  1. http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/raw/fz ... sh.buf.txt dont get too excited yet
  2. last year when snorkling (alone) there was a 5 ft manta ray under me with a 12 to 14 in bite out of one wing. It was a older bite and it was not in good shape ... But it reminded me i wasnt alone in the water and every shadow and noise got my attention (jaws syndrome) 3 months till Ill be back there. We stay at" Sunshine key resort" its a campsite but it also has rental units ,kinda pricy but hey its 80deg in feb. There is Bahia Honda state park 14 days max stay with some great tent or smaller pop up campsites on the water there is large camper spots too, but you better make reservations early (like now) this would be a great place to stay to get a Taste of the Keys 45 mi. to Key West ... And i think the price makes it very dooable to most here . Also there is a place nearby I think its called "Fishermans Paradice" Havent checked the rates but ill be doing more research this year (next feb-april) also "no name bar resturant" is a must do meal .....youll see why when you get there on "NO Name Key" just off "big pine key" some cool mountian bike trails on "No Name " also.
  3. Mark is ,mean, short...i mean short temperd the only reason he towed your friend in was to get him off his waypoint so he could continue fishing,,,,,,,,Well MAYBE he is a nice guy.. most of us have been there or knew someone who was so we all (MOST) will lend a hand when we can ..(did he try to sel your friend a heating system on the way in )
  4. Cool ya started out with the best boat,,,then it looked like landshark on the copper with a 13 lbr or musky with a 20 lbr.
  5. or get a chain saw.....problem solved
  6. harvy just put in at the south end ,,if you do try the bridge keep the rod tip down ....not that I ever broke one off going under
  7. you dont need 70.00 rods for lighter stuff tho they should last a lifetime, ive got 10 11.00 rods been using for 3 years on strippers ,walley, browns and kings,(not when derby fishing) 7 ftrs, now that i know i like the length and weight (med) ill start replacing with 7 or 7.6 ugly's if they start breaking.. I might suggest getting a few cheap rods to experment with length and weight then you wont have 8 -60.00 rods in the rafters collecting dust or selling them for 20.00 each later.
  8. thats about 500yds from where ill be in feb - april keep you eyes peeled for the great buffy fish.
  9. ditto what gambler said ,,you should lay fillets to partial freeze (1 hour or so ) in freezer then the extra moister isnt a problem,,,i got fish slime in one of my units and had to dissamble and clean..
  10. you should see em in november in seneca lake at the pier in watkins hundreds balling up after dark in 15 ft water if anyone gets a chance to see this it is a cool site to see....I never fished for em (too cold) but many diehards are there after dark ..

  13. pete do some pushups and get over it..,,most jersy guys have issues driving there boat so your not alone..maybe one of those 4ft sailboat wheels might give you enuf leverage..Hope this helps.

  15. Well willy ya done sat out a good year on the pond and for good reasons ,so my Bday wish to you is May your boat smell like Ontario water all next year !! And the winds blow 20 mph harder if you ever Get into a spot like the "scotty" again.... , Hava Great Day !!
  16. hey red i think you need to stick to a bluegill site
  17. yes to the cavation thing ,is the prop all pitted on the backside near the hub ? it could be spun like hank said too, but its hard to imagine that you would not notice irrugular rpms under power getting on plane and if it was slipping that bad ...cavation actually causes heat at the prop (hard to belive) and causes the pitting bottom line is if rpms are going faster so should the boat ,also use your gps for speed as some (most)water speedometers have issues as they get up in age (like us)
  18. so larry my actual trolling speed is 186,002.5 miles per second
  19. Im in ,we need to count our blessings every day..I cant imagine the loss ....May you be comforted in your memories and strong in your faith that she is in "Gods House" and care .............Sorry for your loss.
