  1. hey sean who you calling a 200 lb dope, i are a marine too guess i missed all the mindless guys cause i was in du airwing....thats it the spare tire stays on shore and i ant sleeping in the cooler no more on them hot days... Iwas lucky enuf to be the service in peace times and all them wasted tax dollars spent on my fruitless hours of flight training had me ready to do any mission my helocopter could performe under any conditions ,and i can guarantee you i would of laid my life on the line for poeple like some of the military bashers on this site and so would thoes kids on the patrol boats or aircraft. If you ever need a air rescue or boat rescue Ill bet they would still give it their all to save you despite you having both fingers in the air ,and i dont mean peace sign.. Think of it as car inshurance you pay every year never hoping to use it but if a accedent occures youll be pretty darn happy have it... Thank You To All Men And Women in ANY uniform who serve what is left of this GREAT NATION!!!!!
  2. sometimes too many cooks in the kitchen ant too good ,i feel better at the end of a derby if i make bad calls rather than butting heads during the derby...this year ive been off the lake a lot (only fished derbys and poorly at that), But with over 2000 hrs on the water in the last 4 years i know what program works best for my boat (i think) But im ready to give it another go or two ,If i still have a crew after this post...
  3. yup beef is safer , (if its not recalled for ecoli) then ya got lettuce and spinach (whos poopin in the fields)..chicken cook well and wash cuttin boards good, spagettos um their recalled too, try a nice rare cut of pork, venision after a bad bow shot full of gangreen might be good, Horse is big in canada and to the french..I guess no matter what ya eat you could have some issues, the fish in L.O. are actually quite tasty (except big uns lakers, browns, steelheads).Proper care, cleaning and cooking along with the ability to choose the one you want to eat might change your mind ....Just because ive sprouted a full winter coat on my body(hair) gone bald and now have 6 fingers on each of my 3 hands doesnt make me jump to conclusions the fish arnt safe , plus the little fins sproutin from my body helps me swim better ............opps gotta go my gills are gettin dry.................
  4. whats illagle? as long as you dont fillet .or keep the skin on and fillet is longer than min length of fish i thought was ok ... if you catch a fish and its gangreen or some other health issue i cant see where catch and release cant be done............
  5. MMMMmmmm ,"adarodack puss soup" .....id say that might be some good fertilizer ....I Always bleed out ,gut and gill on the water then if ya find a suprise you can dispose of bad fish, and it makes it 100 time cleaner at the fillet station ,and taste better in my opionion...
  6. Ok you figure it out! SCOTTY----canceled due to wind.. NIAGRA PRO/AM ------1 day , day 2 blowoff fishing tuff (for most).. ORLEANES PRO/AM--------------nasty weather fishing still kinda tuff (FOR ME). BOAT DERBY CANCELLED -------good weather ,fish reports around the lake of 30 to 50 or more bites a day .. I THINK SOME FISH IS GOT AXCESS TO THIS BOARD AND IS SPREADING THE WORD!!!
  7. Slimy you fish 5 to 7 days a week and call it boaring, with the wind and weather weve had you must have a very stable boat. For Others and myself to get a different Spiecies trip is a lot of fun ,toss in a new lake or area and a good bite on top of that and yes WE DO call that a good time. Or A GREAT TRIP!!!! If walleye fishing is boaring take a week off put the gas money aside and take a trip to lake ontario, but dont wac on someone Who Can only find time or is financally able to come up with "A SPECIAL TRIP" once or twice a year. And yes you must be a slow learner over 400 walleye cought and still complaining about lack of fight...
  8. this was the boat derby not to be confused with the spring, summer fall derby their still on.
  9. good for you to have a wife that shares your passion of the lake , It is with a heavy heart i cant get mine to lay down the knitting needles,or other craft related items.. But i can get her seasick with a glass of water so i understand her landbased activities are her limitations............... ..I think many on this site would be happy with a ten mile trip to the lake,Im only 120 miles south and feel pretty close compared to many, but yer right on with the short walk to the dock as being GREAT wanna share your campsite my wife does like camping?? Hmmm maybe i should be looking for a site near osweago or sodus...... for the month of july............... Good job on catch....

  21. I havent heard the unwritten rule mentioned this year ,but it was brought up at the osweago meeting last year.. I suppose the "grey rules" not printed are the ones that need to be refreshed at each Captians meeting.. Its too bad that so many choose to disrespect the speakers at the Captians meetings, with their talking , I was tought at a young age when someone is speaking to listen , now with the cameras rolling and the great attempts to get newer teams onboard its all the more important to zip the lips for the breaf talks and rule coverage... Im shure the teams that were DQ'd in Niagra Event got some pretty Negative Vibes Towards the whole thing ,by not hearing or following a rule We clearly heard EMPHASIZED at least 4 times during the meeting ..We were sitting front and center with our ears open despite this not being our first event.. I know the board should not have to take on the roll of" spoon feeding" at the Captian /Observer meetings .............but you might have lost 3 or 4 teams at NO fault of the board ,because the teams choose to sit in the back or with teams full of experiance and a little hot air..(talking) Another "long distance suggestion" ,Might be to save some seats up front ask at the begining of the meeting if their are new teams attending ,Invite them to the front ,as they are walking up ask for a round of applause for the new guys ask em their team names, where their from and how they came to be at the event. Sorta a twofold or threefold benifit .1-They are up front to hear the rules "new to them" 2- Those of us who remember those first meetings and the outsider feeling could WELCOME the new guys after seeing them (maybe we could start a new tradition we all have a few spoons, flys or something we could drop in a "new team bucket" (buckets) set at the regestration table onthe way in ) ..(maybe a few gag gifts barf bags, ect. Also not to dismiss the winners but Ill bet a little welcome bag with some sponcered items would have a bigger impact to a """" 1st time team"""" returning to a event, Than to watch a team win 10,000.00 and a bushelfull of stuff that will go into storage I know to speedup the captians meetings is a goal of some but in reality it is the only time we all are required to get togeather as a group ,,see the new teams,,and say hello to old friends in a group setting........... get down to buisness first (rules) then pass out the orderbs and have a round to pass out to everyone and have a new pro am tradition of a group "cheers" to a safe and succesfull event" Dispite the need for sleep and gettin the boat in final order WE ALL would benifit from a team social event ....how about captians meeting immediately after big fish friday weighin at same building or area ,youll have a good camera crowd for the video,,,,guys will get psyched for the derby and maybe the next "Big fish friday event" you wont have to tear down and assemble camera stuff,,,,,, and it would give 'THE TEAMS"" a couple hours to socialize befor heading off to dinner and setteling down for the night .. (comon arm stay down ,,stay down) ill bet some one with the ability to bash and talk could be a good asset on the mic. (ill need 4 days to get reaDY))
  22. Im shure they all got their heads stuck the the budget pages now................ ....................................... ...................................... sleeping.
  23. Way to go at osweago ,wish we could of found more fish at the oak for you to play with prefishing.. and for the derby.... Thanks for hanging in their sunday after a not too good day saturday once you laid down the chumline they said the catching picked up like crazy... that was my first trip outa the oak for the year and a bit dissapointing to say the least , time of year and a little wind can make a hudge difference for my "normal spots".. Thanks again ,TEAM pegasus
  24. John, I assume your using retrivers to get to the line. can ya leave your extras 10 ft or so from the mast before the retrivers ? If not ya might need to get the slip on releases with the pinch pads kinda pricy but a good backup on those hot board days.. Or if the boards pull that good (track) can ya put a pully with shockspring to a eyebolt on the hard top after you put the boards out, might be a pain gettin stuff out or in unless you rig up a quick pin on the pully so after the boards are out you can walk to line back and hook on the pully spring assy. so ya dont need to go all the way to the front to get yer extras.... Other than that ya might have to call me for a walleye trip so i can come up with some ideas on the water....
  25. Yo Mike ya missed a great time Ok for as much as i try to get as many involved to get into the pro ams I now feel i would be missleading someone into a falts hope of fun. Not that the getting togeather and chating with the "DERBY" friends and the competative fishing isnt great ...BUT.................................................. ........................................................ ........................................................ Well first let me say this ..not to toot my horn but more as a proverb lesson.. When I took over as president of the national cinderella softball leauge they had problems, teams were dropping out, intrest was falling, the books were a few dollars from turning red and the overall spirit was slowley going...away: Well the board was big 15 people , great ideas were dissused for several hours at every 1 hour meetings , at the end of 4 hrs for our 1 hr meeting 15 people had 15 great ideas how to better the"" World series "" Held on our fields but ,there seemed to be one major focus overlooked by most but viewed by a few as a more important issue....Our duty .. TO THE TEAMS WE WERE THEIR TO REPRESENT AND TO DO OUR BEST TO MAKE IT THE MOST ENJOYABLE AND POSITIVE EXPERIENCE DURING THE SERIES (6 WEEKS)... OUR GOAL FROM DAY 1 OF US (new board) TAKING OVER WAS : EVERY DECISION WE MAKE HAS TO BE FOR THE GIRLS (TEAMS) IT WAS NOT ABOUT US BUT THEM.. At the end of 10 years of the board being down to basic 6 people;;; all the fields ,fences, scoreboards, sound systems, new field lighting, new field equiptment, consession stand improvments, seating, were done at the cost of many 1000,s of dollars....with 17,000.00 left on the books IN THE BLACK for future improvements.. 5 others and myself worked togeather as a team to get the small communties reinvolved ,several small communties got teams back togeather and as the end result about 1000 more kids were involved in a almost overlooked event with some of those small towns doing well against the estlablished franchises.... So what am i saying...............shure the national camera crews on a few boats might be really cool for a few but at what expence to the little guys?? At what expence to the derby?? As ALWAYS I THANK EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THESE EVENTS AND MAKING THEM RUN AS WELL AS THEY DO , BUT SOMETIMES YA GOTTA LOOK AT YOUR SHOES.///
