  3. REPEATE to good to be true...it is ...i got 5 rolls you can have if i didnt toss it yet .you should be able to decrease your catch rate to 1/5 th of what you would normally do with reg mono.If the dust on top of the package is thicker than the package then that might tell you something. P.S. terrable knot strength
  4. Well it was nice to see the old tackle shop in sodus open along with the ramps and a whole lotta dock space...Abes Tackle appeares to have bought the old (HUGE) place and is putting some life back into the first place that i ever got my feet wet on lake ontario. Today after dropping off the boat at hanks i swung over to sodus to visit Abes only to find he has moved and it looks like he bought a bunch of old tackle along with a ton of new.Now i ant got nuttin to do with abes other than spending more money there than i should .but i saw a bunch of stuff that i remember people looking for over the winter on this site Including lots of TAMIRONS,(HONEY BEE,OPTIMIZER,AND MORE),MANY ...NEEDLEFISH...ORIG.PIRATE SPOONS ,T-SPOONS,STINGERS,GOLD STARS,AND LOTS OF MFGR. I CANT REMEMBER SEEING BEFORE. most of these older spoons are great priced and lots of them.........like i said im not tooting Abes horn but just trying to help a fellow fisherman satisfy our addiction.....Disclamer: I am not responsable for your sickness to buy too much tackle. Ray K.

  7. if i wernt such a dumb plummer i might cut all the free bussing and housing for criminals families so they can have there congugal visits and get drugs delivered in the jails , stop snow plowing when there is 1/4 " of snow on the roads, have chain gangs and violaters pick up trash along the highway instead of 20.00 per hour state workers ,im shure there must be a pothole or equipt repairs the workers could do. BUT HEY IM JUST A PLUMMER.........FOR JUST ONCE i would like to see a overview commitee of people with common sence to actually discuss ideas BEFORE they are passed.................argggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH WAIT THATS OUR GOVENER BWAHA HA HA HA HA THE JOKES ON US...This is a j o k e isnt it....opps.
  8. for me to become a charter makes as much sence as buying a hunting/fishing shop... There would always be a sign hanging saying "Gone FISHING" or "GONE HUNTING"
  9. the no lox will work fine ,been using it for steel to alum conn. in meter cabnets for 25 years,so if ya ant sonna fish salt water or keep the boat for more than 30 years go with the grey goop your kid has
  10. not unless you have a lot of them (rocks) your better off with natural looking baits black and silver is a good color anytime and over by the hotel there is a nice light by that little dock that draws in the bait fish so some slow retrives with twitching might get some attention.i dont fish that lake much but spent most of my childhood summers with my cousins up there ...Emery Cummings (think hes the mayor still) and the Viselli's ..during the day if you can get over by the moulth of coldbrook try the shore line as browns cruse the shallows in low light conditions .
  11. bout the only time you will get one next to shore is after sunset and before sunrise as they will cruse the shallows looking for the bait.bobber fishing with a live smelt or sawbelly is best bet ,floating stickbait should work too but my guess is youll throw your arm outa joint before catching one your more likley to get a brown before you get a laker ..good luck have your friend take you to the creek near the hotel and try there as bait is around the creek this time of year
  12. A month ago i purchased a 14xg-2 nav. chip from navionics .for my lowrance fishstrike 1000c combo unit unshure as to what chip to buy i called Bass Pro and talked to the "expert" and he said my unit was too old and would need a free upgrade for todays chips ,after about 1/2 hr of him doing research for me...... Then i called navionics told them what unit i had and 2 sec later they told me what chip i needed .I purchased the recomended chip and tried to load using my unfriendly owners manual, then i called lawarence for help a move i knew would cost me a t least 1/2 to 1 hr of my life on hold again. As i listened to the "you are very important to us " message for the third time ,I called the 800 number for navionics on my cell as my home phone was on hold .... Within 30 sec of a PERSON saying hello i had the chip ;loaded and running.tha Accuracy of this chip as a navagation aid is amazing and it shows most every rock, jetty, and shole that could cause a recreation boater to run aground not to mention every nav, aid, bouy, and channel marker .then i recived my FREE FISHING CHIP needless to say 1 phone call and 30 sec (not min.) the chip was loaded and working great. My test run on lake Ontario was eye opening as to the great detail of bottom changes and structure i never knew existed .IT is with great antisapation and another HUGE LEARNING curve tool at hand that i will be using for my quest to locate the secret spots for kings. Already it is clear why some of the hot spots i have stumbled on in the last 6 years keep producing good results due to bottom changes. My advice is if you have a unit that will axcept these chips go for it, im shure it will be the best fishing aid investment sence my fishfinder .....Thank You Jeff and the Tech reps from NAVIONICS.
  13. narbys still has a reort but not the one were used too,Ive never meet Joe or his wife though i feel like there family and there daily report was more dependable than the daily paper and usually a lot more interesting. 17. March 22, 2009 Oak Pen Rearing... I am sure everyone was wondering when the first Right of Spring salmon fishing would begin. Well, I would like to announce that we will be putting the pens together on Saturday April 4th in preparation for this years delivery of fish which I believe will be mid month according to the information I have received so far from the DEC. We will be holding 82,500 salmon and 14,000, steelhead this coming year. So bring your side-cutters for a 9:00 AM start at Lake Breeze Marina. If we have bad weather on Saturday we will move it to Sunday the 5th. Fish delivery and feeding infomaiton will follow as it becomes available...Thanks and see you all there...Bob Songin
  18. I have no idea as to the Oak site. Just trying to keep us somewhat informed where i can .As larry posted we all will have to pull the load a little if we wanna keep up on the fishing post . .... tomorrows your turn
  19. I share the loss of At The Oak reports as bad as the rest of you. A site where i was weaned on lake ontario fishing for everyday I could check it from the day i found it several years ago... Just got off the phone with Capt. Ron From the "Buc"...They Had a good day for this time of year with 2 trips (morning and afternoon) approx 13 for 21 in the am/and 11for 18 for the afternoon trip.a mixed bag of Browns,Cohos,Steelies, and even 2 undersized Atlantics(maybe the stocking is working as several atlantics have been reported already this year). The usual stickbaits were doing there thing including Firetiger,Black and Silver,He also mentioned the WD-Dreamweavers on the riggers with the Frog beinging the best color for the day.The 2 to 4 ftrs outa the northeast ,with the wind and rain was taking its toll on the "first mate" as the Capt and crew were under cover with the heater on. They had to hug the 6-8ft of water to stay in the "hot"44deg. zone with the bite droping off with the water temps of 42deg. just a few feet deeper.Capt.Ron is concerned the N/E wind will break up the warm water tonight for his double charter day tomorrow and he will give it a go if his clients can take the "bumpy waters".Though only a few colors were mentioned as usual this time of year a wide varity of colors will work when you put it in there nose with stained shallow water. And today only proves the best fishing occures when your on the water . "The Rally Killer " made a short trip today but i have no info as how Capt.Clerence and his crew did.Thank You Ron for your willingness to Share your day "on the water" with us . Ray K. P.S.( I knew id forget something ) Capt. Ron said the browns were very healthy looking and surprisingly large this year .So maybe well be pulling in some double digets soon.
