Ok rob i gave ya 12 pages and no deer yet,let me help ..........When Playing candy crush turn off th volume...leave the X4 at home ground temp wont help ya hunting,,,cowbells are not good attractors....turn off the deck lights when getting in or out of stand,ya dont need downriggers to rise and lower yer bow and gear..and forget the net ,once they are dead ya dont need to run up to it and net it...and fishfinders only work in water tho that was a nice try...in a couple hours Im heading to pike cty Il.300 acre private farm only hunted by 5 of us and 2 are more concerned with camp food than hunting ,im going in dyhard mode and should get a nice 150 or bigger their are 2 170 on camera ..this area is new to me but ive been studing google earth and will be there 2 days early to glass.....I feel very blessed to be invited there...my biggest bow but is 162 witout deductions....i would love to beat that,,ill have 7 to 10 days to GETERDONE...

I didnt say southern tier ,he just mentioned he was 200 yds behind houses.i was trying to help to the situation he had not deer hunting as a whole..

the key thing in yer favor is these are backyard deer , so they are used to human sent..young doe 1 to 2 yr olds wont be a issue as will young bucks..Um Dont Pee where ya hunt a mature doe or buck will not like that too much...bring a jug..airborn smell near houses dont alarm deer as much as fresh foot prints or clothing brushed along deep weeds along the trail..try your best to get to yer stand without walking on the deers trail...if you cross their trail they have the width of yer shoe to get yer sent if you walk 20 yds on their trail then they got 20 yds to smell yer trail,,also dont move ,rural deer rely upon their eyes a lot more than woods deer

is 308 big enuf for deer maybe a 50 cal or bigger ...chas its due to stress in the metal ,unless yer shooting 200 rds a min or more ya aint gonna hurt yer bullet spinning thingys

Throphy hunting is so "shallow" I only shoot big deer for the extra meat.. I got a extra 20 lbs of meat holding off for this one decent rack too ,well over 400 in.

shakin like a leaf says it all....did ya have a little trouble getting the release on the line..he he ..unless im peeing i keep my bow in my hand 100% of the time arrow nocked...and if i sence anything comming i clip on the string with the release....after over 25 years of bow hunting I still shake like a leaf,miss nock arrows and have trouble lockin on the release...A good hunter knows his own faults ,and eleminates his weakness by being prepared,just don't get caught with yer pants down.Thanks for your story...... opps better toss on another log...whos next?
