if ya got the load issue solved then a weld might do the trick, just in case you havent already those roller bunks will work their way down again in time so a through bolt or two might be a better long term effort on the trailer.(or tack weld) have a good alum welder guy look at it as all metals are differnt strength and hardness . if he is good at identifying id take his recomondation. if not then head to a small airport,,and ask who does their metal repair ....and think about the load issue

Great Story - Hunts for Healing info
ray koziatek replied to Miss em's topic in Open Lake Discussion
What a wonderful story . God works in strange way is our lives , He has a plan not to figure but to follow. Did the Capt.who named his boat "FISH DOCTOR" many years ago plan that the name might have been just that? It sounds like a master plan just came togeather as your crew on the "FISH DOCTOR" did a much needed healing to these HEROS ,that any medical doctor could not do. Thank you for all involved with this project for our HEROS , and like the small mustard seed may your deed grow into a field of oppertunity for us all to experiance.. Thank You Ray K. -
yup 1 good wack with a 12 lb sledge should do it..i would guess your needle valve was a tad laqured up and wasnt droppin out for proper fillin and your tap freed that up ..some area if the carb are very thin walled so id save the old hammer trick for tired brushes on a starter of alternator. like i said if all else fails give ol Hanky a call or Mark and the owner at Swartout marine in hammondsport are top notch, If I really hated you id recommend a place in campbell,or the west side of seneca channel..suppose i could look at it if it ant too far from my driveway.

Catch and release tactics?
ray koziatek replied to FLO1919's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
hmm i have a IO,with 4 riggers and two dypsys out and bring em to the side ..put yer time in "has been" it took me 2 trips to lake ontario before i figured it out. straight inboards and outboards can get ya a little closer to the back for a better net job,,its the new guys like yourself "We" try to help . Hang in there and keep trying and like i said with a little practice you and other newer fishermen will be releasing fish with very good sucess rates .. -
she could of seen her days, but the holos i flew in were made in 1963 (Ch46) and were still flying, but they were sent in every so often (?) hours for overhaul. The field or normal repair done by metalshop was to: stop drill each end of the crack epoxy and rivet a repair plate approx 2 in larger than cracked area..We used a 2 part epoxy called PRC but now they use (Switzer AC ) a two part very simular to "J B weld" you buy in the store but it has a excellerted cure rate (military version) that gets hot to the touch but they both seem to cure at same strength just diff cure times.. Now the crack you see probly ant the extent of it (length) a special flourcent dye must be applied and inspected for extended "hairline crack" you cant see under normal light and conditions just so you get both ends of the crack for proper stop drilling areas .. If you have "spyder cracks" check load distributation on trailer or the boat could of been made on monday as the saying goes.. but like Jimski said if shes getting too old and that wasnt due to external damage (log, dock ect) ya probly have a few more" hairlines " getting ready to happen or have already happened and ya ant seen them yet....

there is a little one way check valve at the fuel tank ((first outside connection)..might be some crap in that ...ya could try to remove fuel line near or in engine compartment ,put in the barbs of one of those squeeze primer bulbs clamp till firm and squeeze it should squirt out about 2 oz each pump and refill pretty fast ,aslo on the outgoing end put about a 2 ft piece of clear tubing and direct into clear jar so ya can get a good look at fuel for dirt and water. I guess as a back yard mech, the next step might be a carb rebuild kit pretty cheep and easy to do BUT FIRST I WOULD CALL HANK (L&M) for his advise , could be centrifrical weights in distributar are stuck for timing advance, internal port or passage in carb pluged, restriction in exhaust,(little waterbackflow thingy stuck or broke and jammed in there., without tinckering with it my self those are just a couple things id look for.

thats shaped most like a "Mann's " deep pig,,from Eufaula ,AL. "Bomber"" also made a "Model-A' med. and deep runner. fram GAINSVILLE TX " CORMORAM" Has A " My Plug" version that took the 1992 B.A.S.S. classic by Robert Hamlin Jr... Then their is the "COTTON CORDELL" version alled the "Big O" series ,made in Hot Springs ,AR. thats all that comes to mind right off the bat without thinking about it.

Catch and release tactics?
ray koziatek replied to FLO1919's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
One more thing how many times have ya heard "lost at back of boat"?? try letting out a spinny at the back of the boat what does it do .............. it goes down and is sucked to boat in back draft ...thats why i hate bringing a fish to the back of boat to net or release. the fish is tired from the fight and drag but when it hits the "draft" of the boat it shoots forward gets a little slack and gives that famous rigger wire wrap dive or puts the hooks in the net for a clean release pluss the net guy (most important roll of landing a fish) is reaching off ballance .....Ive found bringing them up the side of the boat keeps steady pressure on them easier to keep their heads up and one swipe of the net with a well ballanced net guy gets the fish and lure 99% of the time . ya gotta learn to read the fish as to what side of the moulth its hooked and bring it to the side that keeps the hook closest to the boat so the fish pulls away and not under the boat (more choas)...ok enuf tips for one night Ps ok just for the rod man when that fish hits the draft and shoots forward you get a tad slack in the rod think its in the net and relaxe as the fish has its way....then the net guy starts hollaring head up head up....................ahh too late.... -
Catch and release tactics?
ray koziatek replied to FLO1919's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
If your gonna release at back of boat wack it over the head with a club so it dont move all over and rip its lips..... ok just kiddin...im lucky enuf to be able to bring them alongside of boat and reach them and i use 20 lb line most of the time for the big boys so i can get em in as fast as possable..99% swim away unharmed maybe a little sore. But them draggers ant got much of a chance seems like 99% of the time they get every hook on your spoon in them...With time and experiance you will be releasing fish with a good succes rate too. -

Didnt get to read the link yet busy on the boat till dark. Did YOU know 2% of fish imported to this country are inspected, many are farm raised in china (lots of clean water there) and other countries with almost no regulations where many groth hormones are spread in the water (with just a touch of poop) , This subject has been brought up on this site many times ,yes ant everything we eat is as safe as some guy in some lab says it is or should be. I dont put the whole fish guts and all in a blender then eat it , I Inspect 100% of my fish fillet the meat and trim the fat and latteral line .. Walk behind a nice fancy resturant and see where those " Farm Raised " rainbow trout are from(dumpster dive for boxes). I ve spent many hours in kitchens of fancy resturants doing maintaince work in the last 25 years and i know My cooking area and fish are many times cleaner and fresher than any "professional state inspected areas" Ive been in... sorry cant have class any more now ive gotta get back to getting boat redone so i can feed my 3 headed son he eats like theeir is no tomorrow.

size of salmon rods
ray koziatek replied to Deaf Fisherman's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Dave such a little rod for a big man ,Suppose you drive one of those 60 ft speedboats with 3 engins too! And how do ya manage to unravel the line from around tip ,stand the rod on end and reach down to unravel.. The 7 ftr is a good length I used them for years cept I needed a 4 ft step stool to reach the tip (little hight callanged for me)... I got a great deal on some 8ft 6 rods i use now , With longer rods the fish get a tad more advantage but their nice looking and the only thing on my boat that matches.. And you can get a longer hookset when you snug em down in the reaseases. Their ant nuttin set in stone for pole to fish setup its more of a personal preference (within reason)..IE: each derby Musky tries to sneak his Barbie poles with bobbers so check you crews carry on luggage.. -
I would of recomended hank also but you said good.' , , , , , , , , , ,, ,,,,, , ,, , , , , Not GREAT! I'LL 3 rd Hank ALSO L&M...
