Thanks Tom not so much for your product (they are great!!) ,But more importantly your willingness to PUT BACK FROM WHERE YOU RECIVE ! Your willingness to support the fisheries of lake ontario, Support and sponcership of the many derbys on lake ontario and surronding waters.. Ive only done a few Pro Am derbys in the last 3 years when we first started the DERBY Fun One of the best parts to me was opening the Team Bag to find it stuffed with everything from shirts, lures, flashers ,flys, and many other fishing related items and local discounts to many supporters of the lake ontario derbys. Latly its been A SLIM PACKAGE but one SPONCER IS ALWAYS IN THERE!!! "ATOMIC FLYS".....99.9% OF THE BOATS IN THE DERBYS have lots of money tied up in fishing gear and spend another 1 or 2 hundred bucks for the "newest flasher, lure,FLEA LINE!!! weights ,swivels ,flys ect, ect, ect) for each derby (dont tell our wifes).I hope the extra 15.00 fee added to the pro/ams goes to help pay for the gas to the local organizers and runners of the derbys to drive door to door to help get more local sponcers to support the teams who bring THOUSANDS of dollars to each city we visit. Maybe the pro/am commitie could hire a "PRIZE CZAR" to help in the promating of the Pro Ams..........................................SO ILL DO MY PART AS CLASS CLOWN (FIRETRUCK PHOTO) OF THE LOU BOARD AND ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO TRY TO GET A TEAM TOGEATHER FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE""" LAKE ONTARIO PRO/AM DERBYS""" you will enjoy the competive atmosphere, comradery of the derbys, and learn some new ports to fish out of..So get on the phone if you know a few guys or girls who want to have a team fishing experience ,and if you know of a potential sponcer give em a call and drop a hint to them ,..AND BACK TO THE BIGTHANK YOU ATOMIC PRODUCTS for your support. AND ALL THE OTHERS SPONCERS and SUPPORTERS OF THE PRO/AM DERBYS

Propellers.......aluminum or stainless?
ray koziatek replied to Gill-T's topic in Open Lake Discussion
yup protect the drive systemwith aluminum(not 100% guarentee), you can have sent in for repiar(if not really wacked too bad) for 1/2 price of new one ,then you always got a spare on board. -
yes to mono just have good small knot that passes through eyes and guide under pressure....mount it flush or youll be bringing in a empty cable if you hit a summerged(even small) object on plane

kremer it was so bad one of the kids locked himself in the cabin and threatened not to come out unless we caught a fish......needless to say he got cabin feaver,,,i should of know somethig was up when the oldest kid showed up with a book to read if it got slow 495 page long and he finished it by the end of the trip . Forgot to mention the jetskiers jumping our wake while we were trolling.......With 3, 30" troll bags out!!!!!

It ant too late ! for a great time (FUN TOO!!) fishing. Get into a derby this year for a great weekend trip. 4 guys less than 100.00 bucks each..and if you win your golden with cash and prizes, and if you dont you will hold you head high knowing you just fished the PRO/AM derby's of LAKE ONTARIO..Dont put off this trip for another year the way things are going in our booming economy we all might be sitting on shore with a bobber pole before its done!!! -

Seems like someone on this site mentioned the most important thing of fishing was the THREE S's=speed, speed, speed. But im shure whoever posted the speed thing was a rookie. _________________ Always Learning Or Never Learning !!! wonder who that was???????? -

WOW just woke up from a 36 hour nightmare. They always say if the signs from the heavens say stay home to obey! first i lay down at 1100pm for a few hr snooze at 1110 pm the wife staggers in to the living room telling me to call a ambulance, so tring to save a buck i grab her hair and drag to the van and off to the hospital...Well after every test known to man was performed and a speedy visit by the docter he says hold off on calling the inshurance co (life) she was only having a anxaity, ashma, attack and kicked us out at 230am .. so i drop her off at the end of the drive way and head to the oak..(first sign)......I arrive the oak at predetermined time and walk to the boat ,,,,,,,,the only fishing boat,,,,,,,, parked in the middle of the sailboat club,,,,Its at that point i realize i left my good spoons home (second sign) i decided i better get my corner set up just in case the 19 year veteran captian and tom find the boat..i look up at the array of zebco red rihno combanations, and okuma magna pro 20's ..on deep sea rods...(third sign they only get worse)..the veteran capt chooses his hotspot and setup with several pleading phone calls to other ports to find out where the fish are, with his blindfold on and devining rod in hand he stands on the bow seaking out the big boys.(4th)we set up a little fast 10 mph to get the spread out quick(1 min for me 25 min for tom and capt.carl) then settel into our 4mph perfect lure spinning speed(hey were using spinning rods).i throw out my worst spoons afraid of showing up my new capt and by dumb luck i get the first fish on slider about a 3 lb brown(square tail atlantic)..i take a minute to settel down after catching my breath (tom scared the crap outa me when he SCREAMED LIKE A LITTLE GIRL F I S H O N !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).. kNOWING I JUST SHOWED UP THE BOAT WITH THE FIRST FISH i cut all the hooks off my lures except 1 rusty one and toss that out.wouldnt you know with every moonshine lure out in our spread known to man ,some high speed small steelie takes my rusty ol spoon ....yup 2 ray ---zippo everyone else,,,, dispite all efforts to keep the speed under 8 mph for the day we do manage to scrape a few more 3to 6 lb steelies (or teenage king) and the 9 year old brings in a decent 8 lb steelie to end the day oh wait a 12 in stelie banged his head on the rigger ball and was jumping senceless behind the boat unhooked for a fun areial show..then it happened after trolling nuttin but mooshine(isnt that some kind of booze)lures we snag a little steelie in the side with the moonshine sumpting or other.well 7 hrs and 49miles of trolling later(7mph average)we end our day,im really baffeled why our catch rate was down for all that ground covered..but it was a nice for a change to sit back and do NUTTIN NOTTA on another boat. After fishing outa my tin can at proper speed releasing more fish in a hour than we did all day it was a good day at the oak to do nuttin.......thanks capt carl and boys ond tom pulled through on some great food and NO CHUM SLIK FOR ONCE.great day

sounds exelent the 26 ft thompson i fished outa on erie w 350engine used about 2 gal hr trolling and God help him if he took a 15 mile on plane run..my 22 ft alum with 120hp gets just shy of 4 mpg at a 3/4 throttle and 1 gph trolling..we used almost 50 gal for 15 hr trolling and maybe 15 miles total running with the 26 ftr....my 8 hp honda gets 5 or 6 hrs a gallon trolling in calm weather.

yes the lead popping out was determined by a sharp bend at the tip with less than full core out caused the lead to break and wear from the inside out i never run less than full core due to this problem,ya just gotta have several lead rods with varring lengths i keep a 7 and 5 ..the 7 was a ten till i ran 3 for a day
