ray koziatek replied to muskybob's topic in Open Lake Discussion
hey bud ,, sorry to hear (see) the news looks like their is a whole bunch of us thats got yer back and some prayers for the family too .. geese im kinda at a lost as what to say and you know that dont happen often..I know prayers and concerns for all involved is the proper thing to say and do ,,,but sometimes a small smile when times are down is some good medicine sooooo let me check my notes : hmm put pole in water with lure ,let out 130 ft ,down speed 2.5, green, reel in................opps thats the pad you left in my boat..; PREPARE TO RAM.. nope thats muskies dock approaching call... Well im gonna have to do some lookin for mine till i find it May God Help you find Peace in such times... Ray K. -
almost thought it was 200 rpm per inch ....i would drop to a 17 less torque on drive system, pefromance will be hudge if your running heavy ,,so you should gain 400 rpms and speed will be the same as 19 in overall at max rpms but less on the rpm scale your used to and go with alum youll get some flexing and loss of performance but only noticable if your running laps on a timed course..and ya might save your drive system some major shock if ya hit a object with alum (they break) and hopefully not yer gearsystem.

with a blow like this its tuff to call "settle down time" if it has enuf south to it it could be cold right to shore...too much west and the east end will warm a lot... I think its gonna stir the wholelake so bad that the "normal" wind deriction patterns arnt gonna be too accurate as to temps .. I would expect some major down currents for 3 or 4 days as the lake settles out ,throw in some east wind from the hurricane if the high pressure dont keep it at bay(pushing it east) and the lake should look like a swirling toilet for a week.. watch the modis sites http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/ ... 3.250m.jpg

come on andy no tipping cows? cow pie fights? green apple fights? jumpin in bales of hay well the accedentaly broken ones? sitting in the loft with a 22 waiting for the rats to come to the feed trougth? picking up snapping turtles that coulda took your finger off in one wrong move? remember when black snakes were common? running through the corn and slicing the lense of your eye and it stung for a week ? utter balm was and probly still is the first aid cream for everything. picking 4000 bales without the auto loader outrunning a 800 lb bull to the fence and diving under the barbed wire at a full run. getting treed by the same 800 lber and waiting him out.. the "outdoor channel" was fliping stones or rollin dead logs to see what was under them.. i can still putter a stone after 6 skips... chasing flying grasshoppers for fish bait and tossin your shirt on em to "get it".. zebco 33 was the top of the line reel.

ray koziatek replied to Shellback's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
3.5 years and ya forgot everything!!!!!!! well they still like green, pro ams,hammers,white.............green dolph, white /wgreen dots ,white, mtn dew/chartruse edge ...................pwr pro as you know is 100% ok 50 lb min/65 max........dypsy leader ya might bumpup to 40 lb due to we started growing em bigger after you pulled outa town..or it could be that Big dave has been recovering and not getting into the sardines to him (30 lb kings to the rest of us) now he wants to crossdress the fish like him to look like sunfish? so rinse the brackash water, test the drags, and get ready for some freshwater ...GREAT lakes fishing......PS> welcome home............... -

Next to the furnace should be a on off switch you know the rest.................

pull em out with yer teeth......just sorta start where the bones are with knife and sorta feel as you follow the angle of the bones then cut the backside (of the bones) at same angle....you sorta slice out the 1/2 in wide section ..I always cut the lateral line first so ya sorta end up with a long strip (narrow) of back meat with the rest of fillet in tack,, kinda have a couple of pieces when done but the extra work will make for great tasting pieces.................or ya can cook first starting with bone side down then flipping and finish with the bones up and remove with pliers, wifes tweezers, or sorta use a knife edge and yer thumb to grip and remove after cooking...this will give you a better looking finished cooked product but its a pain...in the
