  1. we were only 4 miles north oF port for the pro/am ,excus me( ) we did get some steady 4's with ocasional 5 or 6 ftrs, brb ( ) In the last 10 years ive seen some winds on the pond,,,,MOVE and they wernt no 15 mph winds,I took off my shirt and every hair on my back was laying flat thats how i tell 20 plus winds,,,,,,,,NOT AGAIN and when i feel the wind blowing through the hair on my head i know its 25 mph,but just to make shure i did wet my finger and tho a little brown i still could feel wind. we also checked 4 sources less than 9 hrs before the wind and the gentle south breeze was the plan of the day acording to all websites ahhhhhhh Were just glad all around the lake made it in alive, my boat might have a ding or two and some chiped wood ,but all safty equipt works wel enuf that i feel pretty confident of my ability tio get me AND MY CREW TO SHORE So if ya add the posted 10 mph south wind and add in the 25 mph north wind they were only off by just a mear 35mph on the wind and just shy of 180 deg. off on the wind direction OMG not again but to make shure i always do my research and called the Washington and found out it was Bushes fault and the current adminastration was looking into it ..........................Now Im Getting SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS: pay attention in the Captians/Observer Meetings some boats were DQ'd sat due to rule infractions and sunday was a blowoff ,the rules are simple and if ya want a 1on 1 after the meeting someone will be more than willing to clarify any concerns you might have, also most of us who have done a few can answer most questions you might have or get you to someone who can answer your questions,,, Ray K,

  10. Well the first (niargra)of 4 derbys is in the books with #2 (Orleans)(oak orchard) justa few days away. Then their is the Osweago, and the Wayne cty (Sodus bay) in july. I know in these tight money times money is "The Issue" for some , but when i think back a few years to our "First Derby" It was more the intamadation factor of getting into one of the biggets derbys on this great fishery. So ya ant gotta be rich, nor do ya have to have the biggest and newest boat on the lake , and if you keep putting it off "till next year" it will never happen. So get a few guys togeather form a team and find out why so many mark these special days on their calander. Our team has done as well as 4th all the way to dead last ,but thats fishing. To see all the new friends we have met in the last few years at these events , and the excitement of the compatation and to share the whole "Derby Experiance" keeps us comming back despite our final scores. So thank you to the guys and gals who keep this derby(s) alive and all the behind the scene and the volenteers that help make it a GREAT EVENT, AND A SPECIAL """""THANK YOU"""" TO all the sponcers who make all this possable. Ray K. team "PEGASUS" p.s. looks like well be buying the donuts after our last derby with a perfect "0" score.
  11. I think every boat had a bananna sliped into it saturday,,,those "happy spots "were few and far between and most ended up in the "between zone",one more derby like that and ill rename my boat "Between Zone "
  12. Yoo Hoo ,,,,Mikey ohhh fella glad to hear you will be there for us,,,I tried to change my boat name to "SPEEDO" but some bit%# from provence town took that,,,, so then i tried "ATOMIC WEDGIE" and they said I was sneakin in a mfgr, name to my boat name despite my efforts to show the board what that was .. \ Then when i found out from landshark "PEGASUS" = FLUFFY UNICORNE ,in greek I decided to keep the name and learn some Greek fishing moves

  19. Happy birfday Tim thanks for what you do for our fisheries.....Hope all the pro am boats didnt interfere with you having a great day IN the water...when we pulled out today their was gentle 1 ftrs ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,AT THE LAUNCH RAMP!!!!!
  20. Well we all know what happens when our team gets togeather , focuses, planes, and excutes a smooth thought out stratigy that no other team can possably figure out...WE WIN !!!!!!!!! Yes! Well We arrived late Thursday so prefishing was out and a Stop at "Mattys resturant" in Wilson started our trip with the best desserts in NY. Friday we got on the water (casey my son ,Musky and me), and laid out a failproof stratigy that No other team could figure out. Feeling secure in our plan it was off to the Captians / Observers meeting in Wilson for orderbs ,commaraderie , and seeing old faces and friends from previous years of Derby fishing. Day 1 saturday was the" time to shine for us" we (Jason,Musky and me) followed our plan with the confedence of a well trained solder heading into a mine field of fish... Our setup was perfect and failproof within 5 Hours we get our first fishon . Yes our plan is comming togeather as Jason grabs the rod screaming and reeling like a little girl. Well their was no need for a net with jason on the rod as the fish swims to the boat, sticks out its tounge ,and swims away to freedom. within just a mear hour we get our second hit screaming away from the boat, once again Jason shows his strength on the rod and his thumb on the reel stops and pulls the 4 lb steelie 6 ft out of the water , again this fish showed his displeasure with our hooks stuck out his tounge and swam away after his free ride to the surface. With a mear couple hours left to fish it was game on!!!! I sent jason to his seat as Musky continued his precision straight circles and pulled in 3 fish blindfolded (musky not me he musta been!) all to small to keep so we end day one and run the 5 miles in 2 to 3 ftrs back to the weighin with a perfect score sheet.................. ......................... ........................ ...................... ..................... ................... ................. ............... ............. ........... ......... ....... ..... ... .. . . . Yup not a mark on it!!!!! So the weighin was quick for us as we proudly stood out in front of God and everybody Including the new national T.V. cameras and crew. Luckly sunday was a blowoff so we didnt need to defend our title of :::::::: LAST PLACE WITH "O" FISH!!!!!! to weigh in. This was our first perfect sheet with no messy fishy smell in our derby attempts..and we won the destinct honor of the "DONUT AWARD" Yes folks we actually won som money and hopefully a box of donuts... With that said we had a great time and maybe i got some ammo for a team PEGASUS (former L.O.U.S.E.R.S. hmm maybe not) story.... Overall it was a GREAT TIME !!!!!!! and our first of 4 Pro/ Am derby is in the books (at the bottom) So as I always say do yourself and some friends a favor Get Into One of these Great Events ( Pro/Am derbys) and you too might be sitting with my team and I enjoying a fresh box of Donuts !!!!! Ill buy the coffee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEAM PEGASUS (Greek for fluffy unicorn) Musky bomb, Jerkin jason, and me (Capt. Buffy) Thank You to all the folks involved in makin these great events a sucess tho a few bumps are being worked on We had a great time and look forward to see you all next week at Orleans minus the wind and rain.... And at the end of that derby Hopefully our team will be supplying the coffee not the DONUTS !!!!!!!!!!!
  21. hows it feel Jerry having to look UP to see who your talking too..
  22. hey its my turn again in the stick (stir the pot),just a side note my cannons im slowley replacing were made in 1985 they still work 2 kinda tired ,but more than likly user error the motors are still 100% but the little gearshaft support in the housing is bent a tad causing extra friction during the retrive thus the term "tired",,,,,,,bottom line on riggetr is what ya are used to,, high speed for a charter with a desinated "Rod setter" "firstmate" will get the stuff back down fast for those dime size pods, or during a derby with a narrow fishing window IE; Pro/Am 30sec extra retrive time x 4 riggers =2 min x 40 retrives a day could add some serious fishing time to your day.. But as a rec fisherman im happy with the slow ones....but after writing the last part of my post maybe thats the reason they call our team ::Team L.O.U.S.E.R.S
