a chance.. PS ignore that little beeping sound on your boat next year it is not a tracking devise..
