  1. Hey pops glad to see the bones move after another freeze... thought i heard PREPARE TO RAM around 4.pm yesterday. maybe ya shudda gone west (or 1700 miles south) http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/ ... 3.250m.jpg
  2. kinda found some new playpals 48 in is biggest so far king mackeral ....white on silver and watermelon mags working good other things have been working but the fish inhaled them whole before i rigged up with wire so i cant show them too ya. fish are very fussy on speed anywhere from 2.2mph to 7mph if the bait will run at high speed ...biggest spanish mac.was 36 in PS. I found these fish less than 1 mile off shore no need to go to the channel 4 miles out was getting hits in less than 4 ft water ,kinda like spring browns with a tad more fight
  3. I can whistle but my tweating is a little slow....Chad ,Chad,Chad..........maybe bamboo shoots under the fingernails, but live reports from the water ????? Section 0U812-of the fishermans rules of torture : AT NO TIME WILL ANYONE INTENTIONALLY HARRASS , BRAG , OR FILE ONLINE REPORTS FROM THE WATER , AS TO DISTRACT , SIDETRACK ,KICK, OR IN ANYWAY DISRUPT A FISHERMAN WHILE HARD AT WORK.....
  4. sounds like a mess ,and the extra drag will not give ya results your looking for...ive tried several outa the box....things over the years and the time invested to setting out rigs outways the results...but give er a try might suggest 15lb powerpro as your lure line due to small dia. and drag reasons.
  5. I FISH WITH DOWNRIGGERS does that mean my lures are pointing srtaight to the bottom??

  12. We got yer back,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks for being involved with the big lakes "OUR LAKES"!!! Ya Know Ive never said "our"lake s before but I guess we are the stewards of this water,,If we didnt have to lie to our wifes about the amount of money we spend on fishing and water related items the gov. might have a more accurate guage as the income from the Great lakes....(.yea honey ,some guy sold me all this stuff for $10.00,still has the $1900.00 price tag on it to!!) Maybe its time to comeclean with the wifes......................................NAAAAAA!!!!!!
  13. I live in steuben cty and have 2 friends who own buisness that harbor hunters.. One owns a barber shop and is a avid hunter. He has not had ONE customer that hunts ,say the deer population is up or the same ,Everyone mentions coyotes as number one problem......The other own a sporting goods store(small) but the hunter reports there are the same less deer , and increased coyotes kill. and Im talking the good ole boys who have been around a while not new guys who depend on reports for what they see with their own eyes..when i get back home ill have them put up a poll for who filled tags or left empty...With my need for meat down due to deer from Indiana i Trophy hunt ny now But will take a wonded deer or med doe near some fields i hunt (700 acrs) corn. As you know a trophy can just happen and most due but they can be persued with extreme caution and many hours afield, and sometimes it works out ...my experiance is limited to the approx 1000 acrs i have axcess too 1/2 of it is very restricted (leased) to hunters and the rest is all posted but a few sneak on there so either were all wearing the newest " Gov. Patterson" glasses or we left our guns home.. PS.. I also hunt near Odessa, and surrounding areas with good hunting friends who lease another 750 acrs and the reporst there are the same.and one ole timer who has had food plots long before it became a household name is baffeled as to how the deer dissapeared this year..maybe him and his boys all got the latest edition of the new glasses too.
  14. "hogfish" sorry about the clarity this thing was really cool shuda took pic on the boat.....
  15. huh what did he just say?? 500 item curectan and he cant even fix me spellin, boy if i were the head cheese here id bee riting like a colage pruffesor....Chad, its nice to khow your on top of this stuff ...Ive never seen a post here that said " Hey Pretty Good Site " but if ya want to be impressed check out xxxxxxx.. Its Always a remark like "GREAT SITE!!!!! IM GLAD I FOUND IT!!!!!!! So I (WE) Thank You For Sharin Yer Puter Smmarts To Save So many fishermen from cabin fever, noncatchalightious, whatthehellitus, wherthefishareitus, gotta buy anotherspoonitus... As always i sorta do the unautherized plug of tellin folks here the $20.00 cost to become a "proffesional" is well worth the money for the extra info that is available to the serious fisherman and jump in on the chat box if ya got a question.... Thanks, Ray K.
  16. Sorry I missed it,but I agree the 10.00 bucks for the pen rearing is a great investment for our future ....put me in for another year Tim and ill catch up to ya at the launch..now that the oak is shutting down ill need a new Home Port..I,ll bet their was some warm discussion groups about Mr. wonder--full-of-it ,ability to save ny tons of money.......The few times ive made the show was great and as stated meeting the" lou crew" is always a bonus to all the great deals... Maybe ole "Blue eyes " will have a small L.O.U.table (hint, hint) there next year Im shure 200 coffee cups would sell, hats ,you know the "MAN STUFF" we all would buy.. and yes at least one of those thong bottoms for musky to strut around in..
  17. Welcome home,,,and get ready to buy a boat...... ,,,,,only problem all the lauches will be shut down by then,at least the state launches.. stick a little 5 hp on that drift boat and hit the hudson in may for stripers..
  18. andy i used my sears 19.2 v floresent light . but the hanging light box (lure hanging) lined with foil (or mirrors from your boat cabin cieling) will get all sides without rotating...so when ya get bessie milked and grab your dozen eggs from the coop why dont ya whip up a couple boxes (1 for me) ..biggest problem is more stuff on the boat so make em small and thin only gotta hold a dozen lures or 4 flashers......
  19. Found Big Schools Of these Fish they consider them garbage fish here, and there are no limits most are 20 to 30 lbs just kept a few small eaters.....................plenty of open sites....
  20. the bridge east of ohio key were we are staying ,havent seen any no-see-ums what do they look like ??? shulda seen the fish i got the other day just before a major storm came in from the west ,i was 500 yds from shore by the time i tucked in the trees there was 5 in of water in the back of the canoe with 3 ftrs then it quit as fast as it came...cant wait till i can get back to that spot shulda brought my fishfinder with the gps had a grouper on for 5 min that i couldnt move from bottom and it was only 10 ft deep caught 5 or 6, 18 in groupers from same hole so i know this one was a goodun ...the strong n/w blow yesterday silted (sanded) up the gulf side so i gotta give it a day or two to settle out ......kinda fun learning new waters, Its amazing the difference in bottom dispite only 7 to 12 ft bottom depth as far as one spot holding fish and 20 yds away nuttin so a handheld gps would be better than nuttin too. The tarpon was just a fluke(no pun intended) im shure as he got it on shrimp..and its just a tad early for the migration to start (march,april)..but good fun to see from a canoe jumping 4 ft in the air....
  21. this puppy drug me around for about a hour, about 30 in wide head to tail about 5 ft or so good fun in flat perfect water ..15 lb test line can drag a canoe (backwards) pretty fast...
