  1. after reviewing vid. and recallin my standup jet ski years back in the 80's you never jump a wake from the inside out less airtime and ya get the rollin effect ,,,now if he came in from the side and caught the 2nd wake head on (a tad angle from front of wake boat) he could of gotten much more air time up to 10 ft (why do my knees hurt ) but it is very important to drop the throttle as you will roll in the air from the torque......hmm the jet ski is still under cover in the shed you guys wouldnt mind if i jumped around yer boats during the derbys...
  2. jeff i think rabbit was refering to raising his arm to help with ideas or sponcers not the fishing end of the pro/ams...as someone who was the volenteer president of a National Softball association for nearly 10 years I am very familure with organizing teams and events that hosted 2500 participents a year ,Including regestration, teams scheduals, umpires, all inshurance ,field maintiance, sound systems, awards and trophys, all conession stand food and worker scheduals ,parking, coaches and teams meetings, argurments ,security, ...AND I might Proudly mention thier was 4(four) of us who did every bit of all this work pluss our regular jobs.....and Sunday afternoon after the final round game and cleaning the fields ,trash, securing grounds and doing all the cleaning of the conession stand we would sit under the pavilion and make plans ahead for the next of a six weekend in a row event (WORLD SERIES of CINDERILLA SOFTBALL)...THEN after the last of six weeks were over we would review what we could do better for the next year for the teams and after 2 months off we would start planning 8 mo. in advance for the following year ,Including sponcers and everything mentioned here pluss all the little surprises that pop up during the events.....so after not reciving the sponcer pacs i was told should be at my house in 2 weeks (IN JANUARY 2010 ) , I made this post.... I just have the i wanna help in any way i can blood in me rather it be showing a kid how a bobber works or trying to find sponcers for some of the greatest derbys on lake ontario''' THE PRO/AMS ''' Well I guess its better left to the commitee to run and fund the pro /ams ....But i will still give my oll IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PRO/AM DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET INTO ONE ITS A LOT OF FUN AND YOU WILL MEET SOME GREAT FOLKS WHO SHARE THE PASSION OF DERBY FISHING !!!!! As for the suffistacted stuff ill step back and leave it to the pro am commitee as i always say IZ JUSTA PLUMMER....

  8. yes to the vans as thats what i was refering to ...get a passenger one and do as has been said I did much testing of ford pass and chevy pass vans and their was NO comparison the chevy was day and nite diff than the ford..i bought the chevy....P.S. i did buy a ford work van from simmons in less than 24 hours i discoverd the battery was bad took it back to thieir wonderfull service center they got a 10 volt static reading(1 dead cell) and the wonderfull service mgr said it was not covered under warrenty I could of got my way with a new battery but chose to take the high road and STEER EVERYONE I CAN FROM THAT DEALERSHIP....PSS. not one of our 5 cars will ever drive into a goodyear store again after 30 years of dealing with the same store (new manager made the diff) but thats another story..... EDIT...PS. pluss boat and camper another 10 tires with spares...
  9. Whatever ya get keep in mind a few things , my 1/2 ton pulled my boat nice only in the 4000lb range loaded with trailer with the 5.0 ,my 3/4 t with 6.0 is a day and night difference yes the extra hp will give you better millage with big load but the overall weight of the 3/4 plus stronger suspension makes towing a effortless and better control (sway, stopping, cornering) situation.. so if your getting a "Tow" vehical get a bigger, stronger, heavier, platform to get you there and dont chase the MPG sticker...having owned many brands in the last 30 years i have found this as far as ride ..............dodge = good cushy ride, suspension a tad softer for better ride ,,ford= just the oppisite real stiff ,but will remove trees with stiff (strong ) frame (weight) ,,,chevy= best of both worlds solid frame , strong suspension ,but not bone jarring when empty...... As for me now i own a chevy and a ford van and the chevy is the favorite of the two....
  10. jason , maybe you should start stream fishing , and leave the first two bums on the lake ,three guys in a boat playing with their "BIGWEENIES" and i was stuck all alone with Paula ,showing her how to handle a flyrod.....on second thought I'll cover the streams and you stay on the lake....
  11. Message subject: Pro Ams From: daker1979 Sent: Sat Apr 17, 2010 8:43 am To: ray koziatek Paul Czarnecki Shade Message Hey guys... I understand your feelings and I'm not saying anyone's right or wrong.... but I do think it would serve the Pro-ams best to keep these type of discussions as PM's. I can't see how they are positive I'm just sayin _________________ FISH-ON !!!!! Unreel Guy OK I TRIED FORGET THE PACS AND YER ON YER OWN ILL JUST BE A SIT BACK PARTICAPENT ...THO IT IS A LOT OF FUN
  12. hey bill welcome , now is apalachin ny where you hear the banjos playing in the woods ?? hang on its downhill from here ,,,,,,,unless you get in the middle of a heated discussion your one of about 6000 waitin for the weather to break to get the season started.. Ray K.
  13. we always called it the " down and out" just run the minis 25 to 50 out gives those fish one more chance for a meal and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  14. Well we all are kinda a little family here ,Ok maybe not that close but all have something in common....WERE L.O.U. MEMBERS ... And Im shure we pass each on the water ,road, parkin lots ,bass pro,ect,ect....Afte a trip to the lou store , click of the mouse,i see bumper, and or boat stickers........at 3.50 to 4.00 each...now i ant no bumper sticker expert but unless these things are lifetime warrenty that seem a tad steep for such a sticker. Now as many know I try to "help" our beloved site mostly by tellin the folks that the PROFFESSIONAL site is well worth the 20.00 bucks due to all the added links, info, and other features that can help make a more succesfull fishing trip.... But I Might suggest to the shop owners (L.O.U. Store) maybe hava little sale or buy 1000 nice boat, bumper stickers ,offer em at a price that we cant refuse 2 or more, and let us all know who were cussing at when a boat cuts us off on the pond or trailer on the road,INSTEAD OF=== "HEY YOU STUPID SOB CANT YOU SEE..**%$@#@#OPPS.......................................................OH YER A LOU MEMBER, HEY MAN LET ME GIVE YA A LITTLE ROOM ..the world would be a better place.... Not to mention 1000,s of little signs on cars and trucks in a parkin lot full of [potential sponcers or new LOU members} heck i tunred a bunch of folks on to the site in the fla keys that were from michigan..this might be a nice writeoff (advertisement) and make 1000,s of LOU members one step closer to a handshake....... or or or or on the water when we pass each other fishing.
  15. used to be 5 lures or 15 pt total per line
  16. Hope NO ONE swipes the front curtian during a derby....
  17. maybe just one at the moulth of each port O lets say the blades should be about 20 ft from the water.......Whats the average hight of a sail 24 ft..
  18. Skip a little guy holds the fish behind him so he looks bigger a real fisherman holds the fish out at arms length towards the camera so the fish looks bigger......as for the one that "got away" try closing the little hook thingy on the swivel...Hope this HELPS !! Maybe you should find a lot lizzard that can take a pic for ya , or did ya have one of those drivers that works for that special truck line.......you know!!!
  19. Its the least i could do after you named your lake and town after me.. Ray K.
  20. yukon, hmm sounds like you have some good memories up north. so did ya spend time in AlaskA ? or just a" wanna visit " like the rest of us ..?? my sisterin laws brother lives there and im trying to talk my brother into a moose trip ,course I'd have to take a pole or two...they have to shoo em out of their backyard , supposed to be pretty good eatin too. might be kinda tuff bringing back 400lbs of meat in a carryon tho.
  21. you could try to drill a couple holes a tad back further, kinda like changing the bridal string on a kite location just tie a loop of string in each hole so you can test on the water, also the homemade ones i made i took th the river and finetuned location with small threaded eye till i found the hot spot then i drilled and put in a eyebolt with nut if you have a creek or river nearby to tesr,, hight is important too, (mast) 6 to7 ft off the water should be good enuf....I have some cannon collaspables and they track good enuf to pull 4 lines (lures or stix) with keel weights 1 to 2 1/4 oz...they ant no good for 600 ft copper tho..past 25 ft out ...Ps . the further out the more drag back i think cause the mast to board angle helps with the tracking ..75 ft out is really all you need gives you a 150 + boat width spread.
